I've been at this "success game" so to speak for a while now! And I have been betrayed a lot of times. Because of this, I realized that speaking less and listening more has saved me a lot of heartaches. Also, I'm pretty sure someone told me this as well when I was younger.

First learned about "shutting up and listening" in the USAF. Later in Real Estate, became top Sales Agent in 9 months. I listened and applied what I learned from anyone and everyone! Then when taking Dale Carnegie Class & obtaining the coveted "Objections Award". I learned that sometimes in an important situation once you have made your case, Shut Up! The first one that Speaks usually Loses! That holds true to this day! Also, I joined Toastmasters, that was so good, learning how to not say a a a a a a a! Taught to Speak succinctly and to the Point; not lose the audience with your narrative! ETC!
Wow too funny I also was a realtor and took Toastmasters looked into the Airforce and listen to Dale Carnegie along with Napoleon Hill. Life is definitely GOOD. Have a great rest of your life 😁

During my yoga teacher training we had sessions of 3 minutes partnering with a fellow student. We spent 90secs each to say what was on our minds or what we'd experienced in our last week, 1 spoke while the other listened closely with no words in response expect thank you at the end.. and then our teacher would ask us what we heard and learned from one another. Those sessions have stayed with me and I practice it without even knowing half the time... The
Silence is an indication of knowledge, self-control, and respect in any conversation, as well as a sign of high regard and appreciation for the opinions or ideas of others. Effective communication requires the exchange of relevant information with a distinct purpose; consequently, the ability to be silent and listen intently when required should be a natural component of any successful professional engagement.
Younger/Older than you. Yes the Young look at things in a different way and are generally enthusiastic and less troubled with regrets. I love that phrase about Older people messing up more. they also are more circumspect about things because they have seem it before. They also make you realise in the broad sense of things that it probably doesn't matter, and it certainly isn't worth getting too upset over.
It would be better of you explain some points for longer cuz these concepts are actually quite alien for me. I would like if the video was a bit longer.
😂😂 I am stealing #5 - when emotions go up, IQ goes down. Now I know where it went. 😂😅. Had to pause and lost my will to listen. I hear the brain also shrinks when one experiences chronic pain. Not sure if it’s true, but I guess it just pays to maintain and experience no more pain.
Bonus tip - don't talk about stuff you don't know. It will only end up in you being embarrassed if the other person actually does know that topic and asks you questions about it. Never act like you know more than you do. I know this point isn't directly about listening and is about speaking, but I do feel like there are people who need to hear (read?) this. Also - my brother always tells me that we have two ears and one mouth so we can listen more than we speak.
I worked inside the First Computer, when I was in the USAF! I was the Mouse inside of it, changing the IBM Cards amongst the green, red, & yellow flashing lights in a multi-battery of metal cabinetry! Locked inside of sealed Room, locked inside of another larger room with 30+ Teletype machines, and pass restricted access. Locked inside of another building, behind a huge Chain-link fence, topped with Barbwire, manned by an AP that gave you a pass and buzzed you into the Oversized Main Building. Top Secret Clearance Required to work in there, and more.
Listening well is a critical career skill. Fail to do so, and your career will stagnate. Do so, and you'll improve your rapport and influence on others.
Thank you for this video I really enjoyed it I mean if it from all the pieces of advice you have given however I wish the video was little bit shorter I just have a suggestion that if they are more tips try to split the video into two parts I enjoy this kind of videos but it just feels a little bit hard to concentrate in all tips because the majority of them will be forgotten soon so that's why I just suggest that thanks again
Uk what’s crazy. Everyone watching this is lowkey thinking that they’re the ones who need to be listened to more and that people in their lives need to shut up more often. Funny how the mind works.
this video was great advice for the typical modern-day woman. unfortunately moat of them are incapable of being accountable or of self-reflection. 🤷♂️
@@YashSharma-hi5wh correct, I commented on the reason for this video the subject matter. I didn't say it was a good video or anything about it. So, what is your point?

Listening to criticism is the one I loved most. It helps us to learn and grow.
So if two persons who have just watched this video went on a date it will be a very silent night...:)
It just could be Holy

She’s back!
The best one is when someone is trying to manipulate you.
“If you are seeing this” you’re special and adorable, you and your family are blessed 🫥
I think when you’re having a “Santiago” conversation is when one should be more inclined to listen…
What annoys me most is talking to someone but they're more distracted by their phone.
Think I learned it’s better to listen when I was a teen it has always been my way of learning people attentions or how they think
The wise old owl sat in an oak. The more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke the more he heard. Why can't we all be like the wise old bird?
When people gossip. Instant turn off for me as you begin to wonder what's really going on. Life is tricky enough!
so always say calm n silent unless asked to speak or in the face of injustice
First time we didn't get a bonus but sure thing, the manipulative kind spoke to me, wen you watch them frm far, you'll see how well silence helped
Wow!!!! Loving it
Thanks alux ❤
