It's just my guess but, seem like RD_Dream is a ME onechamp so if he get ban the only hunter that he's good at then it's kind of hard for him to carry his team, Shao is like a hunter that can played variety of hunters so it's seem that they hired him to at least secured the draw or full filled the role of a hunter. However ME at the Hospital map? DERANGED PSYCHOPATH. All I could see from the ME consoler is a bunch of tree, the console inside the hospital are even more like a joke cause what we could see above that but wall? This map was make as if to nerf ME player and yet he manage to pull out a 4K.
I’ve been saying this forever, a good mad eyes is easily top 3-5 hunters in the game, and dream (who is widely regarded as the best mad eyes) shows that perfectly. I really hope his team makes it to top 8 because I want to see him play against the best teams/survivors.
It's really funny how Zeez is Team RD (Dream) but then when Smiley comes up.... pure inner turmoil. I remember being around for some Mad Eyes nerfs and it's always fascinating to think about design philosophies irt that. like, is it fine to be practically uncounterable as long as getting there requires a lot of work? is that good game design? how much of it is character strength vs. player skill... all pretty tough questions and idk how to answer them, aside from saying that I still hope that Mad eyes can get some QoL buffs sometime. (like being able to choose what orientation the top view has, etc.) (I'm not saying Mad eyes is downright uncounterable but Dream sure does make it feel that way haha-) Watching Dream really does make one want to learn Mad Eyes but alas.... the trauma. The Fools Gold literally spending 2 cyphers repairing chair had me crying 😂 So nice to see the Gardener strategy in tournaments. It definitely has to be a team communication tho. If no one bring full struggle persona then the gardener strategy wouldn’t have worked
HOLY shit the gardener gameplay was insanely intense, feels so good to see them win after a terrible first round and against bad predictions also RD Dream is literally a god with not just the skill but the patience, I'm really rooting for them to go all the way. What they're doing with choosing different hunters is actually quite smart, as the more games they play the more data their future competitors can collect. Its kinda cool how theyre literally so confident they can win the prelims that they chose to use their non hunter mains to play to their advantage in the long run.
I think the reason RD only puts Dream as hunter in Round 1 is because in Round 1 survivors don't have bans yet so they can't target ban Dream who is their strongest hunter but specializes in Mad Eyes. In Round 2 and after they could just target ban Mad Eyes then Dream isn't as good on other hunters as their other hunter main Another club, RC, does something similar where they always have their Opera main Peter be the Round 1 hunter and then Peter never plays again since their other hunter Aka is an all-rounder with mastery in many hunters

I mean as an S badge gardener, I'll say she is relatively hard to harass with if chair spawns are unlucky and if the hunter has braincells x) she is easily countered either by taking giant's claw (which i see a lot rn in my own games, hunters don't give a f about harass against her) or if it happens so that Emma is such huge threat, the hunter will always switch target to down her instead. fool's gold was able to switch to Emma a few times at the start while ciphers were still bad while she was injured and he had blink up, he could use his brain and process the situation, seeing that chair spawn in this area is good for survivor side and it's imposible to kill prosp there without wasting time, and just chase her. he just decided to lose himself. I'm so pissed now about people saying dumb things about gardener being "meta broken" or something, but this is definitely not true. to make sure of it just go solo rank with her. of course she is solid when you have a full team in a voice chat and some person dying in a good spot with full struggle build, but as i said even against this, there is a counterplay, just fool's gold is completetely incompetent. just saying if the hunters keep mindlessly tounneling one survivor, they will always lose even to a full default team. and don't come to me saying like it's impossible to win as a hunter without tounneling. first you're probably a low tier hunter, and second for sure i partially agree that you sorta need to tounnel someone but it heavily DEPENDS. being a good hunter not only means being good mechanically, but also being good enough to read the situation and understand when switching target will actually benifit you x) like if he switched to down Emma, it would be a quick down because she isn't full health anymore, 4 ciphers remaining and she has bubble wasted too. nothing she can do. can down her, prospector will go probably get heal which will waste his time and teammates' time anyway, or he will go decode injured but someone still has to go rescue Emma now. simple concept of winning just if the hunter is competent lol.
thanks to painter being able to be rescued late/early and still sit on chair three times to die the cipher rush is strong. cipher rush = hard counter for opera singer :p
