Then the teacher challenges the student to consider hypothethical answers. Using pro and con and various arguements. There are an unlimited number of these scenaros. Whould that be a good way to teach conversational english?
sorry you unfortunately had this experience because I had the same. There are new VPN on the market now which are much more stables. The big names with a lot of advertisement are the one who are actually quite bad.

Yup people in mainland China are very outgoing and very extroverted. Men in China will very enthusiastically approach you. Maybe people in Taiwan might be more to themselves but that’s especially for some young people. The older men are not shy and they are very talk active
It is very interesting and insightful for Han Qian to say that you’ll find more traditional Chinese culture in Taiwan than on the mainland. Many mainlanders appreciate the way they preserve the traditional vibe in game and movie translations. A proof of this is that some mainlanders prefer Traditional Chinese translations done by Taiwanese translators in games and movies.
Main difference is that Taiwan is like a colony of US , so the white peoples normally get special treatment from the government and the local people in general. China was like that before, but not anymore

As the interviewee said, Taiwan is in many ways more traditionally Chinese than China. The Cultural Revolution and one-child policy changed the culture in China quite a bit. And a lot of art and historical artifacts from China were preserved in Taiwan, escaping destruction during the Cultural Revolution.

有人說[在台灣30年不會中文也是蠻厲害]，其實滿常見的，我朋友父親就是例子，原因1.當然是本身個性，若不是開朗主動.敢講的人，在沒有生活.工性被迫下，是可以不須要主動去學中文。2.環境，我朋友父親工作都用英文，日常生活.夫妻溝通有我朋友當翻譯。3.年紀，語言就像飲食習慣，年紀越大越不容易改變，即使有心學習效杲也是很差甚至放棄。
除了語言，有的連台灣在地食物都不願意碰的，一臉嫌棄
很多人在美國住了３０年英語也是啞啞烏！而且對美國食物也是一臉嫌棄！

I lived in China and also felt so frustrated about having to use VPN, the problem is VPN does not work all the time and when it does, it is super slow
sorry you unfortunately had this experience because I had the same. There are new VPN on the market now which are much more stables. The big names with a lot of advertisement are the one who are actually quite bad.

@@治强 前段时间中国政府取消课后班，很多英语教师失去工作。她学的是简体中文，不得已只能去台湾碰碰运气，和偏好无关。现在所有国家教的都是简体中文。

問題是不管你把中文學得多好，很多台灣人還會把你看成外人。有些很想學英文，也有一些不太會講英文，不過很會看種族所以不願意跟西方人說國語。當然不是大家都這樣，但是很多就是。雖然我自己樂意的花錢上中文課，花時間自己學，但是我都不會批評不學國語的外籍居民。畢竟行為遵循激勵。

在中国地铁里，大家当然会排队，只是等到车门开了大家进入车厢后，会去快速地找位置坐下。我认为这是没有办法的事情，早上高峰期的时候，要到达公司可能需要一个多小时，甚至两个小时，这种体验真的非常痛苦...尤其是一年是365 天每天都要站两个小时。
在珠海、厦门、青岛、烟台这样比较小的城市居住更舒闲，人各有志有人想去哪就去吧，大把外国人来中国旅游、学习、工作、生活都喜爱中国，现在TiTok上到中国旅游的视频都特别红火，非常多非常多的人观看！
主要原因是人多和停站时间非常短，如果不赶着挤上去很有可能就上不去了
我覺得平均而言台灣沒有比中國安靜，她應該住台北吧？台灣很多地方因為油電車很多的關係所以很吵，中國都是電動車
但大陸人很愛亂按喇叭😂

住在台灣很久仍然不會講中文的外國人一大堆，我的鄰居就是其中一個，因為台灣天生崇洋崇日，台灣由於不被國際所承認，進而導致天生自卑先天體質不良，我們比較像美日的藩屬國，缺乏真正的國體或國格，不少台灣人講話時總喜歡穿插一兩句英文，俗稱晶晶體，好像這樣格調會比較高，也因此不少外國人不學中文，因為我們就會自動迎合他們講英文，他們何必另外學？當然這只限定講英文的高加索人種，東南亞的外國人一律稱呼為死外勞，是一種自卑又自大的社會文化。

台灣原來也不是講國語（華語，Mandarin)的，荷據時代，講原荷語，鄭劇時代講＂閩南語＂，清治時代講閩南語，日治時代講日語，蔣劇時代講華語，一直都是講殖民統治族群的語言！現在開始流行英語也不奇怪，因為美國一直是台灣隱形的殖民統治者，而且英語還是現在世界通用的語言！學會英語有百利而無一害，為什麼不學？水往低處流，人往高處爬，符合人性！

@@yonnkang9666 敝人一直都有持續學英文，沒有否定英文。只是因為之前工作關係待過中國，那裏的洋人多為外派高管，幾乎都會講中文，因為在那裏不會講中文，一般不會有人理你，且他們給我感覺較為謙遜。我們這裡的洋人多為母國混不下去來台灣騙吃騙喝的，素質較低劣(我鄰居就是其中一個，娶台灣女生無正職，待十年以上還是不會說中文)，他們給我的感覺是把我們當次等殖民地人種，試問尊重當地文化是否應該學當地語言?但他們知道台灣人會迎合他們用英文才多數不肯學習中文，不過這只是我個人感受不代表所有在台灣的外國人都這樣，影片裡面這位女士就很優秀。最後誠如您所說，英文是強勢語言，懂英文看得世界更寬廣，網路上的資料百分之八十都是英文，我查東西如中文查不到查英文都會有答案的。

很感動有外國人願意在臺灣生活，臺灣一堆人說臺灣是鬼島，萬萬稅、交通地獄等問題，難道其他國家就沒有嗎？臺灣稅沒有很重，兩三萬就可以有基本生活水準了。
為什麼有很多來了那麼久的外國人不會說中文？絕大部分是不想學，因為臺灣會用英文對話，這是臺灣人尊重他，而他可能不在乎。很多外國人學兩三年就可以對話了。
简体字对外国人都是天书。更不用说繁体了。
