Well, similar thing was done in another optional boss fight in a different Megami Tensei game (a party-wide OHKO that comes without warning, and there are very few ways to get around it, *all* of which require you to know it's coming in advance)
It's likely the most difficult (and asinine) fight in the entire series, bar none.

What makes it better is that the voice actors are married in real life

Tip: If you have a computer, try to download OpenEmu, it's an emulator that works for a lot of games for kinda old consoles, I'm actually playing Persona 3 Portable with that; it should run fine in almost every computer

Demifiend is a badass, but if you kill Cu Chulaan and get pixie to use all her sp, you can start using buffs/debuffs effectively. Just don't let any one demon get in 50 non-dekaja/dekunda turns or it gets futile. No, the real battle is the mind numbing noise grinds.
Demifiend would annihilate Elizabeth in a 1on1 fight.
Wow, you are a really good Lets Player it seems. A soothing voice, good research, propper sound editing and a way to make me watch the whole video (while i was only planning to skip and see only the dialogue) are a real recipe for success :D .

Actually in Portable (I don't know if it was in FES), you also got the Omnipotent Orb. Effect I believe was basically "block ANY attack except for Almighty attacks".
I would've been hilarious if when you could've done Armageddon, you accidentally clicked another move and lost
I was so stressed when I beat her, I almost thought I was going to do it. I looked away for a second and heard the high counter activating. I had like 520 MP left so I almost didnt get to use armageddon.
I managed to give my Orpheus Telos: Thunder Reign + Elec Amp + Elec Boost + Mind Charge + High Counter + Megidolaon + Brave Blade + Victory Cry.

+ConnectedSims23 Why not Power Charge instead of Elec Boost since you have Brave Blade?
***** Elec Boost stacks with Elec Amp in order to have a more powerful Thunder Reign. On the other hand, that Brave Blade is a bonus of sorts since physical attacks aren't as great as Elec and physicals aren't really effective against Elizabeth.

i just notice she using cards not a gun so that means she had her sister's main character power for personas!
If you notice during fusions and when getting Personas they're cards. She's taking out the cards from the compendium. And it's not the same as P4 cause in P4 they break the cards. Also sorry for commenting 3 years later...
I'll throw my thoughts in 5 years later and note how every single Persona user after P2 had to use a medium to summon their Persona(s) - Evokers, Compendiums, Cards, removing their masks, etc. Even Strega, who technically don't use one, have to use suppressants to avoid _dying_ by their Persona, due to them breaking the natural laws.
It could be that Philemon just made it harder for Personas to be Summoned, so as to minimise chances for another Innocent Sin situation. Not like he'll ever actually explain why things like this and the Wild Card suddenly came into existence anyway...

And I agree with you. To me, Lizzie is the second hardest super boss in SMT history(her original P3 incarnation to be exact, because as far as I remember, there's no Orpheus Telos there, nor the Lucifer Blade). Demi-fiend still takes the title of hardest, though. Another boss worth mentioning is Lucifer (and his Megidoladyne) in Devil Survivor.

@@Fermin-hw5pd nope- Devil Survivor Lucifer had an exclusive Megidoladyne skill that was basically Megidolaon on steroids. It’s never been in any other game to my knowledge.

Why does the protagonist use evokers, but Elizabeth uses cards like the characters in Persona 4?

+Strangething one time i readed that with the evokers they can summon their personas wherever they want (you can see a proof it in the bad ending of the game when you choose to kill ryoji in new year), but in P4 they only can summon they in the tv world if i remember well

the easiest way to prevent this is to use a calculator and figure out when she has less than 10,000 hp and then use Armageddon

I'm late to this party and discussion but the announcement of Persona 3 Reload reignited my desire to re-familiarize myself with this game and compare notes with re-make when it releases on February 2nd. This fight has me curious how the remake will handle it; will they adapt it in identical fashion or make some creative changes and if they keep it mostly the same, will they at least inform players of the hidden rules you have to abide by so you don't get punished with an instant wipe out?
Another question I have regarding Infinity fusion spell is: I noticed that neither Vishnu nor Ananta had spell master in their builds; you said the spell is based on a percentage but would Spell Master have cut that percentage cost in half if one of the personas had it? I haven't played this game in a long time so I can't remember some of the little details like that.
Anyway, I'm excited for remake and how they're going to implement everything. Good job beating this boss; it definitely didn't look easy even with your ample preparation efforts taken.

my set for this:
- mind charge+ resist fire helel to start off. I wasnt smart enough to get the auto skills like did but hey, it works.
- niflheim on surt during jack frost's turn. My orpheous telos had thunder reign and neflheim but not the amp skills (I fused him before seeing the battle).
- heal on thor. You dont want to be surprised by a shock + crit and get murdered (this happened to me twice but still didnt die).
-thunder reign on cu chulainn. safest turn ever.
- heal on my bro metatron.
- attack alice. just sword attack, whatever.
- mind charge or heal with an alilat that has null poison and unshaken will during nebiros.
- spell master infinity.
repeat. carry spell master on satan as well. I made this set because I loved my orpheus telos and didnt want to refuse him so I kept seeing how to work around it. he had neiflheim+thunder reign+mediarahan+unshaken will+sharp student+morning star+spell master+victory cry.
Fun fact, if you do this fight in Persona 3 Portable as the female protagonist, they didn't record new lines for Fuuka at the start of the battle. So basically trans Theo canon pog

Which of your prerequisite personas for Orpheus Telos had the Thunder Reign, Elec Amp, Unshaken Will, and Counter?
Elizabeth is *THE* hardest Persona boss of all time mainly because of the preparation involved
1. It's gonna take you a day or two to make that perfect Orpheus Telos
2. Survive Elizabeth till the end
3. Pray you get the 20% counter ftw
The counter wasn’t made 20% until after P3. In P3 I believe it was 50%

I played it before through PCSX2, but you needed a beast of a PC, cause the game seemed to be one of the more heavier games to emulate.

Relying on High Counter to activate or not activate on a specific physical attack is such a risky move to make (it has a high chance to go either way). I don't think I would ever use a strategy that involves any luck at all to win, because I know I have the worse possible luck that has ever existed and would automatically lose in anything that is the least bit luck related! Would you have lost if that first physical attack that you were talking about had been countered?
And I have a couple more questions. Is it even possible to beat Elizabeth without using Armageddon? Also, what makes the Elizabeth fight in P3P easier than in FES?
it is actually proven to have a higher success rate using this method than beating her the "normal way", and yes but I strongly advise you have it, and lastly skill cards make all of p3p and golden for that matter stupid easy

Satan serves Yahweh and Helel doesn't, there are no similarities other than they are both Figures in Judueo Christianity
JohneAwesome Helel is the jewish name for Lucifer, the fallen angel who later came to become Satan. So they are actually the same figure.
Idk the stories and stuff, but theres helel, lucifer, and satan. Helel and lucifer like very similar while satan is a snake with 6 tits. I have a hard time believing satan is also helel/lucifer
Luke Blackwood in Shin Megami Tensei (and Jewish belive) are satan and lucifer 2 different beings, satan being gods fatefull servant and lucifer leads the fallen angels

I'm DYING to fight Elizabeth in P3F. I'm actually on my second playthrough and me being the idiot I am, I started the second cycle on Hard mode. Aaaand I don't have Orpheus Telos. Is there any sort of recommendation as to the Personas I should use in Orpheus' place? I know I need Satan, Helel, Ananta, and Vishnu, and I have them all (they cost me a fortune to withdraw and fuse, by the way...) and Messiah is useful for healing with Salvation in the event that I should be poisoned (Also cost me a damn fortune, and gonna cost me a LOT MORE since I have to re-fuse him to get the armor and stuff, as well as Alilat to get the Divine Pillar, why didn't I do all this in my first playthrough, I wonder), but is there any other Persona you would recommend to someone who does not have access to Orpheus Telos?
if you go to monad money should never be a issue the chests there give you a lot of yen

Oh, no, the money isn't the issue, because aside from chests I can just spam battles and sell whatever I get. My main problem is finding a Persona that would be useful in place of Orpheus Telos, because I couldn't be bothered to try doing the Social Link run. Should have, just to get O.T., but too much work.
I liked how meaningful this gameplay is, and how peaceful your voice is. That was a pleasure to watch, take care.

+mikeylambda1322 no since a lot of it is just grinding up to level 99 fusing the lucifer sword and having the right personas to beat her, which is a very tedious process

When you say that Elizabeth was the only superboss in a Shin Mugami Tensei game that you hadn't defeated at the time, does that mean that you played all of the games and beat everything else, or just beat every one in the ones you played? If it's the former, then dang, that's a TON of dedication.

Thank god. It's just to me the PQ Actress has Elizabeth sounding human with a slight touch of overinterest in something, (say like obsessiveness), but the P3FES one makes her sound like some kind of alien.

Very nicely done. I could've sworn you could just Armageddon her in this version (much like the Reaper), but I guess not? The fight is pretty similar in Reload, though a bit harder. Thankfully there's an accessory in that version to nullify all status ailments, so that goes a long way.

Yeah, he's probably one of the strongest bosses in video game history, let alone being the strongest in SMT history. And he's pretty much the most insulting boss in SMT history, too. xD
not2shabby SMT2 Satan (Finger of Death spamming) is very horrible too.
Non-avoidable instant-kills (tetraja/tetraja rock are useless) every turn. And he has a excellent evade rate, plus, (almost) every atack of hits all the party. And looots of HP .__.
You need to spam samarecarms (some turns various times) on your party, and pray for he to not kill all ressurector of your team in one roll. Or both, Aleph and Hiroko, which gives you instant game over.
If you have a Anubis with Praying (causes massive damage on enemy after some turns of concentration, but also damage your party) and is lucky, you can defeat him without many problems. Extra bonus if you go Chaos and has Lucifer on the team. If not...good luck

I play Portable near exclusively, and I’m curious, is Elizabeth able to be fought on P3P? If not I can play FES, I just prefer Portable as my primary.

Oh man I was super into how intense you were in beating my sweet Elizabeth. I love persona but I have never beat her and you are right you are a cool kid.
What did you use to get satan with spell master and victory cry?
Best way too get victory cry is via Shiva or Beelzebub. Beelzebun is a devil max arcana required. For spell master i believe you have to pass that down with beelzebub or shiva from another persona.
I dedicated a whole playthrough to trying to max all social links and beat her. I couldn't max em all out so I had to spend over 20 hours grinding to set up Messiah, Chi You, and Anubis. Twice during the fight she got me to less than 100 hp and it scared the daylights out of me. I did this all in portable btw I think its even harder in FES.
these out of nowhere instakill megidolaons and her healing back up to full are just cheap bullshit and plain unfair.
A question though, what happens if you just spam armaggedon?

Managed to beat her yesterday using this strategy but not as strong as your set up. I still had Lucifer’s Blade, Armor of Light, and Divine Pillar equipped.
However, due to the way fusion works, I was only able to make an Orpheus Telos (with max stats) with Thunder Reign, High Counter, and Unshaken Will. Most of the damage I did to her came from reflects from High Counter.
Also, is Johne doing this on normal or hard? Because I was on hard and I found myself taking significantly more damage than he did even though Orpheus Telos had max endurance. About 250 every time she casted an elemental spell.
i dont remember perfectly but I dont do super bosses on the standard difficulties most the time

not really just a overhaul on how it looks and in the FES version there is more personas to find and collect
Can someone explain to me why it seems to be so difficult for Yukari at the beginning of the game to summon her persona (with the evoker?)... I know it sound like i am overthinking it but... i still don't understand what make it so difficult?!... is it really just a plot thing so the protagonist would save her when the shadows first attack?
If I remember correctly the evoker tricks the brain into thinking that they're about to die meaning that even if you know that it's not a real gun it still takes a lot of courage to use it. We see in the first few minutes of the game that Yukari is struggling to use the evoker most likely because she's too scared. Although possibly after the MC saved her by using his persona she was finally was able to muster up the courage to use the evoker
@@frostlover Thank you Frost. i found the beginning so emotional but yet, when i played the 'intro part' i just can't figure why Yukari would be so scared of using it?!... After a long time into the game, i thought maybe it was because she was afraid she would find out about his father, but again, it makes no sense since this is why she join the group in the first place!... So i was confuse... i still believe this is not so 'good' an explanation since they perfectly know it is not a real gun so why or how does it trick the brain?... But thanks for giving at least an explanation that make sense enough!
i also think its a plot device. the whole gun thing is a jojo reference anyway and koromaru and aigis dont even use them.
@@Mngalahad Koromaru and Aigis do use an Evoker it's just not in the form of a gun. It's stated that Koromaru's is his collar and Aigis has one built into her. While the Evoker is meant to be refrence to JoJo it still plays its role in the themes and sybolism in 3

Which difficulty are you playing? She hits like brick in Portable Hard and Maniac. Definitely not 90 for physical attack, even with Orpheus Telos and Divine Pillar. That's why Divine Pillar is not recommended for those modes. Better to use Berserker's Seal or Barbaric Bracers.
Victory Cry is redundant in that battle, though.

I don't get why Johne says this fight is a joke and easier in the PsP version. Is it because you can just buy the armageddon skill from the start if you have enough materials?
Having access to Armageddon doesn't automatically mean you'll win

Think about it for a moment...if Elizabeth doesn't allow you to bring anyone else to the fight, then...what's the point of having Ma-x-dyne spells that are no different in name and appearance from the normal ones...?
I feel that it would make more sense for her to use the single-target Severe-tier elemental spells (albeit with reduced status chances for two of them...just maybe), or even unique animations for the buffed elemental spells she already has (something in the vein of what her older sister Margaret uses in P4).
That's just my personal opinion. ;)
I know i'm late with this but how do you unlock this fight? do you need to do so many Elizabeth requests to unlock this fight or do you have to do something else?

I'm not sure if it is only in Portable, if you challange this fight in new game plus before getting Fuuka the dialog at the Beginning still plays Fuuka saying her lines but in battle it's still Mitsuru

I went through the comments and didn't see anyone say how the let's play isn't really complete. You didn't do The Answer, unless you did as a separate let's play and RUclips's being dumb and not suggesting it to me.
All of these ultimate boss fights have the support of the group saying something about them then acknowledging their power and Saying something along the lines of “wait...who IS this?!”
I'm not sure about something. So when I beat the game for the first time it asked me if I wanted to start a new game plus and I did. But if I decline, can I continue playing after I beat Nyx? Is there anyway to continue to play after you defeat Nyx?
after you enter tarturus on jan 31st there is no way to exit unless you do new game plus and start the year all over again
So the game ends no matter what? Theres no way to keep playing after you beat nyx? even if youre on a new game plus? I thought I could keep playing and finish up my social links after I beat nyx, or if I picked the bad ending or something.
Kenny M yes the game warns you of this multiple times that once you enter the tower you cant leave

I honestly don't get why they expect us to actually take note of how much damage we cause. That's just fake difficulty. Margaret and the others are better balanced.

i think she just heals to full health and then you can chip away her health afterwards, because she wont heal again. just that armagedon deals 9999 dmg, you can one shot her before she heals.

Sheesh. Even Nyx rarely hits for that hit. Mostly because you don't have to be really overleveled for Nyx. I beat him with Ken, Akihiko and Aigis all at level 40-42. So...Yeah.
