When my party first got into Barovia, i put this music on. One of the players decided to go off road and into the forest to roleplay some elf voodoo ritual or something and then the wolf howls started. It proper freaked them out when i sent some dire wolves chasing Her out of the forest. It probably saved the campaign as i was really nervous and awkward during the pre-Barovia events. First time DM. Much love for making this!
Threw this on as I narrated the mists rolling in, and my party's press into the woods to get back to a no-name village for a pre-COS hook. They'd just burnt through most of their resources, and decided against camping out for a long rest, so they're already spent after a couple sessions roleplaying and fighting. I hadn't listened to the track before putting it on, so when the wolves started howling after some drawn out narration, it really got my players in a mood, and I'd be lying if it didn't tickle the back of my neck too. Thanks for the wonderful sound engineering you've got going on here!
Thank you so much for this background music! it helped so much with giving a great ambience to my players when I gm CoS for them

your work is amazing. Thank you so much for your restraint, ability to create mood and have zero background music. Incredible. /off to find your Patreon
Good idea! But the swirling, claustrophobic fog is so thick that it's pretty impossible to see, so you have to, with each nervous step, feel in front of you to avoid bumping into something! Everything is so silent except for your faint sounding footsteps underfoot...
@@menslady125eif2590 @menslady125 okay, we need to pause the game first because I need to ask you vital details about your character. What is your characters full name, gender, age, height and weight?

Would it be possible for you to create some variants of this one by chance? I've been using this track CONSTANTLY (as well as all of your others) in my CoS campaign, but the part with the wolves feels just a little over the top and tends to break my group's immersion. I would just seek around and loop certain parts, but the bot I use on discord makes this very difficult. Perhaps a "ravens only" and "wolves only" version? I also think a night time one would be very nice. Perhaps decrease the frequency of or remove the animal sounds, add in more insects, breezes, twigs snapping - that sort of thing. Your quiet forest at night track does the job as well, but I think you'd be able to do some great work with a specifically CoS flavored version of that. Regardless, thanks so much for your work, you've helped bring my games to the next level. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Hey. Thanks for the support! Thats totally possible, and I was thinking the same myself when I was using it in a game that "I need one of these without wolves".
Felt the same thing. Several times my players made out-of-game comments about the wolves howling. I think they would be super cool in the background, but it seems like they're standing amongst the party when it happens. Thanks for all the great content!
New subscriber. I love your work. Will you be doing any soundtracks with things such as Orcs marching through a forest or other such ideas? Your small battle one really fits a niche.
I can just imagine. These soundtracks add just another great tool/dimension to tabletop RPGs. There is a revival going on in the Tabletop World of gaming whether it be games such as D&D, Pathfinder, etc. or other games like Dix It or the old tried and true like Monopoly or Card Games; I see such a resurgence. Your work allows a DM/GM to add even greater depth.
Looks like i'll be starting it at the end of April, but i've read through most of the book (which is why i've been making the soundscapes ready for it). I'm in the middle of setting up a screen in the middle of our table so i've been looking into running Roll20 at the table too.
Sounds like a wicked set up! I'm literally headed to my game right now. They're about to enter Wave Echo Cave, so you can bet your Soundscapes will be in use!
Rather scary, honestly! I haven't had my first session yet, but I'm studying the dungeon master's guide and the campaign as much as possible so my players have fun. I've got a bit of anxiety DMing for the first time. I think I might be more scared than they will be haha!
I always use your stuff in the backgrounds of my sessions with my six 12-year-olds. They want to start recording their sessions and putting them on RUclips, but I’m afraid that the microphones will pick up these tracks and my video will get removed. Any ideas?

Thankyou! I really love hearing how these ambiences play out in games. A lot of people have had the party panic once the wolves start too 😂
Everytime I Iook for ambiences, this man never lets me down.
This is exactly what I was looking to use in my Mirkwood campaign.
I used this last night in my CoS campaign and the wolves are a meme at my table now

@8:30, the chills, jeez. My players are exploring the werewolf caves tonight. Hope they're ready.
Okay, thank you so much for them not being 3 hours long for discord bots
It probably is not a coincidence :D
Damn I wish I had had this 6 months ago during part of my campaign
Same
Campaign?

thank you for all of this, my players will love your work!
Is that a Kenku I hear? I wonder what it's planning, hhhhmmm?
These are great! I'd love if you do other campaigns like Forge of Fury and stuff
I do plan to work through loads of the other campaigns, When I get to Tales from the Yawning Portal i'll be making it :)

what a terrible night for a curse ?
I'm scrolling through parts of this. I've heard an instance of wolves, but otherwise just silence with crows. What else is in this?
Ooh! I see you've started your Curse of Strahd campaign. How are you finding DMing?

@@son0fhades858 How'd it go/going?!
These videos are awesome! Does anyone know, is there a way to get these ambience soundtracks on roll20?
8:30 sounds more like random dogs than wolves. My players laughed at it. That part is way too loud, way too long.
Can you please make one of inside the ravenloft tavern
Will a Curse of Strahd album ever be for sale?
Already is - check my bandcamp.
What is that?
Is there a way to download this for roll20?
Snaptube Bruh
@@_leper.4155 I couldn't get it under the 20mb that roll 20 requires

Something that might have worked during the silent spots... a little nervous breathing, a gulp, and a faint heartbeat. 😁 Otherwise, awesome job!
the sounds of actual people would be a weird addition to this- you don't need to hear yourself gulping in the ambient track, that's silly
Why do all of these insist on over using crows?
Anyone wanna play the original Ravenloft adventure?
