Hi Everyone!
I compiled some footage from a road tip I did in January to Eastern Sierra. Main purpose of the trip was to get some fresh air at one of my favorite places in California. I haven't planned much since I know the area pretty well. It was gorgeous as always.
My only issue was seeing some spots becoming extremely popular. I remember going to Alabama Hills years ago and staying for 2 days and only seeing one or two other cars. I can say TikTok culture invaded the area. Especially in the afternoon it was crazy noisy.
For camera nerds
I mainly used my R6 with 15-35mm f2.8. I haven't used the 16mm or 35 mm primes. I don't like to change lenses in desert. Zoom was a better choice this time.
For telephoto shots, I had my good old RX100 VII. I have a love and hate relationship with that camera. It did a decent job for the most part. Especially for YT or posting on IG it is more than enough. It might be hard to believe but I never owned a real telephoto lens for a long time. I bought Sony 70-200 twice and sold twice in a very short period of time. I feel like I don't use telephoto lenses enough to make that big of an investment. On the other hand when I see a full moon like the one in this video it just makes no sense to not have one available. These trips make me question myself using RX100 as my telephoto camera.
I might buy a new telephoto lens again. Maybe the RF 100-400mm. We'll see.
I am extremely happy with R6. It is not the best image quality but the most practical camera I've ever owned. So easy to create. I didn't even feel like I was working hard to make this video. R6 makes everything so much easier for me. White balance, AF, Colors all on point.
My only wish from Canon is a dual gain output camera in R6 form factor. That would be THE camera. I wouldn't need anything else.
I hope you are all having a great weekend! I am driving to Big Sur in a couple hours. Hoping to get some fresh ocean air.
Cheers!

A roadtrip video from January. This is special since it was the first roadtrip of 2022. Hope u enjoy the video! Cheers!
Writing, of course, is writing, acting comes from the theater, and cinematography comes from photography. The art of cinematography is something that most people don’t take seriously. But, I believe this is one of the most important parts to filmmaking. I respect the work of the folks behind and in front of the camera. But most importantly, I love a good story - a good story with great cinematography. I appreciate your work
Hey Kasesa! Thanks a lot for the comment. I wish I had more time to create and possibly work on more in depth stories. Who knows maybe someday :)
@@barparildar i just can't wait to see that then :)
Your work always gets a thumbs up from me.... Love this !!
Thank you so much for the support John! 🙏🏻
Always this mysterious and ethereal atmosphere in your videos, with the musics that accompanies them. I personally love that kind of climate. Bravo really. 👍
Hey! Thank you for the continuous support! 🙏🏻😍
Awesome film captures natures calm and soothing energy as well as I’ve ever seen
Thank you very much! 🤙🏻
Sehr sehr Cool!!!!!!!!!
Thank u!
Beautiful video. What is your location?
is this 24fps @ 1/50 shutter? some of the footage almost likes like its 24fps with a little bit higher shutter speed. not saying it looks bad, it all looks incredible but Im just wondering. maybe Im just not use to seeing nice 4k footage😅
Hey Thanks! Yeah in general I don't use VNDs for my personal fun stuff. Some scenes have high some has even lower than 1/50th shutter
İzlerken orada olma hissini fazlasıyla verdi, müthiş!
Cok cok tesekkurler! Buna cok benzer yeni videolar da yakinda geliyor
Very nice! ✨🍀
Thank you! 😊
Great video!
I would like to know about Canon R6 files if you need a proxy to edit.
I’m choosing a new camera and I would your opinion between R6 and X-T4.
Thank you! I don't use proxies for R6 since I use an M1 mac. It runs pretty good. I really don't like to compare cameras. Especially with totally different ergonomics and sensor sizes. I think they are both great cameras. One thing I can recommend is deciding on the lenses you would purchase before jumping on to any camera system. R6 has less lens options and most RF lenses are extremely expensive. Fuji has more options. Also usually lighter and smaller.
Love this bro. Outstanding work.
Hey Donnie! Thank you! Cheers!
Do you have any classes. This is so peaceful and beautiful footage. I want to be able to film like this too with my R6
Hey Thank you Trinidad! I am making videos as hobby at the moment. Unfortunately no classes at the moment
Do you prefer canon r6 over Sony a7iv? Great content.
Thank you man! Both great cameras. If someone sent me an A7iv I would be happy to use it as well. Main reason I am using R6 is my girlfriend liking skin colors on r6 out of the camera. It makes our life easier with her social media stuff.
Always jump on RUclips when I see one of your videos freshly uploaded. Also dig the style and we use similar equipment
Hey Dan! Thank you so much! I might be moving on a different system soon but I really enjoyed using R6
Nice video bro!
Thank u!!!
Cool! Good job💪🏼📷
Thanks! 🤙🏻
So good! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank uuu! 🙏🏻
Brilliant Video as always! Any overheating issues with the R6?
Thank you Kush! I never had any overheating issues. I don’t shoot long clips.
Great footage again. You are the master for beautiful color grading. Spherical, with nice music and wonderful nature.
Always great to read your comments Paul! Thank you again! I tried different color grading techniques in this video. Some days were super overcast and boring. Had to work harder than usual for color grading /)
New sub here! Found your channel by researching the 15-35. Love your footage! Mind sharing how you color grade you footage? And how were you able to keep it consistent look between your drone footage and the b-roll. It seems they all were from the same camera. Nice job! Stay inspiring!
Hey thank you! My color grading approach changes from shot to shot and even more in every new video. Some of the scenes you see have an incredible amount of nodes in Resolve, some of them only has minor adjustments. Mainly, I start with a color space transform, then do white balance, highlight, shadows, mid tones etc. After that I work on local adjustments such as curves, glow, skin tones etc. In the end I usually add one of my luts. It can be from 10% to 100% in the mix depending on the camera and light. Matching drone with cameras is probably the most time consuming edit I make. I play with color space transform in Resolve to have a similar log look to my camera look.
@@barparildar Gonna try to imitate your work flow from Final Cut. But your talent with color is incredible!
@@esmpmedia8586 Thank you again! Not a pro colorist but I like experimenting. I learn sth new everyday!
You should create a Lut pack. I will buy it!
Hey one question if I May! Do you apply the canon Lut (from canon) before doing your color grading, or do you start from scratch on your own?
🙌
😍🙏🏻
Brilliant as usual bro. Loved the color grading and vibe to this one. Stunning scenery
Thank you man! It was probably the most chill roadtrip I had in years. I feel like it translated into some scenes :)

LOVE this! This is real film making my friend. Fantastic stuff.
Thank u so much for watching Dan! Nice to see it us resonating with people like you. I wish I had more time to create more stuff like this.
@@barparildar I can only imagine the editing time alone. Great stuff!
