In war 110 my regiment did a lot of things, but I myself built an obs base watching the border in Ash Fields to help detect and deter partisans. It lived almost the entire war right up to the end, and I later learned it took an enemy Field Marshall's big operation to sneak in and blow it up. Probably my biggest compliment as a builder and logi

The instant gratification you get is from frontline logi. Delivering long awaited supplies to a front bunker and hearing all the boys whooping in VC, that gets you hooked.

I need some kind of statistical mechanics, for example, to find out what happened to most of the materials that I delivered, to see the buildings that I influenced, to see information on the map in which tanks or ammunition that I made helped. I like logistics games in general, but I really enjoy making frontline deliveries in Foxhole.
I spent a good three hours a few days ago making continuous deliveries to a heavy fighting zone. Just looking at the bunker inventory, bringing ammo for guns that were empty, guns for ammo sitting idle, shirts and medical supplies, crates of grenades and gas...
One run I delivered a full truckload of shirts, ammo, and grenades to a town base that was on the verge of being surrounded. That town base held out for forty minutes until other groups brought forward some tanks for a counterattack. I don't know if what I delivered helped, I was too busy driving back and forth, but I do know that every time I arrived back at the frontline EVERYONE was happy to see me.

I like that there are so many roles and so many things you can do in Foxhole, and all of them matter. When even one is missing, you feel it. Keep doing what you're doing, even if other people and even yourself think that you're not needed. Very gratifying to play long enough to see your own impact.

Nice! That's the cool thing about sticking to a specific hex or area when playing a war. Because normally major clans and just vet players stick to certain sides of the map, left, middle or right. I do this as well for a majority of wars. Sometimes I will spawn on the other side just to change it up. Like going to Heartlands yesterday was a big change up for me this was since I've been mainly far east this war.
And nope. I still haven't found a game that scratches this specific niche like Foxhole does.

one time in the early war i was running shirts to the frontline cause i was bored of building my Facility, so i grabed a truck filled it with shirts and went to the front, just a few km north of the town where i was heading there was a ravine, perfect spot to ambush, and ambush the collies did, but they failed. I was Speeding like a maniac trying to get to my goal as the town was just minutes from falling due to no shirts, i came in to the town full speed, smoking truck, almost about to explode. Almost drove over one of our guys, did an evasive maneuver and crashed side ways into the town hall almost fliping over, the 30+ ppl there cheered saing "HOLYSHIT! a logi truck managed to come troughT!!, Clear THE WAY!". as i put a truck full of shirts into the town hall single handedly safeing that town.
One other time in a different war, me and my friends found a MASSIVE public rocket factory with a whole field filled with HE rockets. so we got our selfs some light tanks and made them into these tiny rocket tanks, grabbed 3 pallets of HE ammo and delivert them to a town NE of Loch mor hex, something something called "West......", after that we went back and got the tanks, and drover there in a convoy of 6. When we arrived the ppl there cheered as finaly something came to break the stalemate. The collies had built impressive Defense and 2 big dug in Anti tank cannons that were holding back our advance. orignial plan was to crack the Concrete bunkers on the front but we instead pounded to emplaced guns into dust, allowing allied armor and infranty to attack the bunker base. Having read the wiki we mistakenly belived that our tanks would outrange AI arty by like 50m, wich it kinda does but also not. so we attacked the bunker base but our spotter didnt confirm any hits so we stayed put, and boom, we got counter shelled and lost 3 of the 6 tanks. then we spent the rest of the night firing the remaining 200 rockets we had at infantry.

I can definitely confirm staying in a single hex/area motivates easily. When I started a few wars ago, us Wardens had The Baths as a main logi base. I worked there soing frontline delivery and reinforcing defences up until the Collies besieged the island and took it. I fought to defend it and even surprised myself calling it home.
My 2 last actions during that siege : blow up the arty that was still present on the island to prevent it from falling in enemy hands, and rush a tank with a pistol.

Spent an hour yesterday just trying to get into the game as war 112 kicked off, while waiting for members of my regi to get in I spent the next hour helping set up key points around key resource fields, managed to smash 20k+ coal after and just threw it into the nearby coal refinery, I was 1 of 20+ people at that field doing the same to help kick start the coke production, as a newer player of less then 8 months I know they’ll make good use of my efforts making assembly materials to later make small gauge locomotives, rail cars and so on, which are essential this early into developing later production needs as time goes on and tech unlocks.
If you find you have no direction or know not what to do, do something, whether it be scrooping salvage, coal or sulphur it all helps in one way or another, run logi to the front or stockpile supplies into frontline and back line bases and bunkers, those radios don’t make themselves.
If you arn’t keen or familiar with fighting on the frontline ask for assistance to learn, people are more then willing to teach basic combat tips and tricks (wardens have taught me lots even if I’m fighting against them as a collie), and if your are not one for the front learn to QRF in the back lines or friendly front territory, it makes for some hilarious moments.
Remember, you matter, and there is more then one way to help, play multiple roles and you’ll be more versatile then you thought possible.

Great seeing scrooping as the first example, it's basically the start of every supply chain in the game. As mainly a solo player I focus on the Bmats/Emats production for public use. Some wars I would just fill a reserve stockpile with Emats and Bmats to deliver to midline towns with factories. (mostly to blemish my beloved) There's plenty of things a public scrooper can scroop for, you can have multiple public refinery queues going in different logi hubs/towns and the refinery has 9 different queues, 5 of them being more useful for public use or you can be a msup slave.
I swear you can make a whole damn video about scrooping or long reddit post about it if someone scrooped long enough lol. This was a banger of video for any new players out there! Robert only posts certified bangers. o7

Story for the logi who needs to hear it:
As mentioned before I play as “a pigeon” in game and make bird sounds almost exclusively. and I was doing transport logistics on the Charlie server to help the 47th assault on tempest beach. When we just finished the first few tanks, I went back to basin soinach to pick up the first few made for the landing assault.
After 40 minutes of sailing we realized a problem: the landing beach we used as a staging area for our cranes was being held by partisans. So moments away from landing, I hear in local chat “ we must protect the bird with our lives!” As the rally cry for an entire squad of soldiers to clear a beachfront for me.
The look of about 13+ dudes securing a landing zone, gun boat escort and serious coordination just to help the person who’s gone out of their way to help them fight the previous two hours made me tear up with joy.
That player they’re working so hard for? is YOU.

One thing I also like about public logi is that it can make a huge difference in other logi players’ day.
Maybe that fellow logi player you see at the factory is the player with only half an hour to spare. You refining public materials and producing public supplies can be the difference between them delivering a truck load worth of logi and a flatbed or freighter worth of logi.
Public logi is the essence of the game, imo. You don’t necessarily have to coordinate to be a well oiled machine. This works even better with regulars. If you know a few logi players who are often doing their routinely deliveries or backline tasks, you can help them by producing or refining things you know they often need. Even if they aren’t the ones who grab those materials you produced, it can add onto the other public stuff available to everyone. And that can make a difference in how much of a difference they make that day.
Public logi makes a difference in the difference other players make. The beauty of the butterfly effect.

  • @des802
    @des802 6 месяцев назад +1

but all it takes is one bad experience to ruin everything.
heres my story on why i will never do logi again.
when i do logi i supply the factory towns near the front (same or 1 hex away)
as a solo i dont bother with making facilities, just refine some bmats and emats
i know thats really useful, can make what you need if the base components are there.
on one day i was suppling a factory town that was eating resources, far more then usual.
didn't think much of it, happens from time to time, i think of it as rush hour.
well after scooping for a solid 8 hours that factory was still empty,
wondering what was happening i decided on my last delivery of the day i would watch the dock
made my delivery and deposited my flatbed, pulled out my truck and waited.
after about 10 mins, a ton of trucks came...... all of the same clan......
they took everything from the dock, went to the factory, stayed there for a while (making stuff)
and off they went, i followed them......
they did not go to the front line in fact they went a hex father away.
went to a storage depo and left, i looked into the depo and saw nothing was added.
then it hit me, the last 8 hours this clan has been taking all of the public supplies i've been depositing, makeing stuff out of them
then putting into private storage, hex's away, not gonna be used anytime soon if ever.
it was a clan, they have many people to get resources yet they take the public resources near the front.....
we can't take anything the clans make because THEY made it but when solo's make stuff for the front seems clan can take that.
just one more tale to add to clans are bad.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  6 месяцев назад

Sorry this happened to you! A few things to note is that you can make your own private stock piles in seaports and storage depots. and if those items were crated the clans can't take them and put them into private stockpiles. They can take the crates and put them into bunker bases to turn into actual items yes. But if they were in public stockpile anyone would do that.
I've been in clans and take public resources all the time. That's why they are public, anyone can use them. Again any player can make their own private stockpile if they want. You don't need to be in a clan to make a private stockpile.
Again sorry that happened to you and thanks for sharing!

    • @des802
      @des802 6 месяцев назад

I'm not gonna use private stockpiles because then only I could use them, I can't scoop, make things and deliver to the front at the same time.
if I do everything it all gets done so slowly that nothing gets done at all.
I don't know what the front will need in the future and I can't make everything as a solo, so I make the core parts and people can make what they need at that time.
when a clan doesn't come in and take everything that system works really well, all nearby front lines get what they need in 10-15 mins.
for the longest time I've wanted a change that if any part of something was public at one point that it can't be put into a private stockpile.
that wouldn't change anything really, just stop clans from taking public stuff and forcing them to get the parts themselves if they want their stuff private.
best they could do is fill up their bunker but we can see that and take them away if they overfill.
I don't see the difference in them taking my 8 hours of scoop for their own thing, and someone walking into a base and taking their tank.
yet so many times clans scream that they earned that tank?....... it's outside, it's public now.
yet they build around it to try and stop people from taking them then scream on the forums when their tank goes missing.
that's a double standard, I wont hear that a tank is more important, if public stuff is available for everyone to use no matter the circumstances,
then every tank must be free to take as well.
if we are all equal then this is how it must be, or are clans more equal then others?

lol! Not true. Without combat/infantry type players Foxhole would just be a bunch of logi players stuck in a forever war.

Frontline isnt unimportant either.

lol truck and container one is very accurate. 200 salvage = 100 bmats for one logi truck. 400 salvage could get you two containers. But yes for building you might need bit more bmats.
And honestly if you have anything in Foxhole that is making you log on every day you may either need to get help from others or clan or maybe not just do that project? Msups are much better from what I can see this war unless of course you are building a huge facility still or mass fortress. In that case you still should be working with a group.

"-Every clan on the Warden faction falls in line with the bureaucracy of WERCS"
Is it just me or is WERCS is a bit of a broken system?

Yes and no. Foxhole comes down to communication and working together. Not being toxic and bossing others around.
If you have an ego problem you are going to have a bad time in Foxhole. The person that said that needs to be checked by the rest of the faction and taken down a notch.
I like the idea of the WERCS system but a few bad eggs can make it crumble pretty easily from an outside perspective.

I'm curious. Why do you use mods on the thumbnail of the video, but not in the actual footage of the video?

I use actual “footage” or pictures from the game like 80% of the time. Pictures or thumbnails with mods just look cooler and are very subtle. Not like I’m promoting a feature that’s not in the game.
      Thanks for your question!

@@RobertLovesGames Fair point. With that logic the video could look cooler with mods too :)
I am one of the creators from some of the mods you may have possibly used. It is just nice to see people enjoy to use it.

@@Seawulfnorsemen I use a lot of the UI mods and sound mod. I don't really like changing the skins in game.
      That's awesome! What mod?
