As a psychologist student, lobotomies genuinely scare me so much. Psychology just looked so bad back then in the 1900's (even if it's a practice that originally started in late 1800's but grew popular later in the 1900's before it was finally banned for a general practice. I was genuinely scared to click this video ngl!😭 Forcing someone into a lobotomy is actually so messed up. Especially since it was far from necessary but this vid is goofy asf and I still love it!

@@Kara-kx9rj Lobotomy is an old surgical practice done that was believed to help cure mental illnesses. It basically severed the connection between the pre frontal cortex of the brain that connected our right and left hemisphere. As a result the brain was split and divided and both sides were unable to communicate with each other. It was basically a special type of needle inserted through above the eyelids all the way in towards the brain. It’s an illegal practice now but in very extreme cases it’s still done if there is a legitimate reason for it like extreme epilepsy (they cut the connection so that the electrical neurone signals don’t pass through both sides of the brain)

A lobotomy is a brain surgery where doctors would use like a fucking icepick, place it right like next to your eyeball (I think,,) and jam that shit in and mess w/ ur brain a lil bit (to get nerdy, they would drill holes into your skull and like disconnect your frontal lobe from your thalamus or however its spelled).
