Just did a driver fitting… I’m a ping guy and was playing g425 Max. I didn’t think I’d end up in a cobra darkspeed X but I did. My average swing speed is 117 mph, 3* out to in, and 3* down with my driver. With my swing characteristics the darkspeed X had the best dispersion and was 5 yards longer than my previous driver. The LS was too low spin to give the carry we wanted and since I do hit down quite a bit I need more spin to keep the ball up in the air.
I've been loving my Dark Speed LS! As a mid handicapper I definitely don't hit middle every time. However, even for being the least forgiving of the 3 models, I am surprised by the strikes I get away with. And it's slightly fade biased for you Jay!
The cobra line of clubs are all excellent. The price is a little better than other brands, though not enough. The performance and their quality are outstanding.
Being honest I have tested other previous Cobra drivers and they just didn't work for me and my strike pattern. The Aerojet and especially the DARKSpeed has been the first Drivers from Cobra in a long time that have reacted the way I was expecting them to do so. For me they have come a long way in a relatively short time 👍🏻
Looks nice, although I prefer glossy on drivers! As you said, it's not the right one for slower swing speeds due to LOOOOW spin! Higher loft probably a life saver, but maybe it's just better for faster speeds...?
Plenty of higher loft options. It's always the case with the same head and changing the speeds. It's the best way through to see how everything reacts for different golfers.... In real terms the lower speeds can always use higher lofts to remedy the spin profiles 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CharlotteK2008 Thanks for the suggestion. I'm very aware that many, many other RUclipsrs have reviewed all four together (or subsets of the four). However, to my knowledge, none has done so with Jay's varying swing speed and full face forgiveness analysis. It's what sets Jay apart. If you know of any RUclipsr that has done that level of detail please do let me know. I'd be very happy to check it out.
Being honest I'd be surprised if there is any differences really between them. Maybe some slight tweaks that would better ball speed across off centre strike locations but it would be marginal. The main thing for me is the Looks and Feel of this driver. Its by far my favourite that Cobra have ever made.
@@AskGolfNut Just got a good deal on a secondhand Aerojet and also much prefer the sound and feel of it to my Epic max ls. Surprised Cobra doesn’t have more players on tour with how well their equipment always tests
Does look a 100% improvement on the Aerojet, Ltdx etc. assume they’ve ditched the wraparound infinity face to make it not look like a beginners driver for anti skying marks?
Not sure on that one but anything to keep it looking more aesthetically appealing as time goes on is a good thing..... A full bag of Darkspeed must be the best looking bag ever :-)
@@AskGolfNut I sold my Radspeed with the wraparound face to a beginner who first go with it after exchanging money, skied it so badly he smashed the carbon crown to pieces. The wraparound obviously not completely sky proof 😁
If they all hit the same distance with your swing, what difference does the appearance make? You judging you? Or are you worried others will judge you. Golf is about enjoyment and self improvement, fresh air and common bonds.
I agree. All subjective. But makes no difference. I have the cobra air X, cobra LTDx and the cobra Darkspeed max drivers. Each in a different bag.’they are all great. But being just a bogey golfer they all play the same for me. Though they need to be hit just a little different position on the face in contact to get a straight flight.
With such a small view count which really surprises me, it's doubtful it's worth the time doing. It's a great club, also the fairways are really really punchy too.... Shame that not more golfers seem bothered by the Cobra equipment 🤷
@SapShootsIdpa the LS is the longest of them but at a forgiveness penalty. If you are someone who hits the middle a lot then it's a possible option... I'm reality though a properly fitted X version should give you most of the distance but with more in the way of Forgiveness when you aren't having the best day 👍🏻
Hi Nick, if the video does well enough on its views and say this comment gets enough likes to show me that people want to see it, then I'll happily spend the time doing the compare. 👍🏻
On the Tour Pro side of things it will massively depend on how much Cobra are willing to spend on buying them. Mizuno have the same thought, that they'd rather the product speaks than having to pay people to use it.... Whether that's the right marketing plan is down to the buying public to determine.... Unfortunately I personally think that unless these companies start to really spend in the way that the likes of Taylormade and Callaway then they'll drowned out in the crown 🤷
@lkae4 not sure on that one, but it's a shame they don't do much better in sales terms with this Driver. It's on balance my favourite of all Cobra drivers... But then ask 10 golfers and get 10 different personal likes and dislikes 😊 👍🏻
PLEASE LIKE and COMMENT Below, I will answer as many as I possibly can 👍
I have not been a Cobra fan but I picked it over all the others; great feel, sound, and distance.
Personally they are my favourite on balance that Cobra have made in a long time 👍🏻

Really enjoyed your review. I was out of town and tried that same driver and was 15 yards longer then my current driver.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Love the look of Cobra drivers. Game the Cobra F9 speedback; and love it!
changing from the Ltdx to the Darkspeed X first crack tomorrow we will see how it fairs.........😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Love this driver, I think people sleep on Cobra but they shouldn't. This could knock my Ping out of the bag.
Would be interested to know how the comparison gets on between your Ping and this 👍🏻

Absolutely agree, I'm unsure why and how they don't sell much much better considering their level of performance and forgiveness 🤷👍🏻
Still loving my f9. Cobra makes great drivers

is the loft adjustable?
Absolutely, they alter - 1.0 - 1.5 Std +1.0 and +1.5 degrees 👍🏻
Awesome looking Driver. Great video🙌

Oh ok. I haven’t seen that driver where I live
Would be great to see a comparison with AI Smoke, 10K Max and QI10 please!
Wowsers, that would be a long video, never done a 4 way compare before 😬😊👍🏻👍🏻
It’s been done so much by other RUclipsrs. Go search

Did you ever hit the Aerojet, and is there any real performance gain? Definitely a visual upgrade in the darkspeed

Did you like the dark speed x or qi10 better
Would have to say the DARKSpeed 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut Very nice. I was leaning toward the dark speed From the stealth 2 plus
DARKSpeed is more stable, the Stealth Plus although quite long was fairly sensitive to off centre strikes 👍🏻

So true
Sexy looking clubs!
Personally agree yet I know people that really don't like the looks 🤷, I, suppose that's the beauty of human likes and dislikes 😊
Worst looking driver out right now.
That's the beauty of subjectivity, one person's diamond is another person's dishwater. Which Driver do you think is the best for looks and feel? 👍🏻
Does seem it's too matte for most. I don't see many in play. Maybe that's why Cobra released a few limited release colors.
