- The Amazing Spider-Man stunt show is a fun little show at Marvel Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure. Spidey field tests some of his equipment. This show demonstrates some cool technology as Spidey is launched high in the air. Does miss it! Animatronic Duo was happy to finally bring it to our friends. I've slowed this down to .25 Playback Speed, and I am still amazed; this is supposed to be an animatronic Spiderman, but it is impressive how it seems to actually work. From the very start of the launch, how it arches its back, then the hand release and arms move forward as the legs swing upward and then over the shoulders, and then how the arms, back, and legs swing backwards but then swing forward again to make the landing -- I'd swear that this is a real human being doing this stunt and not some dummy. In fact, there is a lot more detail to the body movement going on that is either truly remarkable for a dummy, or we are being fooled here in believe it's a dummy when in fact it is a real person... which is it is a real person, that scares me bit too for how seemingly dangerous the stunt is. To actually believe that they could build a dummy this life-like in its flexibility and natural movement as it unleased itself from the harness is quite impressive. Again, if you haven't yet done this, go back and watch the release at .25 Playback Speed a few times, and you will begin to see how lifelike this really is.
It’s truly an amazing animatronic figure. I’ve watched it several times and it captures human movement perfectly. Disney imagineers worked on this for years to get it right. Thanks for your comment!
