The fact Jerma started by saying we need to play more Battleship and then it started a movement that culminated in a Ludwig sponsored Battleship tournament only shows we’re on the correct timeline.
@@RiggedBananaGaming he is one of the smaller streamers in ludwigs circle. Kinda gets overshadowed by the big names/personalities surrounding him despite being one of the most common guests on luds streams, which is unfortunate cause the dude makes great content.
I swear, I started watching, heard Stanz's voice and didn't even think twice until suddenly I realized I'm watching the Egg and not Ludwig and co. how surreal
Watching Ludwig make the fake ship out of mines for sonar to pick up was the most amazing thing I’ve seen on twitch in a while. The title of biggest brain on twitch stays in NLs hands
When NL placed a mine in the 0-radar zone, I thought, "are you kidding me? Why would he ever shoot there, he knows it's empty other than that mine." Then he shot there.
@@dylanh8163 That's with consideration of legal placements and everything. Completely random guessing would give you a 1 in 6 quintillion chance or something.
I like this variation of Battleship. The classic version would've been boring for a streamer racket, everyone with a bit of basic research would know how to play the game like a pro. This version, however, has so much more to it that actually makes it interesting: Varied ship shapes, sonar, mines, abilities, varied map shapes, etc. It's so much more complex than the classic. Plays like the A1 mind play in game two is a product of what makes this version interesting. Though, my one complaint, especially with the varied map shapes, is the restriction of the overall map being a 10*10, I think a 15*15 would be much more fitting for the additional thing this variation provides; maybe the addition of one more medium ship to a 15*15 would be the balancing point, as well as being able to mirror ship placements. The competitive banter is just the cherry on top, always love the streamer competitions.
For the math nerds out there, suppose you know your opponent has only one 4x1 ship at the start (on a 10x10 board). Which strategies can you use to guarantee you'll hit the ship, and which strategy uses the smallest number of guesses?
I cannot believe Jerma was right and battleship is actually a game that i enjoy watching. The magician did the trick again...
The mine play in game 2 was actually genius
the steak sauce gambit
Lvl two thinking dipped in mama liz's A1 steak oil
The refusal to sink damaged ships meta really got countered HARD by the ship stacking in the final round.
It was a good strat for the first couple games, but Stanz found a great counter to it.
I can't believe that Battleship actually has a meta and counterplays. This is insane.
NL what about the 7 other hours of non-gameplay that was the best part where do I find that?
"You ever get the idea that someone up there doesn't like you?" I am dying
The fact Jerma started by saying we need to play more Battleship and then it started a movement that culminated in a Ludwig sponsored Battleship tournament only shows we’re on the correct timeline.
Man NL going Hmmmmm? after every inference Stanz makes is absolutely sending me
Instantly pogged, you know we're here on the rewatch for the algorithm
Top tier banter-lords match off.
Stanz was a great dance partner!
Never really heard of this guy but he was a lot of fun

@@combatcorncob6334 thanks for the info! I think I'll be checking him out
@@Northernlion are you sure? you were stepping all over each other’s toes
The corner plays in the second game were actually godtier
The A1 play is legendary
And to think it was a misclick
This can't be the end, we need more of your fivehead plays
NL colliding with Stanz/Jerma/Lud has been nothing short of excellent
Stanz spent the entire last match not understanding the mechanics. And NL spent the entire last match just refusing to win.
Stanz AND NL? What a day to be alive.
I swear, I started watching, heard Stanz's voice and didn't even think twice until suddenly I realized I'm watching the Egg and not Ludwig and co. how surreal
I honestly thought this was Jerma before I read the comments... is it just me or do they sound kinda similar?
I’ve never heard of this stans guy before, but I hope you do more stuff with him. The banter was top tier
Loved the banter in this one! honestly wouldn't mind future collabs with this man lmao.
Ryan and stans dynamic is pretty goated
I can, honestly, not believe how entertaining this was. These guys are just amazing together =)))))
Watching Ludwig make the fake ship out of mines for sonar to pick up was the most amazing thing I’ve seen on twitch in a while. The title of biggest brain on twitch stays in NLs hands
No one:
Stanz: that tells me everything
Every time Stanz takes a shot
"now that tells me eeeverything"
When NL placed a mine in the 0-radar zone, I thought, "are you kidding me? Why would he ever shoot there, he knows it's empty other than that mine."
Then he shot there.
Ryan's level of "Faking out the fake out of the fake out"... is Princess Bride level...
The mine corner is literally the funniest shit i've ever seen
Apparently its an almost 1/6,000,000 chance of a 1st turn win in battleship.
Unless you know the other person
Is this just simple number of possible hits vs misses, or does this factor in the knowledge gained from a hit piece?
@@dylanh8163 That's with consideration of legal placements and everything. Completely random guessing would give you a 1 in 6 quintillion chance or something.
@@Gorm169 Thanks! I love weird math considerations like this
Stanz: "I've found three ships!"
Also Stanz: Currently has three ships hit and two found with radars.
This is quality content, please do more with Stanz!

I would absolutely be on board with more Battleship. This was so good!
The second game was incredible content
Every time I’ve played Battleship I’ve been bored out of my mind, yet somehow watching other people play battleship has me pogged out of my gourd.
The sportsmanship of these people are wonderful 👏, good job
This was insanely entertaining. I would love to see you play more Battleship!
NL got me into chess and I tryharded way more than him over the past year. When NL said "E4 the queen's gambit" I spasmed
I heard the sweet sultry tones of Nathan “OneNightStanz” Staniel and was immediately and unapologetically pogged out of my gourd.
This was great content. The banter was nice
NL is a great Oops All Mines player
This video calmed me down from an anxiety attack thank you NL
Nice to be able to actually hear your guys' interactions with each other instead of Ludwig and Jerma's conversation about zerking all game
I love the banter here 😇
Unbelievable 27:08 the stars all accidentally aligned
This is the most entertaining thing I've seen in months.
NL you should play more games with Stanz. This was great content and I would be onboard with watching more
i Can't believe that Jerma called Battleship as the next big streamer thing.
This banter is absolutely cracked
Watching a game of Egg playing himself with every move
What an amazing exchange of blows between two titans of the sea?! Super fun to watch!
i really enjoyed this video!!! this was just fun to watch
I think on any map which is cut smaller than the default grid the mines become even more powerful
The description is gold
Jerma vs NL...
I never knew I wanted to see this happen, but I think we can agree now that *everyone wants to see this happen*
This unironically made me want to go play battleship
Love when you sink your teeth into games like this!
at 19:30 he makes a joke about how a mine completely missed his ships and wasnt at all right next to them, which told me where his last 2x1 was
I simply cannot discern between Ludwig and Stanz's vocice
Now all we need is Atrioc and Ludwig then we have the whole squad
This is really good. I would love to see more battleship
The NL/Stanz crossover I've been dying for
This game literally had me amped beyond belief.
I have ascended from the pog plane.
I am now the Pogged out of my Gourd GOD
Nl just a friendly tip always split a three do the middle one to leave two one length spaces you rule out three spaces in one hit instead of one
why would u put a mine on a 0 scanned area? noone will ever click in that area ever obv
THE A1 GAMBIT A1 MINE MISCLICK MASTERFUL PLAY
Stanz always sounds like he’s late for something. Like his speaking is so manic. It’s so funny combined with Ryan’s even drawl
The other person in the video is Stanz, not Ludwig.
@@exal1504 much appreciated!
41:01 why Egg!
27:29 is so amazing
The accidental A1 mine was hilarious
27:14 - The greatest mind games of all time 😂
great chemistry between these two
Surprisingly great content!
Watching NL avoid checking for the battle ship hurt so much. I got backseat gaming hives from it.
YOOO a collab with Stanz?? I'm drowning in the pog
I thought he was playing against Ludwig the whole time until I read the description. How the hell do two people manage to sound so alike?
I can't believe how hype these games are
NL missing the tetris piece in game one cooked me
"Hello Ludwig and Jerma" I'm sent man XD
Came here hoping for strong banter, was not disappointed
Surprisingly high pog content

ONE STEP CLOSER TO EGG/JERMA CONTACT
“End turn gambit” lmao
I got so confused when Ludwig started talking because I was under the impression that NL was fighting Ludwig the entire game.
1:04:25 did Stanz say "Mon frère" ?? x))
45:00 Stanz turns into ITYSL Credit card roulette sketch "i hate this game, i hate this game"
When a mine hits another mine which hits another mine which destroys a ship.
Did you guys do a day 2?
*Only one 1x2 remaining* "Maybe he put two 1x2s!
10:29 was that an edit in post?
Are you asking if NL edited,?
I don't think so, you can hear him click. It was probably just a text box in OBS that he made visible and then hidden again
"Hoisted by his own petard" - hoisted by Stanz's petard, actually hehe
even from second one the compatibility pog is off the scale. it was a pleasure watching two brainlords compete amongst the seas
I'm glad the players are commentating because the hosts were straight up ignoring these games
THE A1 MINE PLAY LET'S GO
That was fun to watch
Stanz got so lucky there at the end xD
Ryan started so well too, thought he'd win the third match.
ngl I watched the third game at 1.5x speed and it just made it so funny for some reason
This is actually the greatest timeline
NL has a poker face that can split atoms.
