@@discoveringmls vincent has a great point my timbers only averaged 23k for attendence but when the max capacity is about 25k that number looks a lot better
St. Louis City SC (if they played in 2022): Attendance - 22,500 (8th - 21 points) / We know this because they sold 60,000 season ticket deposits. Goals - 120.416 (2nd - 27 points) / If we go by St. Louis City SC 2 (51 GF, 34 GA, 85 total, 24 games total). Since MLS = 34 games in a season, we have to make an adjustment. 85 GF/GA over 24 games = 3.5416 average. 3.5416 x 34 = 120.4. Cost - $48 (1st - 28 points) / If we go by Seatgeek, the average price is $48. (That can't be right, but anyway). Wage Bill - Idk. Minimum = 76 points (+ Wage Bill points).
Great stats! I thought the SeatGeek prices were wrong as well - they didn’t seem to add up. Thanks for the info, I’ll run it again (improved) after this season 😁
With Austin we have a perfect attendance record in all comps. And the atmosphere is amazing even non Austin Players have said Q2 has the best atmosphere.
I think you need to account for transportation ease. I know when I go away I want no part of renting a car, I want to stay in the city center and i want to use subway system. For me, Portland is #1 (although I live here, but if I'm a visiting fan, Portland is perfect). Great airport, MAX drops you off anywhere downtown you want to be and a station is literally across the street from stadium. Sota is good too when using this criteria. SLC and Frisco are terrible. NE is terrible too (my gawd tho...a footy stadium in Boston on the T would be fantastic) I would like to hear from others how accessible Montreal, Cbus, Cincy and NSH are now.
NYCFC supporter Been to Nashville (going again for the start of the season), Red Bull (obviously), New England, Montreal, LA Galaxy, LAFC (was not a NYCFC game), Miami, D.C., Portland. Doing Chicago also for the 2nd game of the season (never been there yet), obviously supporting my team comes first but interesting list. Also, have a new subscriber in me.
@@discoveringmls I'd probably have to say Miami. As much as we do not get along with them, their supporters are on another level and when they begin jumping, people around the stadium may not jump but they'll stomp their feet with them to just have the whole stadium going.
I would give extra points to teams that made the playoffs the past 3 seasons(10, 20, 30 points). Teams that are consistently competitive are probably better to watch because they play more meaningful games.
I do have to defend RSL a bit. Their attendance have been phenomenal. Last season they hit a club record 8 consecutive sold out home matches. And their average attendance went up to 20,300 in 2022. Up from 18,121 in 2019. I will add their stadium has a capacity of 20,000. Even though Salt Lake City isn't Seattle, Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte or Portland we have solid fans out here too.
@@discoveringmls I did a little bit more digging and the streak has gone up to 13 consecutive home match sellouts. So the average has probably grown too.
Ok didn't expect my DC United to be top three.Holefully Wayne Rooney can get the team back into contention and have respectability returned to what was once an distinguished organization of MLS.
I certainly hope Klich and the rest of the new additions have a major impact. We finished dead last in standings last season. Which is totally embarrassing in a league full of parity, to be owners of the Wooden Spoon.
For atmosphere: Seattle, Portland, LAFC, Austin, Cincinnati, Nashville, Atlanta
I needed a better measure for that - maybe a survey would work 👍
As an Austin FC fan and from players Q2 is the best atmosphere
personally i think you should do percentage of stadium filled. 20k in an 80k stadium is worse than 15k in a 15k stadium.
Man, that’s is a great idea - adding that in for the next one 👍
@@discoveringmls vincent has a great point my timbers only averaged 23k for attendence but when the max capacity is about 25k that number looks a lot better
Yeah I’ll change this when I update it
The nearest for me is Atlanta United, but it's still five hours away if traffic is good.
Wow, that’s a long old way! Atlanta is another great club!

It comes up very strong - have you seen my 2024 update?

That’s a tough one, yeah. The access for fans should be considered - in the UK they out on buses or coaches to the ground. Agree on Boston too!
Really enjoy these videos hope you keep them up!!
Thank you bud! I will do!

Good idea! Will add that for next time 👍

Very good effort! 👍
@@discoveringmls Highest attendance for a home match in 2022 was 21,810. LAFC defeated us 4-1 with Gareth Bale getting a goal in that match.
Top work man!
Also attendances in MLS is counted by tickets sold, not how many people are in the stadium so those numbers are never accurate.
Yeah, good point. Same in the UK too
Let’s go Charlotte FC!
Ok didn't expect my DC United to be top three.Holefully Wayne Rooney can get the team back into contention and have respectability returned to what was once an distinguished organization of MLS.
Yeah, they scored very well! Klich will be amazing for you guys - total cult hero
I certainly hope Klich and the rest of the new additions have a major impact. We finished dead last in standings last season. Which is totally embarrassing in a league full of parity, to be owners of the Wooden Spoon.
Lots of clubs have been there, you guys will bounce back. There’s quality in that side I think
Cinncianti number 2?! That’s wild
Yeah, that surprised me too! They’re doing a lot of things right!
Nashville SC hands down 💪
Totally up there!
Atlanta is the only MLS club with a world cup champion in it
Quality player he is too
Where was Austin fc?
8th - pretty darn good!
How did Charlotte FC do?
Charlotte smashed the attendance, coming in 2nd, but low on goals and ticket prices - came in 23rd
@@discoveringmls niceeee
2023 will only be our second year so we got time to get bigger
Oh yes, definitely - it’s a journey and you’re right at the start. Exciting times
nah bro where u buying ur tickets from ??? Avg MLS ticket is like 30 bucks ??? LMFAO
I guess that’s not for a Messi game! I used official stats for ticket prices from the big US sellers
Preemptively commenting, if you don't say Charlotte I'm unsubscribing
/s.
Yeesh!.... bad metrics.
