  • Looking at the catalogs to see if I can find the 7A28-7040, as well as any other neat things that cross our path.
PSA: This video contains sub-optimal levels of editing, enough to get it done. We have zero script beyond the questions people have sent in. Same for the sound - I forget my microphone pretty regularly, so if you can hear anything count that as a win. Even if that "anything" is tuneless humming. I did pump up the volume though. YMMV if you choose to spend part of your life on this. No Refunds. Enjoy!

Hi, the 7a28 came to market in 1982 and the rest of the 7axx's in 1983/4, the earliest 7a28 I have is Oct 1982.
The Vulcan is a 7a38 model, the yellow "Buttercup" 7a28 you showed is probably my favourite in my collection of 7axx's.
The most wearable 7a has to be the 7a38-6000, look it up it's a stunner!

It’s crazy comparing the 1972 Seiko catalog to the 1982, and how watches went from uniquely shaped, and colorful to the more basically designed silver or gold jewelry store watches of the early 80’s. I’d love to know what lead to that shift in design.
