- Did Victor Rookwood die during the Wand Mastery battle? I explore the question in this way-too-long video.

(This comment doesn't have any flow to it; it just has several points that I think could be used as a way to say he's alive.)
TBH, I feel like the two most likely options are
Option 1: bad planning on the devs part
Option 2(the one we're talking about): Rookwood is alive and will be the main antagonist in the second game.
•On Reddit (the most reliable source /sarcasm) I heard some whispers about a second game, and I feel like the better (and easier) option would be to have an enemy we already know (Rookwood), so keeping him alive would be something that the devs would probably want to do.
(FYI: I got this vampire info from the fanon wiki (the other one doesn't talk about this), so take it with a grain of salt.)
•You mentioned something in the video that reminded me of something I read about. In HP, vampires exist (I'm not saying Rookwood is a vampire), but they can't turn into bats. The rumor about them turning into bats started with vampires escaping hunters by deploying a smoke bomb and apparating away, leaving a live bat. As you can see in the video, it's not exactly like that, but I feel like Rookwood probably did something similar to this to get away and keep Mc from trying to hunt him down.
•You also bring up the good point that none of the enemies talk about Rookwood being dead; now it could be all the enemies refusing to admit that the great and powerful Rookwood was defeated by the 15yo. But it could be that Rookwood is alive and well, so let's pretend it's the latter option.
•Rookwood is a rich man and a man who probably has a lot of enemies, so him having a secret place to hide just makes sense. I think he probably has some cabin away from Scotland that he's currently recouping in (after having his a*s handed to him by a 15yo)
•Also, I feel like Anne's curse probably shouldn't be used as a way to say he's alive because several curses persist after the caster's death (the Maledictus blood curse being one of them), and we don't have any info about Anne or her cures after sebs quest is over, so I don't think she should play a role in the discussion (at least not a substantial role).
All in all, him being alive has its merits. And I feel like it's definitely a likely possibility.
I'm sorry if this makes no sense; I don't make theories. And I don't know how they should be formatted.

@@beany1229 It mostly makes sense. But yeah in addition to the Rookwood Gang not having anything to say about his "death" -- not to mention HARLOW when you fight him??? I went through a huge amount of NPC lines.. No one, and, I repeat, NO ONE - including people who thank you for getting Harlow sent to Azkaban, mentions what happened with DR. Not one single person, one single time.
