When the pastor of the church “ I was attending “pointed his finger at me from the pulpit and said with bitterness, heartlessness and commendation “ YOU sent Jesus to the cross,” I couldn’t go back. The cruel condemnation of those words. The utterly unbearable weight of guilt. It’s been two weeks now since I left that church and am now just beginning to come out from under that cruel statement through much prayer and seeking the true meaning of the Cross. God sent Jesus to the cross. I did not sin against Jesus, I sinned against the holy, almighty, pure, sovereign and righteous creator, God. It is by His grace, His mercy, His love, for His glory, for His plan of redemption that Jesus died. It was God’s will. The atoning sacrifice of Jesus satisfying God by taking my sin upon himself, offered me the gift of salvation and it is the righteousness of Jesus that I now can call God my father. I’m now starting to be able to breathe in the love of God.

You know what's sad.. I don't think churches make it clear enough ! They do not make it clear that we are truly truly saved by faith through grace !!! They tell you everything and they will say the gospel when you get saved but then all you hear is condemnation!!!! I was never free until I realized Jesus really does love me and it's not just words that people say.. I was free when i saw in the bible its faith through grace..

When the pastor of the church “ I was attending “pointed his finger at me from the pulpit and said with bitterness, heartlessness and commendation “ YOU sent Jesus to the cross,” I couldn’t go back. The cruel condemnation of those words. The utterly unbearable weight of guilt. It’s been two weeks now since I left that church and am now just beginning to come out from under that cruel statement through much prayer and seeking the true meaning of the Cross. God sent Jesus to the cross. I did not sin against Jesus, I sinned against the holy, almighty, pure, sovereign and righteous creator, God. It is by His grace, His mercy, His love, for His glory, for His plan of redemption that Jesus died. It was God’s will. The atoning sacrifice of Jesus satisfying God by taking my sin upon himself, offered me the gift of salvation and it is the righteousness of Jesus that I now can call God my father. I’m now starting to be able to breathe in the love of God.
My interpretation of faith according to the original Hebrew is... "the just.... shall make a living... by God's truth" - I've come to learn it's not just about survival/itself, but instead includes the aspects of our lifestyle and loyalty toward God...effectively the way we live... though not to be self-righteous.
