I have recently moved to the UK and you guys really gave useful tips&tricks combining it with nice british english what I'm tryna learn as well. Thanks!
Things not to do when you are in the british museum... 1 first surivival one: dont say 99% of the things are from other cultures if you appreciate your life 🤕🤕
Most people do not actually realise point 5 - every pub will pour you a sip if you want to try something before ordering it. Really popular in pubs that serve lots of import draughts and house ales, because there's tons of options and half of them you might not like.
Or Czechs. We statistically drink the most beer in the world (look it up). Much more than you Brits. Not even the Germans and Austrians are close; they drink like 50 percent less than us. Even the kids are allowed to drink - but only the head of the beer. We start early. But you rarely see people really drunk in pubs. That would be seen as very inaproppriate, and that you can´t hold your liquor. But I think us Czechs and the Irish would easily outdrink the British. You can find a Czech for trying this out, and it will be a CZECH MATE, haha, pun intended.
I tell you what, I stay with friends in Denmark - the Danes put the Brits to shame (I’m a Brit) in terms of drinking, they love it, especially beer! Beer with every meal, its out of the norm if you don’t have one. Plus Copenhagen is a really cool city, the underground is awesome the front of the trains are glass so you can see the tunnels - but that probably says more about me …
@@Calucifer13i was thinking about czech people with this video too, i know they have a bar culture there too where most businessmen go there after work or have alcoholism problems, crazy that they drink the most though
This was very good & so funny! Questions I have: 1. Can one walk about outside with alcohol? 2. If you can not tolerate alcohol but wish to be at a pub is there a less awkward "drink" to fit in besides water? 3. What is "lairy" at the tv 😆
Thanks so much, we’re glad you enjoyed it! If the pub has a garden out back or a terrace area in front, or any privately owned outdoor area, then yes. But drinking on the street is actually prohibited in GB
I googled lairy:" this adjective is used to describe people, usually men, behaving in a loud, excited and slightly aggressive way. "- just think about football fans, how they behave during a game. I don't drink alcohol either, but I am pretty sure you could order coffee or tea in a pub too. Or some juice. My husband likes Kinley, that is a nonalcoholic somewhat bitter tasting drink. Or you could order cola or some other bubbly drink.
@@june.w.1288 Why thank you for both solving the mystery word & advice on a good drink! I would love to go to an English pub one day, even if lairy people are there 😅
@@EasyEnglishVideos Only prohibited if it is a Controlled Drinking Zone, most usually town and city centres. Though you can be arrested for being drunk and disorderly anywhere.
I dunno - try going down my local Spoons which granted is a sh*thole, but pretty much anything goes. I’ve seen an old dude walking around minus trousers, another bloke who regularly gets ejected for minesweeping, numerous fights often between blokes and women of all ages, the disabled toilet now has a code on it to stop people shagging in it, another guy who regularly can be found passed out on the pavement outside early afternoon. It all goes on I can tell you.
I am from Kentucky USA. I went to visit another Kentuckian who was teaching there so I visited for a month. Found the best local places and made some friends. I was able however to keep up easily as far as drinking went. The Scots were a little harder with the single malts ( which are amazingly delicious) fortunately I am a hillbilly from the bourbon capital of the world and am of Scottish descent. So we had that in common. Great Britain pubs are the coolest gatherings on the planet. Germany next.
Hi Mitch, good video!!! I discover JDwetherspoon franchaise pubs and they have a good prices!! Every time I go to UK, I try to go to one of them, it is true the food is not specially good but the price and service is OK. We have something similar in Spain, but it is quite different. JD pubs are good to take a drink and I know there are many in Brighton.... I hope I went to UK soon and enjoy a JD bar again!!! Big hugs front Spain!!!
Thanks 🙌 I have an affinity with ‘Spoons, as it’s the place where myself and my oldest friends would meet after a busy week to share stories, jokes and banter. Many great nights and adventures would come after a big session at Wetherspoon’s. Greetings from Brighton 🏖
@@EasyEnglishVideos thank you Mitch for your comments!! I think it looks like a typical place where local people meet, I used to meet with my university colleagues after class and I always have good memories of this time!! 👍👍👏👏😜
I'm not used to drink (actually I don't even drink beer because I don't like it😳😳😂😂) but I find interesting it's a place to go to meet also your family😍 not only friends or to see a match all together, on tv. Here in Italy is more usual to go in a bar, to see a soccer match, Cvd restriction apart, I'd prefer to participate in a karaoke or quiz night😍 and drink maybe a juice... Would it be possible? Other questions: are there typical differences between an Irish and an England Pub? How are considerated people who works in a pub? I mean, is it a good work or, about for example shifts, is it hard? Thanks a lot Mitch and Isy, love your work!!
Aww thanks for your lovely words! You can drink almost anything in a pub… you don’t even have to drink if you don’t feel like it, as long as you support the pub in some way. Some pubs will probably do mocktails and alcohol free drinks. You’ll find that most bartenders who work in pubs are doing it to fund their other projects. Especially in London, bartenders are usually working musicians, actors or creative types. Lastly, the main difference between an Irish pub and an English pub is there is usually some form of live music in an Irish pub. Whereas most English pubs either have no music or music from an iPhone.
Although I neither drink nor go to pubs this video was fun to watch 😀 and I liked Izi's participation 👍 This series about British culture is pretty good and I would love to see more of it.
Your videos are getting better each time! I loved how you used that warm filter to make the scenes more realistic. Such fun to watch. And I'll definitely follow your tipp to try out a small glass of drink first the next time I'm in Britain. Not so much a beer fan, but I love cider!
Awww it’s these types of compliments that really make it all worth adding the extra 10% more into our videos 😁 let us know how your next pub experience goes. And, if you used any of the “guide” 🤣
I feel like if you brew your own beer in America like I do 90% of these are covered lol. We've seen it all here between USA and Canada, seems pretty straight forward. HOWEVER, I did not know how crazy sports pubs get.
What a fun video to watch. We've just returned from Cork, Ireland where they have over 1,000 pubs. Perhaps high heating bills will create a revival of the British pub, I hope so.
Another suggestion is to bright ID card along with you. As I am an Asian, who may be look a bit younger than my ages, I was asked to show my ID. Otherwise you will be able to order non-alcoholic drinks only. Cheers!!!
I’ve never been to a British pub but numbers one through nine. We’re just obvious pieces of advice anytime you go out. Number 10 I don’t necessarily agree with. That depends on how much you drink, and number 11 I fully disagree with. If I’m going to go to an English pub to experience the atmosphere of an English pub, I don’t need karaoke or trivia night. I can get that at home.
Black Horse beer! 😲😲 Where did you find that green-screen background for #9? I've travelled the world, and have only found Black Horse on a remote island off the east coast of Canada along with a few obscure locations within a few hundred kilometres of said island. Interesting to see it displayed in this video...
Go to an English pub alone and order 12 Guinnes! when the waiter asks how much? Say 2 guinnes for me and 10 guinnes for my friend. And if the waiter asks you where your friend is, tell him he'll be there later when I've finished the 12 Guinnes. He then takes me home.
I've never worked in a bar, but to my personal knowledge, I think you can try anything that's already open (a wine, spirit etc...) as well as beers on tap. Thanks! I actually used to work in theatre, but on the other side of the stage 🙈
The ones you should never try and outdrink are really the Russians except that we are more inclined towards vodka because we have not only drinking in our DNA but rather outdrinking.
Good vid, but I gotta stop you at the last one, drinking is also an everyday affair in my own life, whether relaxing, working out, during a morning shower or an evening bowel movement. I would welcome the British charm and several rounds with folks who share this passion should I ever visit Britain!
Tourists do dumb things... but i have to say most of these are things that patrons don't do in American bars either. The people who do this are midwestern wasps who dont drink at home either.
This video is ridiculous. Do not drink directly from a bottle, beer is drunk from a glass. And do not use bad language, this is a family environment, not a football terrace.

Dont know about the most expensive country to go drink bit bud.. outside of london, prices are pretty much on par with the rest of western europe.
That klezmer-ish tune you used as soundtrack for the clips somehow makes it even funnier! 😁
Cheers, Mitch, old mate!
I’m a huge “curb your enthusiasm” fan, so this music made me live my dream of being something like a Larry David type character

You had me ROFL with "Do not try to outdrink the British." Hilarious. How would the Irish compare to you guys though?????
It would be a close but disastrous battle for both nations 😀

You should start drinking. Allah would want you to.
Talking about politics or religion in a British pub is by far the worst thing anyone can do.
Unless you're an American, then you'll just get an "It's OK, he's an American." "Oh, that makes sense."
