    Despite not owning a dog you still can (should) show mercy upon the dog. We should always show mercy on Allah's creation. Remember in this video YQ only talking about owning dog.

    May Allah reward you and bless you always. I have received so much hatred by my muslim brothers and sisters who told me that I was going to Hell and was not a muslim for having a service dog but I love Allah and love our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) that I practice Islam in private and stop wearing hijab to avoid muslims from being mean to me. I am deaf and have epilepsy. When my neurologist did an EEG on my brain, durning that 20 minutes of EEG test, my dog licked my hand 3 times. The neurologist who was preforming the test and seeing my brain activity noticed that my dog licked my hand exactly when I was having those 3 seizures. The neurologist told me that I must listen to my dog when he licks my hand as he can sense my brain activity so I sit on the floor to avoid falling and getting injured. I have scientific evidence of this - it is not an opinion. Besides, being deaf helps me navigate the world, crossing streets and protects me and alerts me when someone is coming to my home. I rely on my dog so much that I cannot live without him but the hatred I have received from muslims, even from my own mother, is cruel. I live a very isolated life, away from family and the mosque, and sadly I don't have any muslim friends. Please keep up the good work and please talk about being kind to animals and to people with disabilities who rely on dogs for survival. May Allah bless you and protect you, thank you from my heart.

    In consideration of the real danger of contracting rabies in ancient times this guidance is understandable. It’s a scientific fact rabies is transferred by saliva. Today we have the vaccine. I have a little dog, she is not for hunting nor guarding, but solely my companion. I cannot accept that she is considered haram, she gives me such joy - but if I’d lived thousands of years ago I’d consider it valid advice.

    • @saracentiano
      @saracentiano 4 года назад +7

      Okay, the Maliki school does allow some concessions for that. They are not as strict with dogs as are the other three schoolds. Point is however some rules need not be justified always by wisdom. Culture keeps changing. Times keep changing. God forbid if we have an apocalypse like situation or a world war three where you no longer have the rabies vaccine, will you still consider keeping one as a pet? Well ofcourse you would. I mean I find them cute and adorable myself. But I do not have a legitimate reason to keep one so I keep away, solely because the majority of scholars mention that without need keeping a dog is unjustified. But if people are lonely or depressed or have a medical reason, these may be legitimate reasons enough. Funny thing about Islam is, most of the times the justification of the legitimate reason in areas like this is between you and God. No one else can come between you two.

    The dog should have a purpose or else you are not allowing it to follow its own fitrah. We have had several dogs in my family and they are so sweet and loving creatures. Dogs in the west are being treated like children and showered with love and resources. Just look at dogs of celebrities with expensive collars for maybe thousands of dollars and homeless people everywhere.

    • @RandPersonn
      @RandPersonn 2 года назад

      Dogs can serve a variety of purposes for humans such as for blind people, police etc(dogs are also quite intelligent friendly animals) though what makes you think that it is not okay for humans to keep dog as pets just like we do many other animals such as cats hamster etc? Or why do you think dog's "fitrah"(natural dispositosition) lacks keeping them in our house, having them as pets? Having dog as pet is not confined to the West of course many people from many different nonwestern cultures countries like India, China, Thailand etc do also keep dog as pets. And I am pretty sure almost any dog-cat or pet owner would value any human life to that of animals their pets and oppose extreme money spent on dogs while there are many hungry people outside. Though that seems to create a strawman and false dichotomy. Like you can also say this to a person who has cat as pet etc(there are also many people who spend too much on cats while many people are hungry) but having cat is not prohibited. Or owning dog as pet and helping hungry people etc is not mutually exclusive, one can do the two at the same time just like one can own cat, spend some money on them while helping others. Honestly, as an exchristian exmuslim agnostic prohibition against having dog pets was one of the most inane illogical rules. Just wondering how more muslims who are rather knowledgeable and at least trying to rationalize religion like Yassir Qadhi deals with this and it is the same old arguments statements I have all heard from other Muslims. Trying to justify those rules is extremely like rather than collecting the data and arriving at rules, conclusion; havinga set of rules delivered to you by so called god and embarking on tireless attempts to find/create irrelevant reasons for those rules. The main issue id that mamy of those reasons would also apply to other things like I can also list/find a plethora of reasons why one shouldnt have cats as pets if I made the same attempts as Tem.

    i hav so many questions, im a muslim, we work with animal rescues and welfare. Dogs are the most hated, the most suffering living being in our country. they are shot they r poisoned. a healthy dog is killed bruetly. if we were not allowed to keep dogs at home then why are we killing dogs who are outside our homes? ? ? ? ? we dont want them home.wedont want them in streets. where shud they go? on moon?. been a rescuers, i believe that to save them they shud be kept inside, to help them from been bruetly killed. if it was turkey where stray dogs live happily. i dont mind my strays on streets. but where i live. its not. also. we get cases like dog with three legs or paralyzed. our animal welfare give them home becus they cannot survive on their own or find food,they will die slowly with hunger. does Islam teaches us to let them die with immence suffering? arent we taught to protect alll wat Allah created.

Yes there are opinions that differ and that is why we grade them. And that is why Quran takes precedence. The Quran mentions Dogs in good reference, in Surah Kahf a dog is a good guardian.
    and what they hunt with their mouths is Halal for us to eat. So even the known norm that their saliva is impure doesn't make any sense when Allah made Halal HUNTED ANIMALS From their MOUTHS without Thabiha.
    I dont know, I think we need to relook into ahadiths like this that dont match with the Quran 100%. And this is just one of the many reasons why we need to bring life back to Islamic sciences and scholarship, and scrutinize and make contemporary what is open to be contemporary. instead of just piling it all in books and letting them collect dust in shelfs saying "thats it, we know everything and no research or discovery needs to be made".
    No wonder Islamic Scholarship is in such a Pathetic state today.

      Not a sheikh but mawlid isn’t an Aqidah issue so mentioning Asharis make no sense. In regards to mawlid it is differed upon. One side views it as permissible as long as there are no sinful behaviours whilst another side views it as an innovation. Both positions are valid to follow and am genuinely annoyed that such a minor Fiqhi disagreement has become a big issue amongst Muslims online.

      @Hamza there's no single scholar who said the saliva of a dog is not najis. Yes, you can use the dog to hunt, guard and security. But if your dog hunt an animal and already started eating it then you can't eat it. Understand the teaching of the Glorious Quran, Hadith and Sunnah first before attacking your Bro here. And whether it's a hunting dog or the reason that goes with the teachings in Islam. You can't live with a dog in the same house.

      @Hamza no you have to do your research correctly. Will you follow what Malick School of taught says or what the Prophet SAW said? Imam Malick just took his evidence from the quran which says you can eat what they catch (no one in this World understands and knows everything in the Glorious Quran) I don't know if you know that. But even in that case when the Dog start eating the animal, in this you can't eat it. Learn properly before calling me names. And it is clear that you can't keep a dog in your house whether they are in the category of hunting, guard and security. And it's not only because of diseases but the Creator knows everything and that's take the precautions first and that's why it is clear to keep the dog safe outside and most of the people keep dogs for other purposes and not base on Islam. It is definitely a learning curve, I would not expect a new convert to immediately begin praying 5 times a day from day 1 since they would not know how to at the beginning.
      As for the dog, they can keep the dog as long as it stays out of the house or at least outside of the prayer room. They would need to take a bath every time the dog licks them in order to pray which would make it impractical to keep the dog in the house as a pet.

If you had to breed healthy dog because of its agriculture & security purpose then you ensure the fitness of their species.
