We are in a yayla located at the foothills of the Kaçkar Mountains, approximately 2100 meters above sea level, in the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize province of Turkey. Avusor Yaylası is known for its cool weather, natural beauty and traces of traditional Laz culture.
Transportation is provided via difficult and steep roads, like most yaylas. The roads can get muddy, especially in rainy weather, and make transportation difficult, which makes the region attractive for travelers interested in difficult living conditions and mountaineering, as well as the natural beauty of the region. The natural life on this yayla is also quite rich.
Avusor is interesting not only for its nature and scenery, but also for those who want to experience Laz culture and yayla life. Local people organize traditional events on these yaylas and take care to preserve their own cultural values.
