    Will Quebec City get an expansion team right out of the gate? Probably not. Would they be an ideal relocation candidate of Atlanta 3.0 ever happened? Yes. It worked twice before

      Gary Bettman is not the boss ... he has 32 owner groups that are his boss and pay his salary. He represents them and gets paid to take the claim for his 32 bosses decisions. He has 7 Canadian base bosses. Those 7 bosses would make sure he is fired if he hates Canada. Plus 42% of NHL players are Canadian.

      @@EdV-et6qm 7 out of 32 means you can't influence a thing. Canada is to the NHL what Québec is to the rest of Canada. A negligeable and annoying inconvienence in the big scheme of things. Plus, I heard somewhere Canadians were racists. Is that true?

    Houston did not have an arena/owner in 2011. At that point the Rockets were owned by Les Alexander. He had the right to block any team sharing the arena, and no interest in hockey. He pushed the AHL Aeros out of town.
    If Firtitta had been in place in '11 then there's a good chance that the Thrashers move to Houston instead of Winnipeg.

    Keep in mind Molson probably will fight against a team in Quebec. They have the whole province rooting for the Habs and the Nordiques coming back would cut their fan base in half

    • @jasonsabourin2275
      @jasonsabourin2275 3 года назад

      The Nordique never had, and WOULD NEVER have an effect on Montreal, if anything it would have more of an effect on the Nordiques, all games at Le Colisee were always at least one quarter filled with Montreal fans, if not half full, the rivalry would actually bring more fans in to the overall hockey picture in the province, all of the laissez-faire, and straggler, follower types will now be scooped up, and accounted for, also Montreal will be given A Multi-million dollar "Payoff" from the Nordique by order of the NHL, for Montreal's supposed losses, or whatever you want to call it, basically, it's a payoff/gift to keep Montreal Happy.

    There's always been 2 Quebec teams in the NHL, The Wanderers, the Maroons, the Bulldogs, the Nordiques. They should come back.

    I really don't see a reason why the political climate pushed Nordiques to relocate. Pro sports is a business, not politics. The political climate in the U.S. has been much more chaotic in the last 5 yrs, and I don't see any U.S. franchises relocate despite several U.S. based franchises that are in much poorer shape than the Nordiques ever were.

    Quebec City should be back in the NHL again but as a regional team with games in Halifax but all important games in QC like the playoffs.

      Are the Panthers really planning to leave Sunrise? As far as I know, the Panthers will be getting a new training facility in Fort Lauderdale, not a new home arena. If the Panthers are really leaving Sunrise, that would leave a 3rd obsolete arena in 50 yrs, after the Sportatorium, and Miami Arena.
