+majed wabbi I've been playing casually for about 15 years but only rhythm guitar, only recently been trying my hand at solos. I can play the nothing else matters solo perfectly, but that's much simpler than this one.
i can play fade to black solo but not this one well if i put my effort in it i will at the end

This brings back so many memories. 20 years ago, when I was 15, I was known as the guy who could play the (last) solo to One, and whenever I was at a party where the host had an electric guitar I was asked to play that solo.

Out of all the covers I’ve heard, you’re the ONLY one who was able to mimic that part well.
This solo is so perfectly executed that even comparing side by side with the original it's hard to hear differences, even the vibratos are spot on. Amazing job man!
I think his vibratos are better than Kirk's....

tap solo is a breeze, what follows is a pretty decent challenge though. Right after the 2 bends on the 22nd fret of the high E string is where it steps up a couple nothces. I learned the complete tap section in about 45 minutes.

WTF how do you play withot picking the strings? for me it makes no sound at all 1:14
You have to have heavy gain/distortion and the volume pretty loud or else tapping isnt going to make much sound, if you dont want to freak out your neighbors you could connect your amp/pedals to your computer then put your headphones in so only you can hear it
You have to pull it down. Try watching some tapping videos, it helps :)
Hey Vsauce Robbery Here You have to learn how to tap, which isn't hard. Also, to make the sound significant, you need heavy gain and/or distortion, like if you play it on an acoustic you can barely hear it but its good practice to learn on an acoustic
This technique is called tapping, no need for super volume or anything like that, only a good distortion pedal and you can clearly hear it :) it's quite fun
You really just need light gauge strings and low action then you should be able to

hardest part is 17 - 15 - 17 - 19 ^ 15 - 17 - 15 and getting my brain to make my fingers do that over and over. Rest is a cake walk.

So I’ve watched you play the part at 1:30 probably 40 times now. I’ve dedicated myself to playing this section correctly because I’ve always just substituted a little economy picking. I always though it was a pull of from 15 on the e to 19 on the b (not 17, which would basically add another note) so now I’m just confused.
