I completely agree with you BB! This was perfect, and we got more then we could have hoped for. This felt good for them, as Björn said, this is from the people of Sweden. (Who nominated them for this.) And how could it have come at any other time? It has not been given out since 1974, this was the first time - and they got it! Björn and Benny have already been awarded by the King (medals) - when should this have happened, if not NOW?! Perfect finish to a beautiful saga, to good to be triue, but still is. I wish my dear countrymen all the best and to enjoy the rest of a long and blessed life! I am so thankful and proud. They are such a gift! ❤

I think you are right about this being the right time for ABBA to be given this award 50 years after really means a lot more than it would of 30 years after. True recognition of a group who has given so much to the world of music and beyond.

Although we, the fans, could not be with them inside the palace, just witnessing the ceremony outside the palace by watching the livestream together was incredibly emotional and such a nice experience. We‘ve made new friends among each other and shared wonderful stories. I‘m so very proud of Agnetha, Benny, Björn and Frida. It not only warmth my heart, it is deeply moving to see them together, for what I take it, probably the last time together (at least in public). This is very hard to grasp; we haves witnessed history. My heart goes out to Frida for sitting in the front seat, so we could see her. To Agnetha for winding down the window after the ceremony (so nice to see her happy and relaxed that day), to Benny and Björn for trying to get the windows down. To all 4 for having shared their individual talents with this world and with that, leaving their footprints in music history forever. Bravo!

It might sound a bit weird, I know, but I couldn't think of my life without their music: as a child, too shy and solitary, their songs were the fuel that I needed to keep on going, as an adult , their voices never stop to resonate in my soul ,like those of some good and loyal friends, they are blessed people, that's why they deserve everything they got and more. I thought I recognized one of her late husband's daughters walking in with her, which, if it really was one of his daughters, makes it extra nice that she's kept that connection to the point that she's included in such a big event of Frida's life. Frida strikes me as very kind and finds joy around her.

I will never forget the first time I turned on the radio and heard the powerful opening of "Waterloo". WOW!!! What a sound!!! And it was just the beginning and the music just kept coming!!!! Never disappointed!!!!

It truly does feel like a fitting ending, the only other scenario I could see all four back together again in public for is the closing of abba voyage in London in 2026. This is assuming they are all in good health, but if that isn’t the case, how can any of us complain? We as fans have been given a gift that most fans never get from artists. If you had told me when I first discovered abba that by 2022 they would release a new album and have a new concert experience I never would have believed you. So if this is the end, all I can say is thank you for the music!

I think Frida's had a few nips and tucks, actually. And Bjorn, of course, has used vats of hair and beard dye in the last couple of decades......but essentially, yes, they're unchanged. Agnetha's lack of vanity should be acknowledged, really: one of the pop world's great beauties has aged naturally.
@@grantc61 Frida, i estimate, did some job back in the '00s but that's great because she's a woman who liked to take care of her self to look more fresh but it all was in a 'natural" degree without ridiculous hyperboles.I approve of this.Now she is more 'laidback" and enjoys her life , the love she gets from us fans and the Abba legacy they've offered to the music scene.
frida hat some plastic surgery done a couple of years ago. she said so in an interview. l didnt like the white clothes. they didnt look to good on them especially on agnetha who put on some weight, so black would have been better and more festive.

How emotional!! Realising suddenly this is probably the last, their "Ode to Freedom". Many more fans must realise that, ABBA must, I think, realise that as well. They deserve stepping back. Let's just look back on all we got from them. And enjoy that. ABBA was with me all my life (their concert in Rotterdam 1979, Voyage concert this year, and following them since their first songs/albums). It was absolutely more than amazing. THANK YOU ABBA!!!!! BB you are the best! Forget about the forums. I hope you realise that. In those forums (I'm not going to mention the name of the forum) you will find many grumpy fans who would like to decide "how they think ABBA should do it". If you disagree, you will be kicked out of the forum. In my opinion, this is without any respect towards any single individual, but also not towards any of the members of ABBA.

All 4 members showing once again their real admiration of each other! These people are icons, Others who have big egos & think they are 'someone ' because they are so called stars should take note! This is called CLASS 😊🎉
Although we, the fans, could not be with them inside the palace, just witnessing the ceremony outside the palace by watching the livestream together was incredibly emotional and such a nice experience. We‘ve made new friends among each other and shared wonderful stories. I‘m so very proud of Agnetha, Benny, Björn and Frida. It not only warmth my heart, it is deeply moving to see them together, for what I take it, probably the last time together (at least in public). This is very hard to grasp; we haves witnessed history.
My heart goes out to Frida for sitting in the front seat, so we could see her. To Agnetha for winding down the window after the ceremony (so nice to see her happy and relaxed that day), to Benny and Björn for trying to get the windows down. To all 4 for having shared their individual talents with this world and with that, leaving their footprints in music history forever.

It might sound a bit weird, I know, but I couldn't think of my life without their music: as a child, too shy and solitary, their songs were the fuel that I needed to keep on going, as an adult , their voices never stop to resonate in my soul ,like those of some good and loyal friends, they are blessed people, that's why they deserve everything they got and more. @@amespo13Yes, definitely. I do think Agnetha's family either lives with her or very close to her...so maybe she just wanted a night out on her own! Or she considered it more of a "business" affair.
I thought I recognized one of her late husband's daughters walking in with her, which, if it really was one of his daughters, makes it extra nice that she's kept that connection to the point that she's included in such a big event of Frida's life. Frida strikes me as very kind and finds joy around her.

I will never forget the first time I turned on the radio and heard the powerful opening of "Waterloo". WOW!!! What a sound!!! And it was just the beginning and the music just kept coming!!!! Never disappointed!!!!

Growing old together for sure... I was age 15 when I first heard ABBA on the radio, now 65. Time goes by so quickly. I'm sure the ABBA members are thinking the same. 50 years, it's hard to believe, but perfect timing for these awards.

It truly does feel like a fitting ending, the only other scenario I could see all four back together again in public for is the closing of abba voyage in London in 2026. This is assuming they are all in good health, but if that isn’t the case, how can any of us complain? We as fans have been given a gift that most fans never get from artists. If you had told me when I first discovered abba that by 2022 they would release a new album and have a new concert experience I never would have believed you. So if this is the end, all I can say is thank you for the music!

6:41!YESss!Frida doesn't bite her words!In the past Frida had refered again to such critical voices on ABBA and all those sour grapes.I totally understand her hinted bitterness i know how she feels about it.Swedish/UK/US music press were extremely humiliating to Abba at times back then.You can't imagine the degree of toxicity Abba and us older fans had suffered from such manipulative people who had grounded a hostile status quo towards the band Benny also expressed rather kindly his little complain back in the Voyage premier when a journalist of UK music paper NME aproached them.'Oh u hated us" he kinda kindly murmered,lol.Now they/we all are having the last laugh.
They are more important than any politicians out there because they spread love and peace and unity with their music. Not war and hate and division. A very deserving award unlike the false accolades dished out to those who don't bring any peace to this world. Well done ABBA!

I think Frida's had a few nips and tucks, actually. And Bjorn, of course, has used vats of hair and beard dye in the last couple of decades......but essentially, yes, they're unchanged. Agnetha's lack of vanity should be acknowledged, really: one of the pop world's great beauties has aged naturally.
@@grantc61 Frida, i estimate, did some job back in the '00s but that's great because she's a woman who liked to take care of her self to look more fresh but it all was in a 'natural" degree without ridiculous hyperboles.I approve of this.Now she is more 'laidback" and enjoys her life , the love she gets from us fans and the Abba legacy they've offered to the music scene.
frida hat some plastic surgery done a couple of years ago. she said so in an interview.
l didnt like the white clothes. they didnt look to good on them especially on agnetha who put on some weight, so black would have been better and more festive.

How akward, Swedish press despited them in these days. Love also the Abbatars at the end of this disgusting Eurovision in Malmo, Frida s accent was so charming.
