I bought this set a few months ago this year (roughly March/April 2018) and the design has changed slightly - the windscreen pieces now are shortened by the sides so they don't stick out, so the roof attaches in a different way (it has extra pieces on the underside to help it sit in place, without properly attaching). So this set has been rereleased without Lego even saying so... I don't like how flimsily the roof attaches (just two studs at the very back holding it on), but on the other side, it doesn't have the windscreen poking out longer than it should on the sides.
Anyone else only watch these all the way through on the sets you probably won't end up getting? A lot of these videos I can't watch all the way through if they're sets I want to build myself!
My brother gave me this set as a christmas present. I had so much fun building it! :D I'd consider myself a skilled builder, and it still took me 5 hours to complete (I was taking my time and enjoying the experience). There's a lot of cool building methods and techniques used in this model to achieve the iconic design of the Mini Cooper. The finished model is beautiful and I really enjoy looking at it as a display piece :) I highly recommend this set! ^_^ I want to buy and build the VW T1 Camper Van and the Ferrari F40 at some point in the future :P

lego did a great job with this set looks very good my parents got it and several people have said to them that they didn't even know that it was lego until they looked at it more closely
Hello Jason here. In this comment I give my opinion about the video and product. In this video it's obvious to see it takes time to build this incredible Lego model. This MINI Cooper has a lot of detail in it which requires a lot of bricks. The time lapse is fun to watch and gives you an idea of what you'll be dealing with once you get this Lego project in hands. The Cooper itself has a lovely dark green color that gives it a beautifull look on the in and outside of the build. The wheels are unfortunately not able to move but can rotate. On the front you can see the Cooper's Enige and at the back there is storage for a bread basket, a wheel and other items. Inside the car are two front seats which can move forward. The desk is full of details such as the steeringwheel, speed and gas meters and some other fun details. The outside of the Cooper is sleak and smooth and gives me personally a warm feeling that reminds me of my home country England. The origin of this beautifull lovely model. Car model: 10/10 Color: 10/10 Details: 10/10 Time lapse: 10/10 Thank you for reading my revieuw and opinion. Have a good one!
Love your great time-lapses, just shared this build today with the family and was watching this as a recap. Couldn't help notice at 4:58 you have the Silver Grill over the top of the Stereo. In our kit the instructions are debatable if it's supposed to be Silver or Black and in the end we decided it must be black.. then we used tall the Silver ones anyway for the front Grill of the car. Was your kit different....? Everything else looks the same and I certainly didn't end up with a Silver Grill left over.
You are missing a piece @4:56. According to step 58 from the instructions there should be a 1x8 with door rail on top of the black 99206's. I've noticed it because @5:07 the gray and green 1x8 tiles are not at the same level.

This is the old version of the lego mini cooper because the windshield is a 10 by 3, but the new vesion has a 10 by 2

I think this LEGO-build car looks and is pretty cool! Its much detailed, with the chairs and stuff.
My uncle would absolutely love this set! Just add some of those wheels in gold, and it'll be a model that looks like his MINI Cooper!
