    Thanks Sedge! Remember me (Mr Rick) I used to work for Lee Valley in Coquitlam. I spent a week with you at a Festool seminar in Lebanon years ago. Good to see your channel. 👍

    Sedge, got some Krud Kutter and a brass brush this morning. Blade looked new when I finished, was really “cruddy” when I started. Thanks for the video!!!

    Sedge, I just love your attitude and enthusiasm in all of your videos! You're one of the few woodworking guys she'll watch with me. She loves your personality too! Thanks for the awesome content, this was very helpful! I've built several picnic tables from treated SYP and there's already a lot of pitch buildup on my new Kapex saw's blade. I'll be doing this tonight!

    Formula 409 works as well. I did not want to get agitated by my wife, so I use one of my old toothbrushes and a vegetable brush. If you want a bowel to clean your blades in, a COSTCO pie carrier works just fine.

    What blade is that? I have the general wood that came with the TKS80, but yours might be an upgrade maybe?

    I’m not familiar with that product you used, as I’m not American. Was it oven cleaner?

    • @sedgetool
      @sedgetool  Год назад +1

      No ...not oven cleaner..a non toxic / bio-degradable cleaner called Krud Kutter..I think Simple Green is similar

    I followed this technique and my blade (that had been in my shop for close to 8 years without issue) rusted. I would not recommend this approach - it seems to damage the blade.

      @@sedgetool Lol. No. I didn't see this comment until I came back to report on my negative results using the method in this video. Blade is significantly rusted where it had been perfectly fine for years without issue before I used this technique.
