50cm-65cm is definitely the sweet spot for hole hunting. That setup looks great. My Riffe Euro 55 is still my go to gun for hole hunting. Powerful enough to hit 30+ ling and butt.
Nice setup. I hadnt thought about using a roller head for small hole gun. That handle is sweet! One of the most accurate for my natural point of aim. Its a Pathos D'Angelo 1 handle and thats a super sick upgrade to have the Ermes mech!
my Norcal gun is a 75, short enough to get into most holes but also has some range if diving in higher vis like in Monterey. 60 sounds super nice for holes tho
do you have any idea on who makes the roller itself ? because pathos never made a roller in that side/style and i want to build a gun like this. i know pathos sells rollers them selfs but i don't like the design. if i could get the design/ brand of the one you have here that would be great. Also i live in Malibu if you ever want to come up the coast and go for a dive let me know.
I am not 100% sure but it seems to be a MVD roller muzzle. The Rob Allen roller muzzle seems to be pretty close too. These super smooth rollers have ceramic bearings in them compared to the pathos systems which don't from my knowledge. Appreciate the invite! I don't remember the last time I made my way up there but I will keep that in mind. Appreciate the support and dive safe.
@@divespeareat just looked further into it, yeah its looks to be a MVD version one now they have version two out. i need to spec out my next spear gun to be like this one. i need a smaller gun that has the ability to perform like a big gun. Thanks again!
@@divespeareat I have a salvimar metal roller head on my pathos open and it fits perfectly. Its even better than the one in the video because the muzzle bungee is mounted to the side of the head rather than at the bottom and stays out of the way of the bands

Those Lingcod and Halibut you caught were huge! Thanks for sharing.

Right?!?! love the idea of packing a big punch with the roller system on a shorter gun. The upgraded Ermes mech is the icing on top.

75 does seem like a nice hole gun with some range. I still need to spear a Cabezon up there. Thanks for sharing.

@@alleybuilds5370 Oooo good to know! Thanks for confirming. Best of luck on the build and dive safe.

Do you know what's the code for lobster hunting in Palos Verdes?
The location code should be "56"
That is a epsealon roller muzzle. I have that same set up in a 90cm
Thank you for the info! Really solid roller muzzle
