The route from Yadanshan Pier in Zhoushan to Baifeng Pier in Ningbo was the most important sea route for the island city of Zhoushan to access the mainland. Since its official opening in 1986, this route has always been bustling, with ferries carrying crowds and vehicles leaving one after another. There are no fixed schedules; the boats depart as soon as they are full. During holidays, it is common for people to wait in line for hours.
