Between the dash and double jump, Bass most certainly set the stage for Zero's functionality and systems. The Bassnium power core is even triangular but not exactly like Zero's CPU core. But, Zero's feats alone still show him outclassing any the Classic cast, meaning any of Bass' parts (and certainly his disobedient programming, which Wily would be the type to simply discard and start again from scratch) would just be a liability.

Also the fact that Copy-X's behavior was almost identical to Bass'. The other evidence: X's Ultimate and Falcon Armors were capable of different kinds of flight (Nova Strike and hovering around), which are very similar to how Bass flought with the Trebble Adaptor in MM7 and MM&Bass respectively...
