What a great window into the past. When I was growing up outside Helensburgh in the sixties-seventies, Dumbarton was still the place you went when you needed something that you couldn't get in town. It's unfortunately, a shadow of its past now
how many of you locals remember the smell of the mash tuns coming from Ballantine's?

Lovely to see Dumbarton as it was, that was how my mum described it when she was growing up there on Cardross
    Road.

Thanks for that. I left High Street in 1967 to go to NZ. Great to drive down the old road right past where I lived.

At the start of the film, to the right just out of the picture was where I was born and lived until I was ten years old, in Strathleven Place. Memories.

Great film. Left here when I was 8 in 1962. However year is wrong. It must be at least 1963 as there is a Mark 3 Ford Zephyr which didn't come out till late 1962. Miss all my old schoolmates at Dalreoch Primary in Castle hill.
