It will also work while in the charging case, as the case is being charged via the USB-C cable. So,you can use this light while it and the charger are being charged simultaneously. Will this work with a standard 16340 or 3.7 volt?
10:50 what you explain here actually works the same with the baton 3 inside the case. The video would have shown it if you'd pressed the button longer. In the German Olight store they say that Baton 3 is "fully compatible". I think that's a bit misleading. If you press the button with the Baton 3 *locked* inside the case, it immediately unlocks it and turns it on. A locked Baton 4 stays locked and doesn't turn on. The case can't turn on the lowest brightness mode on the Baton 3 either.
I just bought the baton 4 with the charging case, little smaller then I thought, I think if they make the baton 5 about two sizes bigger, it could be the best light on the market.
Awesome gear, mine is on the way. However on the brightness ramp up while out of the case: this is probably a feature Olight is keeping for next gen release. I was selling high-end structural modelling software, whenever the new version was released some of the "new" features were in the software engine for years...i feel it's the same with Baton 4. I mean clearly the light is capable of ramping the brightness...we'll see in 2024 :)
This is 35% lighter in weight than warrior nano, it has about same runtimes but 200 lumens brighter high and 100 lumens brighter turbo. Nano came out month ago or so. This is basicly more powerfull and lighter than nano. How come they were able to squeeze more power out of from considerably smaller light?

This is exactly what I was afraid of. The Baton 4 has a smaller hotspot than the Baton 3. I do get that Olight is trying to impress with more throw in a new release, but for an EDC light I think they are going in the wrong direction. I would use this light as a walking light, meaning pointing it down into the ground and only illuminating the path directly infron of my feet. A smaller hotspot would be a disadvantage for me 😕
@@DigitalYojimboYep. It should be optional, not auto charging the light in the case though. I suppose could just drop in the plastic battery protection that comes in the light.
I own the baton 3 with the case. This is probably one of the best light combos I own. It provides more than enough light and I can carry it every. EDC call day. I just ordered the 4. Olight has the game on lock.

The step less dimming feature probably isn’t possible outside of the case because companies can’t give runtime numbers without having specific steps. It works in the case because they aren’t claiming any specific runtimes for the light while in the case.

Baton 3 does have step-less dimming while in the case. Fully functional, just like the Baton 4.
I bought the premium Baton 4 kit with the headlamp add on light. Can't wait for it to arrive. A+ Video.

How long can you run it on high if your running it while in the case ?

The nano has the metal tail switch, of course it's heavier.

Why would I buy a light with a battery pack, when I can buy a bigger light with more lumens and candela, that is still a smaller package all together
You can charge your phone from the battery pack. It's definitely not for everyone but I think it's an interesting concept.
