Eiik! Episode 1 of The Wedding Series is here! New episodes will be dropping on Wednesday and Sunday until the end of October! I’m so freaking nervous to share this, but I hope you enjoy this series! Looking forward to your comments and please do share it with a friend if you enjoyed! 😘
The Ayie is actually somewhat similar to the 'Lobola negotiations' proceedings in South Africa. When the family of the groom come to the brides house, they too would have to identify their bride. If they misidentify the bride, a penalty has to be paid. It just goes to show how similar we are as Africans. Cannot wait for more!!!! 😊
We have a similar ceremony in Rwanda 🇷🇼 called ' Gufata irembo' were de man goes to ask and identify the daughter he wants to marry , very similar Love de mother land❤️
As a black person who grew up in America, I am really in awe of the traditions you all are keeping to and continuing on. It is so special and I love to see it
@DeeDee took the words right out of my mouth. This was so beautiful. So happy for you Lydia! Can't wait to see the next episode of the wedding series 💍💖
I love how you guys stayed true to your culture. The ayie is similar to the zambian tradition when the man goes to the woman's family to say he has spotted "a flower" 🤣🤣 the wrapping bit is done then and at the kitchen party. I love seeing black British people keeping their heritage and culture alive! 💝💝💝 yeahh im living for this series 🥺🥺🥺
The conscious effort and time that has gone into filming this and making it available to us is so apparent! Quality, quality production 👌 Thank you for showing us this beautiful part of your personal life ❤
When it comes to the wedding, We african people we mean business😳🤣 when I was getting married, my son got fed up in the end and ask me how many weddings was i supposed to have 🤣🤣( Dowry ceremony, register office, and church wedding) when I saw the title "Wedding series " I thought some people may not get it lol🤣😳 Lydia , you made a beautiful bride and I I can't wait to watch all them series 😊 🤩
OMG it so amazing how similar our traditional wedding ceremonies are i.e the grooms family coming to the brides family home, picking their bride etc.. truelly Africa is one! I am Zulu from South Africa🇿🇦
One Minute and 40 seconds in...Wow, so you really planned a wedding and thought of your audience and created a TV level production for us randoms 🤣. Lydia we do not deserve this but thank you so much in advance for letting us in to something sacred and what I imagine will be insightful, transparent like the Reno videos and a Beautiful series. May your marriage be forever blessed with joy, contentment and Love...signed a random on the innanet 😅
Yelling🗣CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!🎶🥂🍾 I can’t believe how quickly the BIG day is approaching. All I can do is cheese. I was smiling so hard that my jaws hurt. Man, you both deserve this blessing of happiness. Watching you talk about him and your family in the same sentence gave BIG vibes.🥰 Your family is absolutely precious. Those ladies agreed to disown him should he choose the wrong bride. When he confidently said with authority “I know my Lydia,” we (the viewers) indoctrinate him all over again. He’s a keeper! The gentleman gave him serval chances to choose again. His answer, plain and clear “I know my Lydia.” That’s one ownership that hits totally differently. Undoing the dress to enjoy a snack, for sure is our Lydia. You wore that blue dress and made it your own. Shout out to the maker for creating such a work of art in four days. Kudos to you for it fitting to perfection. Great choices adopting professional help to ease the burdens and make your day as magical as the union. Hats off to him for partaking in even the smallest of details. He’s in it to win it for life. The arrangements are not just inclusive of the things you like but those things that are significant to him as well. Years later you can share each beautiful detail with you children, their children and their children’s children. Lydia, I’m so happy for you guys. May the work you do now be the same efforts established to maintain. Praying for nothing but jolly days, a mound of love and an endless ray of compassion. Until, next vlog... 🙏🏾Blessings BIG BIG L💞VE - 🌺InspirationByB a branch and affiliate of ⚜️HairByBy
The hair, the makeup, the dress, the eyes look of bride and groom, the everythingggggg for me. I’m authentically happy to watch this. I’m Congolese, we do that too, but the man ask the father not the mom. I live watching weddings. The videographer did an amaizing job. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations to you both again and plzzzz, stay together 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow the Ayie is so similar to the Lobola negotiations done in South Africa there are a few differences for example the groom is not allowed to be present whilst everything is taking place and the father and uncles of the bride are in charge not mom. Really cool to have learnt this about your culture Lydia !😀❤
This is so beautiful and similar to Mano tradition, I'm Liberian. it's beautiful how African traditions are similar yet different. Thank you for documenting this!
Absolutely love Dorothy Dinga. Always a pleasure to watch supportive, loving siblings being their for each other no matter what. May God Almighty continue to bless your union, looking forward to the rest of the wedding series.
I love that you had planners and event people take care of it all. It's a refreshing perspective outside of the usual bride saying she was stressed about everything and struggling.
I must commend Lydia. The quality of this episode is top-tier. This is an entire production! I absolutely love it. It was nice and refreshing to see some of the African traditions.

I had quite an attitude about a wedding series because they are normally compilations of very little footage and pictures trickling ever so slowly, but you Ms.@Lydia Dinga .... oooppssss Mrs Damini, have raised the standards. I watched all of it and loved it!!!! Your honeymoon was so long I had forgotten that you are the OG of content creation and that your editing game is top notch. I am here for it, all of it!!!! I know that bouquet......., I was here when you first picked it up and drove everywhere with it......talk about notifications gang. I’m too up-to date on your life‼️ Congratulations once again Nyathiwa, Polo Mor‼️
