    I agree with you!! Those commercials for Lumi are disgusting. AND, they advertise it as keeping you stink-free for 72 hours. 72 hours without a shower? That's three days!

    Lumi is even pushing their "Just take a shower" bundle. Nothing but a money grab.

    I think it's unnecessary. The commercials actually discourage showering. And the verbiage, ugh.

    No, it's not needed. Just wash up.
    The only reason I might consider it is to use it on my feet, but I just wash my feet if they smell.

    I believe this could be an American thing at this point. I've never seen anything like this advertised here in Australia. And we stink also! I had large clusters of cysts in my arm pits a year or so ago. Along with some lumps in my boobs, I thought I had breast cancer! Got scanned and turns out I just had clusters of cysts. I did some research and discovered all the nasty stuff that goes into the traditional sprays. I stopped using these sprays and went to a natural product based on coconut oil, bicarb soda etc and within 3 months I was cyst free. So, the thought of spraying something equivalent "down under" makes my eyes water. As far as "down under", that's what a flannel and running water is for!

      I agree, haven't seen these ads in Europe either, but if anything works in the States, ten EU companies try to replicate the success here, so I'm thankful the American ladies aren't letting this fly. And thank you for sharing your story, I have never ever seen any warnings about this on the deodorants! I wonder how many people experience this in silence

    I see that "more than just my armpits stink" ad 5 million times per day. Thanks for addressing this, I was actually considering buying one of these...but I'm sure that showering would be more effective.

    Aw heck no, I'm already embarrassed I was 30+ years old when I realised my leg hair is no more unhygienic than men's leg hair (but still I must take care of it if I want to, I don't know, keep a job). I don't want women to have a revelation their ... knees aren't stinky in another 30 years. Thank you for speaking up!

    No, we don’t need it and all these brands releasing it is just making me so freaking mad. It’s a cash grab if you ask me. We do not need full body deodorant. You would think that all the past lawsuits with the talcum powder being put in that nether region and now they are telling us to put deodorant in that region ….no, not doing that. Just take a shower and if you’re smelly just take another shower!!! Ugh!!!

    I don't know. I've been seriously considering these things since the menopause decided to start sneaking up on me. Going through menopause and perimenopause really makes you have to relearn your whole hygiene situation. Now I know some women don't go through menopause. I know some women go through menopause without symptoms. I know that for my 44 years of life I never had underarm odor until 3 months ago. Like I can shower at 9:00 p.m. and by 8 a.m. there's a twang happening😅

    • @magicalspacegiraffe
      @magicalspacegiraffe 19 дней назад

      I don't have an experience with menopause, but I have noticed that my, as you call it, twang is way worse when I wear polyester clothing (all day hikes in the sun are a great test 😅). I tried to switch to cotton, viscose, wools (especially merinos) wherever possible and I feel like the difference is huge. But it is hard, nowdays 99% of clothing everywhere is polyester, it's crazy, even what I would think is higher end brands 😬

    This reminds me of the “feminine hygiene” sprays back in the 70’s. Advertisers were telling women that they needed to be ashamed of their odours (if they indeed existed?). Meanwhile, gynaecologists were saying to stay away from it because it was not needed and possibly harmful. This is just another round of marketers making people feel insecure and self conscious about themselves.

    I do have to say that I use Lume since I’ve gone through menopause. My underarms became stinkier and Lume really works for me. I still shower everyday, but I’m not so self conscious since using Lume.

    • @Upper_echelon_exotics
      @Upper_echelon_exotics 20 дней назад

      I like Lume for my feet kinda but regular antiperspirant is actually fine to use your feet. They had some small tubes of Lume at Walmart so I tried it. It's supposed to be a citrus scent but it smells awful to me. I guess it's probably the base of the product I don't like. I did think it worked pretty good for my feet. The only time I feel a need to use it anywhere else is when I get tattooed. Otherwise no one should be close enough to me to really smell me 😅 So just showering is usually enough for me and wearing regular antiperspirant. But for more intimate appointments it kinda makes me feel better 😅
