Congratulations to Kumari Smanuitha Bijith and her Guru Sri Sasi Kottakkal on a wonderful bharatanatyam performance of the great composer Swathi Thirunaal's composition Shankara Srigiri, an invocation to Lord Siva. The artist showed considerable fluidity of movements and expressions while performing a demanding rhythm, with poise of a piece that tests the dancer's athletic ability. She shows great promise for a bright career in bharatha natyam, one of the dance forms from south India. The static camera could not follow the artist while she approached the peripheri of the dance floor and helpful floor marking of limits could have avoided this. A brief introduction to the composition, the raga and summation of the meaning of the lyrics would be appreciated by the uninitiated attendees in the audience. This sincere comment comes all the way from United States to Netherlands. Thank you.
