    Thanks for the entire collage and different style of compositions. In the list I knew Brian Crain and Yiruma for years, is a great lover of Ennio Morricone, and let's say a very nice version of Astor Piazzolla's "Oblivion" is included. Nice to hear them again. My exploration here is Luke Faulkner's works, love them all and heard the first time. The hardest to listen completely was 35th for me, oops!

    Who would of thought you’d actually find trolls on a classical music Chanel listen most people don’t really care about the fact it’s not actually contemporary or not it’s just good music so stop taking it out on halidon it’s a good arrangement so @HALIDONMUSIC thank you

    • @Nullifidian
      @Nullifidian 3 года назад +1

      It's not trolling to want to have a video accurately characterized for the people who are looking for _actual_ contemporary classical. If this were titled New Age and Minimalist Music, I wouldn't have batted an eye (nor would I have clicked on it). I'm here because I wanted to listen to something in a modernist style, with more than half a hope that some of the pieces might be new to me and give me some new directions for my listening. There's nothing for me here.

    • @underscoreellipsesdothyphe1563
      @underscoreellipsesdothyphe1563 3 года назад +1

      Eeh you must be new to the classical RUclips and classical music. I'll give you some advice - NEVER call something like Ludovici Einauldi "classical" because you'll get all the hardcores shouting you down because its what they do. "Minimalism" and "New Age" aren't really regarded as "classical" music in the same vein as something by Haydn for example, its more regarded as "pop" and easy listening piano a la Richard Clayderman et al. Most classical fans are *cunts* so will generally just tear you a new one if you call someone like Richard Clayderman classical.
      So in terms of "what is this", the title I guess should be "Minimalism and New Age" or "Easy listening Piano".

    Amazing how many people thing this stuff is classical because it's on piano and has arpeggios. John Adams, Christopher Rouse, Thomas Ades, Tippet, Richard Danielpour, Aaron J Kernis, Stephen Jaffe, etc..those are classical composers. Not even John Williams film scores are classical.

      @@thebajanarabian3437 great question. No it is not classical. It is a film score. Although film scores can often sound like classical music, they are not. John Williams, who writes many film scores also writes classical concert. His film scores are very nineteenth-century style while his classical music written for concert hall is very different.

    I am into this over an hour now, and it all pretty much sounds like lounge music. Where are the rolling drums of thunder, the profound utterance of the more base instruments, the weeping violins, the triumph of trumpets, and on? Where is the story told that will be forever told again? It does feel good though just to lounge, but I was expecting so much more. The quaking of the earth, the opening of the heavens, and that great mystic truth revealed to all men that should correct our ways, and lead us to a place that only the imagination has ever dared to wander, or hoped to go? Something born more ethereal than flesh, yet with more substance than the hand can hold, or the mind can ever fathom. What is this, and why are such thoughts so elusive? This my friend is why we must first touch the face of God before that we can ever entertain the ear of this same said creature he did at last bring to form, and named Man as the final stroke of his creation.
    I am not a critic set with ruinous debauchery upon the fair attempt of many, even the great, but neither a flatterer with even a greater capacity to destroy such innocence. It is all pretty good music in it's own right, my mind was just set on something quite else going into it, nothing more.

    So.. Have we reached a conclusion on what style of music this is? Asking bc I am always looking for music like this to study. I have heard "neoclassical". This is what came up when I searched for "beautiful neoclassical music"... Which is not a genre, lol. Oh and absolutely beautiful pieces btw.

    • @Tarotoratea
      @Tarotoratea 4 года назад +3

      I am having this same problem. I have loved listening to orchestrated music from video games (like work of yasunori mitsuda, jeremy soule, or nobuo uematsu). I feel they distinguish themselves because I like that they tend to be short and retain clear melodies--great for playlists. I've been trying to branch out of just this type of music to find more composers like this, but I can't even find a name for this genre. Two Steps from Hell and Audiomachine come close, but nearly all of their pieces are hybridized or very high energy; they don't really compose anything relaxed. Some movie music also comes close, but after touching on the basics like Hans Zimmer, I hit another dead end.
      I think our problem comes full circle because, within recently composed orchestral music, there are multiple different styles and subgenres; like movie music, video games music, etc. as far as I can tell, neoclassical is the only word that has even attempted grouping all of these genres together. Problem is, google "neoclassical" and nothing really comes up. So in other words, I don't think there is a name for this type of music. There almost certainly isn't one with any utility.
      As others in this comment section have pointed out though, the music specifically in this playlist might not best be described as "neoclassical" because it isn't really related to the style of classical. I think "neoclassical" would too easily be confused with "modern classical music" like John Adams. But it's the best we've got, for now.

    This IS contemporary classical, whether you like it or not. You must expand your vision of what contemporary classical music is. It is not just music in the vein of Pierre Boulez and others. This music is definitely written in the style of traditional classical music, but if you listen carefully, you will notice that there is a quality about it that is quite modern. So, this music IS classical, but with a modern flair. MODERN is a synonym of contemporary. So, there you have it. CONTEMPORARY CLASSICAL MUSIC. That is most definitely what this is!

    Celkom fajn tvorba. Kľud, pohoda, krása. ✌️Aj keď je to občas epigonske a nedosahuje umeleckú úroveň starých majstrov. Ale začať nejako obrodu vyššej kultúry treba. Ten metal a rap či pop je jedna nekultúrna a trápna katastrofa.

    What's the common difference between classical music and contemporary classical one?

    • @Nullifidian
      @Nullifidian 3 года назад +1

      There isn't a hard distinction. It's just that "classical music" in its broadest sense encompasses everything since the invention of notation in Western music in the 9th century CE, whereas "contemporary classical" is Western art music composed since either 1900 or the mid-20th century, depending on whether you want to distinguish between "contemporary" and "modern".
      However, most of this stuff is New Age music, not classical music.

    People on here commenting what is and what isn't contemporary classical music when it's just a search away. To all the people calling this "pop" and "instrumental" do your research. Contemporary classical music is just music composed close to present day and can be serial, electronic, experimental, and so on. I swear some people just slap personal definitions on everything.

    A. Litvinovski: Talles.... Bolo by to pekne, ak by sa všetko neopakovalo 1000x.Toto je choré a nudné.
    Na druhej strane Cuatro Estaciones 2.10.10 je skvelá skladba. Vždy niečo nové, aj keď sa opakuje, má to formu, poriadok a šťavu Aj tak si idem radšej pustiť Čajkovského 6.symfoniu. To aby som trochu vyzdravel z marazmu 😊

    Some of these tracks are so excessively repetitious that you can pick any random point in them and hear the same exact notes repeating ad nauseam. Some of the other tracks are just fantastic, though.
