Before watching the video i feel most manwha i see (i dont usually read them i just see those crappy recap yt channels showing them) feel the same, wether its artstyle, character design, lack of character depth. They dont fr deviate, but im kind of an unreliable source since like i stated, i only see or hear them from content farms
I think another reason is that Manhwa's are still in the early stages, so many of the popular manhwa are adaptations from novels (solo leveling, ORV, TCF), thus as its popularity increases there will be better manhwa's coming out that are not adaptations. Another thing is that imo Korean and Chinese authors are way better at making novel type works, much better than light novels. Works like Reverend Insanity, ORV, and LOTM (which is getting a donghua next year) are all comparable if not better than the greatest manga's of all time.
hot take but imo manhwa can't compare because that specific word sounds annoying af and I can't bring myself to read any of them because of it probably just me but that's okay
