because its not only serious and believable while at the same time not depressing, has awesome action, the first two seasons didn't have villains (or antagonistic in the four guardians case) with unsympathetic goals, has elements of Sci-fi, and happy endings.

Nanoha couldn't beat DBZ characters, because space and time can't beat them.
