@@dennylekstrom4517 you know you can still do that with the draugr fang you just need to be farther away. If you back up with the target disappears if you move farther it won't even agro when you hit it regardless of if the arrow poisons, sets them on fire, or freezes.
Three tips I can add. 1) This has to do with using the Growths to kill monsters for you. Take careful note of the Growths' position and movement in the Tar Pit. Usually, they are mobile and can leave the pit to get to you or other targets. But sometimes they glitch and get 'stuck' in the middle of the pit. You can test this by running past the edge of the pit. If the Growth just sits there and doesn't try to follow you, it's glitched. It will always be exactly in the middle of the pit. When a Growth is in this position, melee enemies (Lox and melee Fulings) can't get to it. They will just stand at the edge of the pit while the Growth shoots them repeatedly, they don't even seem to know where the Growth is. I have had a single Growth in this glitch position kill several Lox for me, along with a starred Fuling Berserker. Ordinarily, a single Growth would have no chance - even in tar - against a Lox or Berserker. But when the Lox or Berserker just stands there dumbly... Be aware, though, that ranged enemies like Fuling Shamans or Spear Fulings can still attack and kill the Growth. So be sure to only lure melee monsters to the edge of the pit. 2) When taking on hordes of Fulings, liquid is your friend. Water or tar wreaks absolute havoc on Fuling combat AI. Even a narrow knee-high stream can turn Fulings into sitting ducks. It slows them down greatly and often they just stand in the stream looking at me, seemingly unsure of how to get out of the water. Fuling villages often have Tar Pits near to them. If you have lured Fulings to the Tar Pit first to clear out the Growths, the empty Tar Pit becomes a safe haven. Run to it and around the edge of it. Instead of following you around the edge, the pursuing Fulings will wade through the tar to get to you. This again turns them into sitting ducks. The other bonus is that their Black Metal sinks into the tar where it is preserved and won't despawn. You can come back days later, drain the Pit and get not only the Tar but all the Black Metal that the Fulings dropped. 3) If you want to take Deathsquitoes out of the game - and I mean COMPLETELY - wear the Root Harnesk and run through Plains with an Atgeir equipped. Squitoes do 6 damage to me when I'm wearing the Harnesk due to its Pierce resistance. I don't even bother looking for Squitoes, I fight them by sound alone. They can and do attack from any direction but that is irrelevant. I just listen for the rising pitch and volume of their buzzing as they zoom in to attack. When I hear that, I do the special sweep attack with the Atgeir. Boom, Squitoes down. It doesn't matter which direction they come from, the Atgeir sweep attack will kill them. The Harnesk also nerfs Spear Fulings big time. I used to consider those the most dangerous Fulings. Not any more, the Harnesk renders them almost harmless. Do be careful around Shamans, though, as they now become deadly with their fireballs and the Harnesk's weakness to Fire.
I tried the unnamed portal trick but it glitches out. I removed the plains portal and went home by boat. Noticed the portal was up so I was like "oh must have forgot, let me check".... was in the middle of the plains, on half repaired gear, with the nearest portal being through the roughest patch of mistlands on the server... I went from sneak 5 to sneak 15 in that trip alone
this is so useful, i didn't know a bunch of things that now make absolute sense, like the bombs. never thought of using them, but now i will come prepared for battle! :D
If you are sniping Fuling village with a bow, do not shoot at Berserkers. They will roar when hit and alert others. You'll get swarmed. However Berserkers do not roar if they just see you - use it to lure them away from the village.
I have a tip for you: in order to kill deathsquitos easier just bring an atgeir, the heavy attack does a spin which is really easy to time and has a long range, it’s much better because you could find yourself fighting with two at the same time but kill them both even if they come from different direction
I didn't fully conquer the plains til I got to mistlands lol, arbalest and demolisher go hard. Now I use exclusively black metal arrows and bolts cause they are somehow cheaper than bone. Before hand though, my strat was just "run" cause I like the fenris set too much to ever switch. Made attacking with bows and finishing lone enemies 10x easier BUT I would get absolutely deleted by a berserker if it hit me and crowds of mosquitoes were pain. As a note, mosquitos seem to not have an aggro range cap. I've had one chase me over an entire mountain and through a small blackforest as I was trying to get my gear back...
Everytime I open tamed a lox they almost immediately ran off to fight all the neaby enemies and died. (Note my little planes domain was nect to a swamp).
@@reyhaz Are you running testing or stable version of Valheim? Any mods? I was using the battleaxe to harvest the barley just yesterday and it worked with no issues. (stable, vanilla)
Worst biome ever. Was hyped to get here to find out its a snooze fest and find out I need to go back to the even more boring swamp to get even more iron. What a over hyped boring game. Its a tedious farming simulator with 80% of the game unfinished. Particularly the mountain biome which was just sad and pathetic I think I spent maybe 5 or 6 hours there had a ton of silver and killed moder what a boring climbing simulator. This game without mods is trash.
Didn't know about the huntsman's bow. Great tip.

Great tips! The unnamed portaltrick is so smart, will use thst for sure. Just got back into the game after a long hiatus, and I'm so hyped!
Thank you! I’m glad the video helped!

The most valuable tip is that no tag portals still work with each other, just wow, played for 2,5 year and i never knew this LOL Thanks!

Use root harnesk for the deathsquitos and fuling spearmen. It's super strong, against pierce. The downside tho, weak to fire.
Definitely a good piece of armor!
great tip on the bow

Those Mistland weapons are nice!
Been waiting on this!
I have been murdered going thru a portal more than once. I don't trust that at all, but the bow trick is very helpful.
Understandable, you've gotta stay safe!
really good , thx mate. I am off to recover my stuff :)
Hopefully you get it without too many problems!
ive tried the atgier harvesting method, always thought it rendered less crops somehow. good vid
Thanks!
But then item duping is a thing.
Wear the root chest and drink barley wine. Deathsquitos and ranged Fulings will not be able to kill you
Definitely a good mix!
"high risk high reward"
okay, i'll take it. :D
That's definitely my style too!
A lot of times lox will kill the growths, my friends and I would lure lox for that and then harvest the tar

If someone has made it to the plains, I think they know to use portals to escape back to base
attacking crop no longer applies.. it will destroy it as with any other crop
Nope. Still works. It only applies to fully grown Barley and Flax, though. Maybe that was the issue?
