I fell asleep getting my tattoo. It wasnt small either. It takes up my whole shoulder and i slept the whole way through it. And as soon as it was done i started drawing my next one
This is dans girlfriend I had one put on my upper back shoulder to shoulder down to my brastrap with a single needle from prison and fell asleep during it then I also had one on the front of my neck between my chin and ear fell asleep through that one also. But what I did feel I liked.
Tattoo pain gets harder for pretty much everyone. It's not really about age, it's about you body assuming it is going to hurt and not building the same resistance as the first times. So the first tattoo ever is the less painful one and from there it just keeps getting worse, usually. Also you should avoid the use of creams like EMLA for tattoos as much as possible. They make your skin harder, so it is even harder for the tattoo artist to work on it. They take more time which is actually worse for your body even if you can't feel the pain at the moment, and the results are not as good as if you just endure the pain.
Those snail masks are the shit btw! My mom got them bc we are Korean and she was like they have to be good. Turns out, they were! Genuinely surprised lol 😂
i have to say, i have gotten a tattoo on my ribs, just recently actually and it was so painful. it is this HUGE rib piece and i couldnt move for almost a week because it hurt so bad
Usually the numbing stuff won't work on places with a lot of bones. Try Hush. I've used it for both of my hip to foot tattoos and it was helpful while it lasts lol.

I believe tattoo artists have a numbing oil (or something along the lines) that they rub into your skin WHILE tattooing, it has to get into the micro-tears/wounds and only then will it numb the area they're working on. I, personally, have not tried it, but my wonderful ink-slinger has used it on some clients who go in to get larger tattoos like back-pieces and said it really does wonders.
I got my first tattoo what I was 17 so 2 years ago and it didn't hurt after I get do with all the festival's at my job I'm going to get another one for my grandmother who pasted always of cancer about 6 years ago the on I have now is one for my 2nd mother who passed away from cancer on Oct .24.2015 so basically all my tattoos are going to have some meaning behind them .it didn't really hurt but it defantily wasn't too comfortable lol

For future reference, lidocaine in general doesn’t work unless the skin is already broken and it can sink into a wound. Because I used a lidocaine gel when I got my sternum tattooed but you have to break the skin for it to work. So I had to put it on after she did the outline, but after that it was smooooth sailing lol no pain at all
i was drinking when i got my first tattoo, i still felt it, but i got one across my upper back, i had bruises on the inside of my thighs from gripping them during it, the shading was the hardest
More bony areas hurt more. Couldn’t breathe when I got my ribs tattooed it hurt so much! And yes be careful with Amazon, I got the chocolate cigs and they taste like ass.
