I loved your message of giving things away rather than selling them because “It has already been paid for, it just needs to be used.” Loved that. Definitely will be carrying that on❤️
Something to think about. Winter boots/coats, if your family has room to store one for you & Chad (obviously little man would be outgrown) leave a set there for visits! My in laws live in FL but come up for Christmas & we keep their boots/coat in the guest closet for them.
We are moving to Florida too! Waiting on our house to be finished being built! I would love to see how you guys pack. This is our first time moving long distance. We have only moved across town 😅
We moved from KY to TX using Pods. My main recommendation is to pack them strategically and securely! We had a bookshelf break from a mattress falling against it. And always double and triple check the items you're moving and how many pods you need. We moved from a 1,000 sq ft home and still needed two of them.
We moved three years ago after being in our old house 27 years. Our attic was filled. It took a few weeks to go through that. It was mostly our daughters things. And clothes. I went through so much stuff it was ridiculous. We moved from Ohio to north Georgia. It does get chilly here. So I do have a winter coat. But no warm boots and not too many sweaters. I came down with my daughter and our three dogs. My husband finished the moving and drove the moving van. I didn’t get half the things I wanted. But we downsized a lot. It’s just amazing how much stuff you can accumulate. And you’ve only been in your house a few years. I know your new house will be beautiful too. I can’t wait to see it.
Yay! Watching this makes me even more excited for your move! I wish we decluttered more when we moved to FL because we got a bigger moving truck only to get rid of most of our stuff within the first year of moving. You guys are definitely being smart with your process. I can’t wait to see your new home!
I have had to move cross country a few times over the last 15 years and you are doing great on getting rid of stuff. Nothing worse then paying a lot of money to move “junk” or things that may not fit your new space! Some things can be replaced and hold no sentimental value. Congrats on moving to a warmer climate! I moved from Michigan to Georgia 2011-2015! Currently in Texas
So much different emotions watching this vid. Happy, excited, yet sad all at the same time. Adored the way you were able to give away things without a price tag ❤️
That was great decluttering. You really made the decisions seem sensible and easy especially when parting with pretty and useable things you don't need in Florida. You'll be so glad not to get to Fla and have to throw away a bunch of stuff.
havent used pods before but heard to use airtags or something similar to track your pods. good luck on your move so excited for all the new things your move will bring!
I used pods to move states definitely recommend totes you can always reuse in garage after bubble wrap, moving blankets and we used tie down straps from home depot to prevent everything from falling/moving around and we stacked/packed strategically to maximize space in pod
Congratulations on the move to Florida! My husband got orders here 4 years ago and we bought out first house in 2018 we made the move from San Diego 😊 it’s definitely different here but it’s been worth it! I’m in Jacksonville 💕 excited for all the new content!!! 🌴
Moving is one of those beasts that you truly have to divide and conquer the beauty of it the blank canvas you get to start on. Now I know there are definitely challenges with moving companies right now (those who use them ) and backs and knees and the use of neighbors you know lol. Great video I love giving and donating as well. Toys are hard for me too I always gotta do those not around the kids and have a system for storage. great video!🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Hi, Alexandria. Wow that's nice your giving away stuff. 👍 Living with Cambria. RUclips just moved to Florida. She has experience with the pods. She explains a lot on her last videos. She posts every Friday. I'm so happy for you all. Best of luck.
Man we moved across country last March. We moved from Las Vegas to Florida. It was MY first time moving across country. We had to down size like a lot and get rid of a lot of stuff too. If u guys ever need a professional organizer I’m your gal. Haha good luck to u guys! I would also love to see a packing video too. I think that would be awesome! I think going through baby stuff and clothes is the hardest u can do to down size. We don’t have kids but I can only imagine how difficult it is cause your baby toys can be very sentimental. Especially like their very first toy that you’ve bought for them. Same thing with your clothing. I think clothing is really hard to downsize with. Cause then u have to think about buying a whole new wardrobe for a different claimant. I had to do that with my winter clothes since it gets in the 30’s in Vegas. We don’t need that here in Florida. It’s always warm. Maybe a few times in winter is when it gets below freezing but that’s hardly ever. I think u guys will definitely enjoy it out here. ♥️
We used the ABF type pods to move from NY to NC. My main tip is use as many cardboard boxes over plastic bins as possible!! We had quite a few broken plastic bins once we got to NC and unloaded!
We moved to a different state two years ago, we used PODS had a great experience. No hiccups on our end. We had 3 large containers, love that you also monitor pickup/drop-off schedule with your online account. So many people moving nowadays experiences may vary. I cannot stress it enough packing supplies is key. If you think you don’t have enough, get more. It’s very important strap everything down tight, we probably went overboard, but I’m OK with that because my couches, bed frames, dressers, gym equipment etc did not get ruined. Things will shift and moved, so invest in moving blankets, bubble wrap etc. Best of luck! Congratulations on your new journey. ☺️
Sooo excited for this! I’m currently packing and moving a week from now😳 I was honestly just thinking a few weeks ago man I wish she would post some moving/ packing videos that would help a ton! Perfect timing🥹
We used a POD to move it was great. Packed at our own pace which was great for decluttering. Try to condense as much as possible and put all the items you need asap in last so it’s first out. Quadruple wrap any TVs or computers in boxes.
Hi Alexander, Happy Thankful Thursday..I know how that feels..but you Got this; Thanks for your Video..pray for strenght through it All here and in your Bew Home...May God be with you and your family all Through it All😊💖🙏
Oh one thing I recommend using for glass cups when packing is cup dividers for your boxes. I’m sure Amazon has them plus fabric ones so they don’t clash against each other while on the road. Good luck!
I'm so happy for you guys. Actually as of today we are in Orange Park Florida for vacation visiting family leaving this Saturday back home to Idaho. It's really beautiful and you're going to get use to the humidity but it's really not too bad.
Just a heads up on ones moving to Florida, home insurance will be hard to find due to the hurricane season, home owners are running out of insurance options
I am so excited for you and your family! I cannot wait to see the new house. Do you have a website where your selling your items? I'd love take a look of what you're selling.
I moved three houses down the block a year and half ago. We spend so much storing things while our new house was under construction.. lesson learned sell as much as you can and buy new. You will want new furniture and things in your new house anyways 😄. Your last video made me want to move somewhere warm haha. Happy for you guys n good luck with your move!
I moved from New York to Florida. I love it and would never move back upstate even if I was paid. As far as hiring a moving company my husband owns his own trucking business so we just used our own equipment to get down south, thank God. The culture and living in Florida is completely different so be prepared. Yes- this is a red state and yes we do support Trump. We are sweet and kind and like small talk. We own guns because it’s our right to do so. And be prepared that no one here can drive, you’re very likely to have a car accident, regardless of your fault or not, within the first 6-12 months of moving here. Florida is a no fault state, and the insurance companies only pay up to $10,000 in damages. They will not pay any more than that- if you own a 100,000 Tesla it does not matter. By law the state will only pay up to $10,000 in damages. Safe travels and I hope you’re able to adjust well to the state- it will be a culture shock for sure! Have fun 💖
No I love that mirror in your kitchen omg please link we’re to find it! Love all your deco and style… Congratulations on your new home. Can’t wait to see all the new updates..🏡🫶
I moved cross country 3 times. Each time I donated or trashed lots of stuff, but, especially the 2nd time, I still brought things I didn’t use n the new home. Our moves were paid for by his employers, but I like to get rid of things, so I did. This last time, we wanted new furniture so brought much less. We did bring an extra car and a boat & trailer. Both were damaged during the move.
Can't wait to see the new place and how you will decorate. I love starting fresh too but wow, you got rid of some nice furniture and toys and makeup LOL
So at the beginning of 2022 I did the same journey that you are currently doing but I moved from Florida to Maryland and I used the pods and my number one recommendation would be to stack everything as together as you can as well as tie everything down to the sides that is my number one recommendation to group everything together and try to keep them as close as you can so that there’s no room for your items to move around
Hi Alexandra so I subscribed today. I have been watching your channel for a while. You have a such a beautiful family. Thank you for all the lovely content and congrats on the move and new beginnings... Much love from Cape Town South Africa.
You do a better job letting go a lot more than I could! You have a beautiful style. I wish I could have the pink chair and ottoman! Love it! Keep up the great work!
Please let me know about your experience with pods! We are waiting for our home to finish being built and we are moving to Florida too but decided to use movers. But would consider pods if they are significantly cheaper
Are you still going to keep your same decor style and aesthetic? 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Like, the white and blue (with a touch of pink)??? Or are you going to completely switch up the style once you move? I have always LOVED your decor style and how it’s so unique from what everyone else has. All the boho/farmhouse/etc. decor has everyone’s homes looking exactly the same. Lol. And yours was just so pretty and different. And it always looked SO clean! You know certain decor styles can just make a house look dark or cluttered or dirty and yours looked so bright and airy and clean.
Wow thank you so much! Definitely similar to what I have now! I do want to add a little more color variation to give off those Florida vibes though lol. 💖
I heard the pods are a pain. And people have put air trackers in their pods to have some sort of tracking on knowledge on their location. I hope it goes smoothly, but we’ve always used moving companies to travel cross country.
We’re moving to the south in 6 months and have to get rid of so much because we’re downsizing until we build a new house and want to start fresh and be very minimal. I dream of the goodwill coming and taking everything. lol!
Hi! I have been watching since your last house. I am excited to see your new one. Will you have an office in your new house? It always is my favorite room of your houses. 😊
I worked for a moving company, Mayflower, two summers in college. They hired girls to pack- thinking we'd be more careful than men. Don’t get rid of all your winter stuff. It gets cold in central Florida in the winter despite what people think!
I dream of the goodwill coming and taking everything. lol!
I wish I lived in America sometimes I would so take half your donations it's so beautiful that pink chair and that clear chair 😍😍😍

I worked for a moving company, Mayflower, two summers in college. They hired girls to pack- thinking we'd be more careful than men.
