@@josephhorn7229 still, he cheated in a single player game, especially in an action horror game, the thrill is gone if you always have more than enough resources, you are are not playing the game to its fullest potential like using the traps around the map, using flashbangs for melee and save ammo using shotguns for crowd control, using magnum only for the toughest ganado like the handheld machine gun fella, using only stingray rifle for the regenerator etc. There's a reason the game allows you to hoard resources with a stealth or knife mechanic and force you to spend the ammo during crowd fights, it's to never be in a comfortable zone and actually using your quick problem-solving skills. He was the man at 13:00 was playing with tons of ammo yet died because he was too fixated on getting a kill instead of reading the room he was in and actually exploit the stealth since leon already said he can't see and he was crouching plus the chains outside the cells were a clue that he can hear the clinking sound, even i myself who isn't a hardcore fan of Resident evil yet i still enjoy their games knew what the play was during my first play for RE4R, there was just too many clues, but yeah sure it's a single player game .

Fun Fact: The Garrador can absolutely hear you reloading your guns, HOWEVER it can NOT hear you reloading the Bolt Thrower, but the fact it can hear you reloading your guns is a really cool detail, they didn't have to include that but it's great that they did. Basically, the Garrador, unlike the Licker, has two states, passive and aggresive. During passive mode, he will slowly walk towards you while doing random animations, such as him trying to hear Leon better (much like the Licker's alerted state). Any loud sound, such as chains, shots, or running can trigger his aggressive state in which he can either charge at you, run towards you, or swing his claws in random directions hoping he lands a few hits on you.

I can tell these people didn't read the "Merchant Tip: Midnight Stroll" file. I just hoped they figured it out later in the game. And also, there's an achievement where you have to kill Garrador with knife only.
Depending on the difficulty you're playing on, it takes a few back stab attacks to kill it. Normal knife attacks wont work because leon gives his position away by grunting when he swings his knife
first garrador was knife only for me than double garrador was shotgun with added bonus that the armored one damaged the parasite of the other which made it really funny to take both out with a few shells

I'm the complete opposite. I didn't think you could just leave. The crank taking so long seems like a deliberate way to slow you down so much, that you can't just walk out, because the Garrador is just gonna interrupt you. I thought that was the entire point of having cranks all over the game. To stall the player, so they can't just walk past a section they're meant to fight in. Though, to be fair, I also didn't think you could parry Garradors, because those claws just look like you can't parry them. So I guess there is just a lot of stuff in this game that you wouldn't notice.
For a lot of these players to claim the original was their favorite RE game, you would think they'd know what to do here. almost everyone I seen play this part kept running around like maniacs and the gamer in me was getting so frustrated lol.
More ppl have called the original RE4 one of their all-time favorite games since the remake released than I've heard in the last 18 years put together lmao.

its optional due to you can open the door and leave however there is a chain right in front of the crank wheel so its usually better to kill him than open the door that and he gives a good amount of pesetas an is easy to kill so really no downside to fighting him other than patience. also most lets players tend to focus on the enemy more than the surrounding so they tend to miss alot of things.
TECHNICALLY, it is optional, but it can get very hairy trying to get out of that area. You have to lure him all the way back to the cell where he was restrained, stun him, haul ass back to the exit, and hope you can get the door open before he runs back to you. Honestly, it's easier to just take him out. As long as you understand he navigates solely by sounds, it's not hard to get behind him and nail him in the weak spot with either precision rifle shots or point blank shotgun blasts.
He is also technically optional if you just clip straight through the main door, before even entering the dungeons. With how easy (on PC at least) that glitch is, it feels almost intended.

If you watch his full walkthrough, he only runs if the Garrador heard him then returns being stealthy after he is sure it's safe to do so after gaining some distance. You don't even need to play the original first to know to be quiet when fighting the Garrador since it's already so obvious.

Fun fact: during the time when the parasite on Garrador's back is fully exposed (after shooting or stabbing it) a flash grenade actually does massive damage. But in this example that wasn't the case so using it served no purpose.
I don't the point he is making is about speaking like leon. I think the point is that if the player speaks, it will attract the boss towards them. This idea actually reminds me of a few games with this concept. Where being silent during certain parts of the game will allow you to win.

I literally just crouched and stabbed and he didn’t hit me once. This was my first time experiencing resident evil 4, so thank God i played the evil within 2 with its demon clickers. I was trained for this.
Bruh this boss was so easy i got the kill with only knifes first try and took no damage just by crouch walking the whole time i didn't even k ow you could kill him with guns
Ya that was the achievement but it was so much more esier and only cost 3000 coins worth of durability. Its like with grym in bg3 were it was honestly simpler to just beat its head in with a hammer then using the forge
Game spends so much time telling you how to stealth attack, and these people go in guns blazing, lol. I took all 3 of these guy out with just a knife. Crouch, sneak, and get behind them. Run away. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Technically it's a skippable boss fight. You can clip through the locked door in the first hall if you have a scope. So you can just skip the dungeon part and the Garrador boss fight

Out all the sub-bosses, this one's very easy because of the stealth mechanics. It takes some patience, but very easy.

When he mean optional, he ment you can just exit the arena provided the Garrador doesn't hear you winding the crank.
There is a conveniently placed chain right on top the crank so you have to make noise to get out
