First off, your background dio is SICK! If I remember, you made that? Either way, it’s awesome! Second, I sort of hate the Hasbro head sculpts. The Last Crusade and the Naked Indy look good, but the rest of the sculpts just don’t hit right. The Mezco, while not a perfect Harrison Ford likeness, looks SO GOOD. I’ve only got 3 Mezco. Darkseid, Superman, and Indy. I love them all, and don’t feel like I’ve overpaid for any of them - but over $100 for a toy is A LOT. If you don’t LOVE Indy, I’m not sure I’d suggest this guy. But I do. I LOVE INDIANA JONES. So my Mezco is a treasure to me - it belongs in a museum! Another amazing video Gains! Thank you for the holster tip!!
I have the Figma, the Hasbro, the Sideshow, the SH Figuarts and the Mezco figures. I had the Hasbro repainted and, stay with me, it is the best one by far. The only issue is the damn whip holder, but you simply can’t imagine how much better the Hasbro version looks with a good paint job, it really looks like a mini- Harrison Ford. Unbelievable, but true.
I have the Hasblow one, being in Toronto, working with our sheeeet dollar, had to pass on the Mezco. Good reference comparison video Mate... laughed my ass off with the "head" head bit!! 😅
Hey just to give you a heads up about the torch, you were wondering why it didn't have a flame. It is for the specific scene in the movie, opening scene of raiders when he sticks a torch to the hidden floor plate trap tile and a poison dart shoots out of the wall. And that's what the little darts are for also they actually stick into the torch.
The torch wasn’t supposed to come with fire. It’s for the arrows. THIS FIG IS INCREDIBLE. To ask for perfection in toys is to ask perfection in one’s self. It’s IMPOSSIBLE. This fig doubled in price just like every Mez master piece. Also, Hasbro does have a sand bag that came with the version with the idol stand. Enjoy your toys you sound depressed. 😂
@@jamescruz6829 I do like the figure, a lot. I don't know about "incredible" though. 9/10? Also the torch could have came with a little flame effect prices that's not a big ask.
@Toygains in the scene in the movie it doesn't have a flame. Its the log he picks up to test the trap in the idol room. Hence why you can insert a dart into it. So to give it a flame would not be screen accurate.
Great comparisons on these Gains! I like Indiana Jones but not enough to get the figs (except for the old knight from the last crusade movie)so I'm safe for now 😂
For the price point, I love the adventure series. But it doesn’t have mass appeal. Where they lost collectors was not releasing key characters…German mechanic, German troopers, Egyptian characters….they lost everyone.
Come on Gains!! I have never heard you trying to convince yourself to like a figure, like with that Hasbro Indi. Started to sound like a vegan explaining why they are vegan. If the Hasbro one was taller maybe will meet the mark. Mezco looks good but you have to be a fan to pay that price. Good comparison you havent done that in a while and your cut aways are always the best. 🍻🍺
@@irvingdomenech4187lol! Good analogy. I think having the Hasbro next to a better one was tough to like it. But honestly I don't hate it. And thanks man. I try to splice in fun shit when I can.
Those bloody Mezco stands are my nemesis.. I use them on my 1/6 figures, and the Mezco figures are good enough to stand alone. I think both are good ,but neither compare..detail vs. toy line Action toy..
Great review. I can’t believe the true scale. But I like him better than the mezco. Idk. I really want a great Indy but I haven’t seen one that makes me say. Oh yeah that it
I am yet to receive mine as I am outside of US. Overall looks good the likeness I am still 50/50 for the price-point. I would have loved the smiling portrait from the box art as one of the head. Hmm...now when you say it...I think the neck is short or the clothing make it less visible. I have never understood why they keep using polystone...that's just a gimmick...they could do the same with nice quality plastic, it just adds weight to the logistics. I understand you comment about the size of Hasbro figures...but making it correct to scale is the right thing. Making things bigger and then advertising it as 1:12 is actually false advertising. Also the cartoon/animated/comic characters are taller because there are not actual height references to those characters...so they are made taller to fit with older MLs.
The Hasbro one did come with the sandbag. Honestly, there’s too many issues with the Mezco for me to say it’s the best one. I can build a custom Hasbro one, that’s absolutely perfect and the price is still well under $130.
@ yeah I think you’re right. The Figuarts came with the bag and then I bought a lot of loose figures from FB marketplace and I think that’s where I got the Hasbro bag. But the original Hasbro one did come with a bunch of hand options.
Man idk ……Hasbro one …..just ok for the price…..and the Mezco looks good….but not 100$ good…..I got neither I ant an Indy and I thought about the shf one…..but jerk changed my mind on that lol 😅
Gotta say I'm not impressed by either figure in the slightest. Mezco at least tried to deck theirs out with accessories but their sculpt/proportions and softgoods are unacceptable for the price. I'll stick with Hot Toys for my definitive Indy. PS -- Toht is pronounced "toat".
My verdict, on both: SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I wouldn't waste my money on either figures. These companies can do better. Sculpts still not quite there, shoddy paint work....RIP OFF!
