Nice work Matt - the mug on that Tusky reminded me of a donkey- “Where every angle is a postcard’s view” - unreal tropical beauty… thank u all for sharing the adventure. 🎣🤙🏼
Share this channel ppl. it is unbelievable he only got 82.3K Subs. the content Matt brings worth a Subs count at least 10 fold, also make sure we liking it, and not only viewing getting amazed and forgetting to like.
As a non-fishing, historical aside, the Cocos Islands are the site of the Royal Australian Navy’s first ever victory in 1914, when HMAS Sydney defeated SMS Emden. Emden’s wreck is still visible on the reef at North Keeling Island after her captain ran her aground at the end of the engagement. Love your channel!! : )
Awesome video. I don’t mean to offend, and yes I am quite jealous as many people would, how does Matt afford two killer boats, the best fishing gear, travel on epic adventures, and have the time to do all this fishing, all with a young family. Just what to know what I have to do to work towards this sort of kick arse lifestyle.
it would actually be an amazing video but basically chase a dream career that didn't exist at the time whilst trying to convince sponsors to trust in you after they've been burned many times. work your ass off, gain there trust and earn enough money to keep your head about water. then work even harder again to gain a RUclips following to earn a little more money until it all just starts to come together. Most important part of it all, have a partner who is willing to have nothing and still be happy to support what you're doing and having nothing but faith and confidence in your dreams. I'd never be in this position with out Jess.
@@PelagicPursuit89 thanks for the details, awesome work mate, this sort of story makes you even more relatable and watchable. Hats off to your partner for all the support.
I have only seen one large one once , in a reserve, Praslin, Seychelles. And strangely enough i was dreaming about them last night, I was watching them feeding.
Epic session matty. Hope you got the chance to swim and dive the rip between home and Direction island. Those doggies do get pretty big there as do the wrasses which I hope you also got a hook into. Love your work mate
Dude has some molars; reckon you need ‘em when you break rocks to eat. Awesome catch my man! PS- you’re making the bone fishing look easy. When a great fishery and a passionate/skilled fisherman collide 👏
Matty what weight gear are you throwing for each scenario? I’m using an 8wt around Brissy and Moreton bay and want heavier gear but not sure to go 10 or 11wt 🤔 cheers
Maté Napoleon fish are everywhere on the reef right at your from door. Try Walden Reef on the flats on the first of the making tide. Seen dozens of them there, like marine cattle grazing. Many over 100 kg
So is it more about how difficult it is to get to the place these fish live, or the size / fight of them? Cos it looked like you just were casting into schools of them and fighting them in.. maybe just a box thats hard to tick cos of where they live?? 🤔
Never seen a video with one being landed where you can see the fly in its mouth. They floss em in the seychelles. And this hookup + the way the rod moves is a little suspicious
Congrats mate, wicked looking fish!!
These things are definitely on the bucket list!! Epic boys well done
well go get it done Bretto

How you don’t have 10 times as many subscribers as some far inferior channels have is beyond me…
Spectacular!

Congrats, Matt. Great fishing.
Nice! I've seen 100's if not 1000's of those Bump Head Parrotfish over 10 years working in the dive industry out of Cairns but I've never caught them.
yeah we've got the same here in Airlie but impossible to target unless youre happy to break and walk on coral
Crazy fish, congrats bud
Wow, truly epic 👏
Bones and Bumpy’s, does it get any better!!?
Dude has some molars; reckon you need ‘em when you break rocks to eat. Awesome catch my man!
PS- you’re making the bone fishing look easy. When a great fishery and a passionate/skilled fisherman collide 👏

can you make a vid on all your rod setups and what your un on certain fish
Amazing video!

Wicked content again. Quick question. What software do you use to edit? Are you using go pros?

hey mate. definitly not a Napoleon wrasse
what a beauty
Do you know any winter fishing charters in Adelaide
The scales on the bumpy's look like armor
their a wild looking creature
So is it more about how difficult it is to get to the place these fish live, or the size / fight of them? Cos it looked like you just were casting into schools of them and fighting them in.. maybe just a box thats hard to tick cos of where they live?? 🤔
Great fish, congrats! But to be honest I felt a bit unfomfortable how long you handled that fish…
as in hte preadtor movies - that is "one ugly MFQ!" of a fish but man i want to catch one on fly
Wow what fly pattern crab musel snale what do they eat ojster?
only the cocos boys know that one haha now me but its not my place to tell
👍💯
Very nice Napoleon …!
This has to be Cocos Keeling?
yeah mate. with hello backing
Is this the first on video? I thought there was some discussion that previous photos were faked because so many claim they "won't take a fly"?
I think there has been a hand full of videos in regards bumpies.
Never seen a video with one being landed where you can see the fly in its mouth. They floss em in the seychelles. And this hookup + the way the rod moves is a little suspicious
When the GT on fly Matty ? 😈🤘❤
possibly tomorrow haha tides and wind are perfect
