I didn’t know chicks could be that young with the flock. Awesome video!

Thanks for watching Destination Fun!
Great video, very informative. 👍🏻 I’m 1 year into this - I have 5 adult hens and will pick up 4 chicks at the end of this month. I like the concept of letting them see each other before direct contact. Thank you! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching Joan! Yea it’s best to leave chicks caged up around flock for a week or so.
Great video I'm going to try tomorrow they all live together in the coop but in a broader my chicks are 5 weeks wish me luck😅
@@erniecamarena4127 good luck! 🐓
Amazing channel
Thanks for watching!
Yes this looks lovely but it also looks like ya free range them all is that true cause when they are inside coop and run always here it doesn't seem to be that simple tho I put my chick house close to the older ones I'm gonna put them in it worked well last year but the older ones was white and the roo os a gentle giant compared to the other 2 barnyard mix..it went well now this year got 23 chick's 12 weeks old and only 2 older ones and a roo is where they will go...wish me luck

Make sure to get the right breed. I accidently got one high producer egg laying chicken she died at 3 years old since they are breed to produce too many eggs and it costs them in life expectancy. I looked for hardy longer living egg layers which moderate egg production since its only for me. I was overflowing anyways with eggs so I rather have em slow and steady.
I don’t mix until about 4m old, i have some very aggressive hens when it comes introducing new hens. We don’t have roosters with the hens.
We have aggressive hens also(top of the chain) and there will be some pecking going on but never anything too serious. Thanks for watching plurmingo1.
Yeah, our head honcho doesn’t get involved in that, it’s mostly the ones lower on the totem pole that do all the aggressive battery on the new hands. I know it’s the pecking order but by the time they’re done three days, the new hens are bald. So I’ve built a wood divider that only the smaller hens can get through to get away from the bigger hens.
That’s interesting. In all our years of raising chickens, we’ve never had that happen. Good idea with divider.
Invest a bit in the setup to protect them from predators cause this is the biggest problem! Predators canndecimate your chickens quickly!
This is our setup we’ve used for 3 years. It works for us without any problems. Thanks for watching.
You get pay for that
Thanks for watching Buck.
