Many of the men on both sides of my family have served in the military, in every branch except the Coast Guard, mostly the Army and Navy. Only once has a family member actually been in a war, in recent years at least. Still, I grew up on war documentaries and movies like this, and I was instilled with a great respect for those who have sacrificed limb and life. Most recently, a younger cousin served in the East China Sea, and I blessed the day he came home safe. For those who have served and are currently serving in the most dangerous parts of this world, you have my deepest respect and hope for your safe return to those you love. May God bless you and thank you for your service.

My cousin was in Vietnam. In recent years, as his health has started to fail, he has started to talk about his experiences with others, with the family, and I think he has been the better for it. Before, we didn't ask him to talk, even the younger ones, because we didn't want to bring up bad memories, and the little information he did offer was horrible enough, the still-haunted look in his eyes... He said that every night, you didn't know if you'd wake up in the morning, and then you did, only to find out that another of your friends didn't; he said that was the hardest part, the survivor's guilt, even after so many years. Only those who have experienced what he and others have can ever truly understand it, I think, especially the sacrifice that comes with being awarded such an honor. Your father has my deepest respect. May he rest in peace.

About 36 minutes in, the chant is so similar to "Chong Lee, Chong Lee" in Bloodsport, it has to be a deliberate tribute. Also, Scott is such a terrific action star and martial artist. He obvious trains and works so hard and stays in phenomenal shape. And he can actually act, if you watch some of his more dramatic films. It's a pity that he hasn't become a lot more famous and embraced by major productions.

The martial arts movements are outstanding. The idea of the main lead wearing a glowing white t-shirt to pull hide and evade movements is out of character. But, thank you for the movie. Sooo many allied soldiers were killed while prisoners during WWII. It's amazing that ANY of them made it out.

Honor πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ This movie knows nothing about honor. And the fact that you think so is why people have no real amd honest honor anymore. I watched 20 minutes of this movie and all it showed was horrible acting and that people should have real jobs like being doctors or carpenters or maybe even be a real soldier, rather than play a fake one with no real honor on a dumb ass movie. Movie was a waste of movie and that movie could have honored real people by donating it to real causes.
