Such a clean roof without any vent 😂
That’s Texas for ya! One week we are freezing snd the next we’re close to 90! So proud of where you started to where you are now. This is super…an RV Park! We’re coming!!!
Awesome! Stay tuned for updates on the process. Thanks for watching.
Nice roof can’t wait to see videos on the RV park. I hope there’s a lot of details with the plumbing/sewer and electrical
You needed the Closure Strips under the end of the bottom panels. Bugs can get in!
April should be a WR for the Cowboys..... see how she catches without even looking???💙
April you did not wave at the end, thats the best part that keeps you connected to your viewers.😊.... thank you.... 👋
Great job April and your best buddies. The roof looks great. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
That was impressive in its ease of installation.
It is crazy easy compared to regular roofing. Thanks for watching.
Used to install that yrs ago. Used to have a lifetime warranty that would transfer once.
It's light, easy to work with. It's flimsy, but since you're installing over a good decking plate, you'll be surprised how long it will last. I have roofs that are over 20 yrs old that are still holding up well. Nailing it, especially in the heat, direct sunlight does have a learning curve as to not crush material.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and for watching.
Once it is on your roof, is it durable to walk on? I live in an area when it might snow 4 feet on the roof and sometimes I have to go up and remove it.
Mulher forte e admiravel ...exemplo pra muitos homens que nao servem nem pra trocar uma lampada em casa...
Nicely done April! 😃👍🏼👊🏼
Thank you!!
The roof looks great April! Very nice job! The RV Park is a great idea. Hope it goes well. Thanks for sharing this roofing project. Keep on building!
Thanks so much!
Great job you guys! The roof looks awesome and seemingly came together in no time at all. April you look awesome rocking the Boonie hat🤙🏾💯❤
Thanks!
You don't mention it in the video, but is there some way to block the bottom of the corrugations? It seems like a great place for wasps (ore even rodents) to build nests.
If you buy your metal from a big box store (and most of the suppliers) they come with what are called 'closure strips' - they've got sticky tape on one side and they go on first. I've not watched the video yet to see if she did that. Some people would rather have the air circulating underneath....depends on the application/use. HOpe that helps.
Also at the top to stop wind blowing water in the troughs up and under the ridge line cap.
1:09 nice catch, April! (but also, props to Jacob for a good throw)
Awesome video. Great drone shots. I will have a roof job coming up with two valleys. Will check your videos to see if you cover valleys as well. Congratulations on 1.5M subs. You do such a great job on your videos.
Hello from Santa Ana California ❤🌹
Hello from Texas!
Nice 👍...how do you work around chimneys and vent pipes?
Pipe boots for metal roofs, and flashing and sealing bitumen for chimneys. This product is meant for sheds, gazebos, chicken coops, barns and dog houses. This company makes products for residential, installs more like tile roofs...check it out at Lowes.
Another Great Video Ms April 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!
RV PARK PROJECT?! YESSS
Very exciting indeed! Stay tuned as things progress. Thanks for watching.
Nice work on the roof April! Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖👍😎JP
Thanks for watching. Appreciate your support.
@@AprilWilkerson Your very welcome April! Have a wonderful week!😎
O telhado ficou maravilhoso...perfeito
My home has a high ceiling and no insulation. I really need a project like this with additional insulation over the area that isn't insulated. The interior temp goes over 100 F and the AC works full time to keep the temp down.
What about ice shield in the Northern part of USA affected by Great Lakes affected winds and blowing sleet and freezing rain.
That's awesome! Looks great and goes down easy. BTW, I know Yonder. If you cross the Saline River, it's "Yondas". haha.
Awesome Roofing Job! Good Luck with your RV Park April! How many sites will your park have for campers? 😃
Thanks! We're still working on well permits, etc and that determines how many sites. Such an exciting time! Stay tuned for more updates. Thanks for your support.
No filler strip under the eve edge!? Bats will love those spaces to hide in.
Nice! And very exciting RV park idea!
It really is! Stay tuned for more updates on progress. Thanks for watching.
You obviously do not have a fear of heights but please use a safety harness the next time you work on a roof. It only takes one fall to cause serious injury. Be safe April.
From having looked at reviews, I guess it just depends on whether or not you want a 30+ year roof (metal/shingle) or a 10 year roof (this stuff).
No shingle is lasting 30 years. Roofing companies say 30 year warranty because they aren't even gonna be around in 30 years.
I can testify IF installed correctly, it will outlast shingle. I know, I've installed it. I'll take Ondura over Owen's or any of the rest. Lighter per square foot. Better ventilation than metal.
@@irishhandyman2009 Thanks for the pro advice! Always good to hear from people with actual experience.
the panels fall apart in the store
how are they going to last on a roof?
Respectfully: I own a house that had an Ondura roof. It lasted less than 10 years, horrible leaking and cracking. Unlike a normal roof, it requires repainting every few years to maintain the warranty. Do your research... Installation is easy... Ownership is not.
I've never had a problem myself and have used it for years and there are other comments saying they never had a problem either and love it. Thanks for watching.
Cool you can walk on it . Seems the screes may cause a leak ? Good Job !
you are an inspirational girl...
Thanks! Glad you find my channel useful. Thanks for watching.
Yeah it's easy when you do it on a 25 degree angle roof with 3 people. I covered a 45 degree angle roof with those roughly the same size by myself. It wasn't fun lemme tell you.
Thanks for sharing it's good to get that extra information
So is the Onduline roofing okay to walk on? It looks like you guys tried to stay off it til the very end. It's looks flexible so if you step on it will it collapse?
Looks nice! but I have to mention that going with a product that is darker in color and doubles the exposed roof area because of the corrigation, will increase the amount of solar gain/heat on the building, making it harder on existing HVAC systems and utility costs. Yes, luckily in this application it's on a garage, but i would definitely have second thoughts about using a product like this on a home.
Doesn't double the exposed roof area for solar gain. If you look at it from the sun's perspective (imagine in the sky, 100 yards away), same sun-gaining area no matter the shape. Any increase in area due to the shape is offset by the sunlight being spread out.
@gregbell2117 the corrigation easily doubles the surface area, if you were able to flatten those sheats they would double in width. More area = larger roof = more light/heat absorption, especially when the sun is above. She even said is was too hot to lean on while installing it.
@@ronlovell5374 that double surface area has the same amount of sun shining on it - one roof's worth.
Can these panels be used for low-slope roofs?
That material will leak. It is brittle and will crack and deform at nail piercings as well as from any impact.
I'm sorry. But I used this same roofing. It doesn't hold up well over time.
Yes. I had this type of roof on my garage but only last 5 years.
Agreed, this stuff does not hold up. Very easy to damage.
jamesbuchana2840 I was wondering about that. Like how would it hold up against a hail storm.?
I've had it on several buildings for years now and never had a problem. Thanks for watching.
You only did this because of the sponsorship? That roof was in great shape.
No, it actually wasn't. We've had several hail storms. Looking good from a distance is one thing. Thanks for watching.
In your opinion April, what are the advantages of these roofing panels over steel panels? I have a large roof to replace next year that’s why I’m asking. 🤷🏻♂️😃
Maravilha top dás galáxia 😮😮
In Dallas, you don't have to do a tear off if there's only one roof surface. If this is a third roof, you would have to be tear off to meet insurance requirements. This was memorable for me, when I did my own roof on a 1919 built house that had five roofs on it when I got to it: two asphalt shingle, two wood shingle, and a rolled roof material to get to the solid plank roofing. The city dump got tired of seeing me. And it went on so long the airgun for nailing them down was offered to me for free at the end of the rental. So five hours sounds great
It looks great. How is it to walk on is it slippery? Once again very informative and awesome video thank you.👍
How does this product compare in price to other conventional roof products i.e. 3 tab, metal etc. How long is it's life? It looks great.
I'm considering installing these on my shed but have a concern. I live north of Montreal and yes we get quite a bit of snow in the winter so will the product hold up to the snow that will be sitting on it for several months without crushing. Any other concerns I should have ?
Great job and thanks for the inspiration. Was reading installation instructions and they say not to stand on the corrugations. You did. Did you notice any damage?
I did not but some people way a lot more though and it's a good general idea to tell people not to stand on it. Thanks for watching.
It would be nice to line up the panels and screw into the rafters. How long before the gaskets dry out?
I've used this roofing on now 5 roofs and have never had a problem thus far. Thanks for watching.
What makes houses hot it the blistering hot sun beating down on the roof & heating the attic, if there is one.
WHAT IF, there was an air space? the roof underlayment would be in place like normal, then, the actual roof
would be suspended a couple of inches above this underlayment-open on all sides so natural breezes could
flow betwix this floating roof & the underlayment purging all the hot air?
!
Looks good. I went to their web site and tried to ask a question. The email was returned. 😢
Good morning, April! Look at you, opening an RV Park! God bless you, Girl! What DON'T you do?! Oh, what a good move NOT stripping that roof. That is a MISERABLE job, ESPECIALLY in the heat. Re-roofed my garage in January! I'm in CT! JANUARY! It was warm enough to start melting the tar. I think I made my mind up then, that my next roof WON'T be shingles! I am burnt out on laying down shingles. That roof came out beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a GREAT week! God bless.
Thanks! Yes, for me this was definitely the right decision. Thanks for watching.
How is this stuff for snow, as in sliding off in a massive slide like metal roofs do. I want to just redo my garden shed with a 20 year old asphalt roof, and like the idea of this stuff over metal. Ill be ripping off my shingles because, well its an 8x10 shed, so it wont take any time at all
Looks good but just wondering why? Shingles looked fine to begin with.
We had several hail storms over the past few months and from a distance it looked great but had hail damage. Thanks for watching.
Thanks a ton. I need a new roof, and am a DIY type. It is a daunting task to rip off shingles and re-roof, or hire some yahoos to do it for $$$. This may be my answer.
Great! I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
How can you wear those knee pads in shorts? I've got the same ones, and they tear my legs up if I don't wear jeans! 😮
Hmm. I've never had a problem. Thanks for watching.
Was this product tested in snow? Generally 12-18" of lake effect with ice buildup a given.
put in solar and EV charging with power wall
can ondura be used for a non-potable rain water collection system?
Interesting.🙂🙂
Can this be installed over architecturel shingles or just the flat tab style?
I liked the hat
Damn, RUclips unsubscribed me. Nice roof, btw.
Why cutti g corners instead of doing it properly? In 5y you are going to put another layer on top of that?
thats hot
what was wrong with the roofing you covered ? it looked in good shape ?
We've had several hail storms and there was damage. Looks from afar are deceiving compared to Inspector finds. Thanks for watching.
No pricing on their website, either. 🤠
Price??!!
Price is subjective to locality, items on sale and amount needed. Thanks for watching.
Would this roofing work well on a home?
This product is meant for outbuildings, sheds, gazebos, covered corals, chicken coops and dog houses.
Дожили... Ондулин в США продвигают😮
What do you do if you have a ridge vent?
Not this type of roofing
You generally need 13 chainsaws in order to find one that works. 😊
Great job !!! But here in my city, Sorocaba, in Brazil, we are at 100°F!!! Without a cloud!!! :-( Impossible to climb on roofs for a while!!! Cheers April...
what --- no roof fan ? ...
👍
Missing pieces of this video.....
1 - Cost of this product versus a regular asphalt re-roof.
2 - Hurricane rating (I live in Florida).
3 - Overlaying existing roofing is problematic if there's any damage hiding in the existing roof that should be repaired.
Short of those items, its an interesting product.
People have to do their own research for their area and personal situation. Prices are subjective and if there is problems with existing roof, of course that would be dealt with beforehand. Thanks for watching.
Why go over a good roof ?
We had several Hail Storms and sadly there was damage. From a distance all looks good. Thanks for watching.
Its not like in germany
Just hope you never have to walk on it.
I dont know why ppl do this. It adds more weight to the roof. Also you have no clue of anything is bad underneath the shingles. All this does is cover a problem. Also you should trim that tree off the roof for starters. I have seen so many rotten roofs because ppl fail to realize that trees will kill your roof
Of course any rotted issues on existing roof would be dealt with beforehand. It would be silly to cover up problems. People do lay-over roofs all the time but all issues resolved first. Thanks for watching.
@@AprilWilkerson okay so tell me how you are going to see if anything is rotten underneath without taking the shingles off?? Your garage may be open underneath to see I understand that much. But some houses you can not tell. Yes I know ppl do lay over roofs all the time and when I have a customer ask me that I say I will not do that and 90% of the time they listen to me and take the shingles off. Also why did you not put any foam bubble wrap on first at least?
I do enjoy you vids but sometimes your info is off. You can usually do a secondary layer of shingles in most areas. Depending on codes.. but your previous one on hvac was off because you have to pump down the old system in most areas because of environmental regs.
She did mention it, that's why she didn't get blasted with refrigerant when cutting the pipes.
👍✌️👏👌💯❤️
The roof looks fine why are you putting this stuff on…. Just for content?
The best time to fix something is before it needs fixing, that's what preventative maintenance is all about, or do you wait till it leaks and ruins your interior as well?
She clearly stated she’s doing an RV park. She’ll have a theme and all the buildings will likely need to match. Seems like a “duh” question
She did say that the shingles were damaged. "Looks fine on camera" and "actually is fine" are not the same thing. That's why you get an inspection when buying a house.
How does this work under 12-18" of snow with ice buildup?
@@johnnemery545 in Texas?
Well, I guess if you ever want to take those off the roof you're going to have to replace all the shingles that used to be perfectly good. Since you have now put hundreds of holes into them.
@wojtek-33 it makes sense if the shingles are completely trashed and need to be replaced, but that roof had perfectly good shingles that were probably only a few years old if that. It was a video solely for product placement and content nothing else.
You are wrong. We've had several hail storms and there was damage. Looks from afar are quite different than Inspector exams. Thanks for watching.
☀🔟🍀😘💎 🇸🇰
Don't use it, it melts
pure garbage
When I watched your videos, I was quite impressed with them. In this video where you were on the roof, you had NO Fall Protection! for each person.
We are each quite comfortable with the height and have this many times. If you notice most roofers, they are too. If someone isn't comfortable doing this type of job then certainly they should hire a crew. Thanks for watching.
No April wave at the end? This channel has gone down hill. ☹
Já usei dessa telha. Não durou nem 8 anos. Ressecou e começou a dar vazamentos. Tive que trocar tudo ! Prejuízo de 100 metros quadrados. Boa tarde. Abraços.
Falando de São Paulo Brasil. 🇧🇷 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏👏👏🤘👊
Nice video. Love the teamwork. Look forward to more on the RV park
Thanks! Yes, exciting times! Stay tuned for more updates as things progress. Thanks for watching.
Honestly, not really liking this product. There is a huge number of exposed fasteners and that inherent flex in the product makes me concerned for long term expansion and contraction. Hopefully it works out, but not something for me
To each their own. I've used it for several roofs for years now and never had a problem. Thanks for watching.
Guess they do not sell this in the USA anymore? The link you provided goes to a possible scam site. Searching online I see no where to buy it. I remember Lowes had something like this before.
I just Googled Ondura Roofing and find lots of sites. Thanks for watching.
@@AprilWilkerson Your welcome. Yes I see lots of results also just not in the USA.
13 chainsaws is not that many. Get more!
Right? I think I need more. :)
Can the Ondura incorporate gutters as well, if desired?
A girl can never have too many power tools.😇😇
Uh no, I don’t know Jacob.
He has been an Employee for many years now and is in many of my videos. Most regular Viewers recognize him and know who he is. Thanks for watching.
Awesome material, we covered our barn about 30 years ago with Ondura. Still looks great. Wishing you and your family a blessed holiday season. Peace April
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and for watching.
Do you live in an area that snows? I am wondering how durable this material is freezing and then thawing.
@@americanpancakelive We live about 5 miles south of the Great Swamp Erie in NE Ohio, in what is known as the snow bell. At the moment we are in the midst of our first winter storm with 6”-8” inches of snow on freezing rain. Barn interior is dry and cozy.
Why not full length sheets, you will always get corrosion between the horizontal overlaps. Maybe this only happens here in Australia.
they don't make it that long. asphalt infused product won't corrode. It's not metal.
So nice having those low pitch roofs down there in the south. Here in Ohio, pitch is almost 45degrees on my roof.
Ah yes, having no snow definitely makes the difference. Thanks for watching.
i was wondering about the vent cap but I saw it at the end - am interested in your RV park!
Yes! Stay tuned for more RV Park updates. It's quite the process but will update when I can. Thanks for watching.
