*I've solved the issue, it took me ages and even opened up my mini tower. The solution is so simple, go to the unknown device, right click/properties/details tab/ scroll to hardware ID. Then highlight one of the rows and copy its info and google for the manufactures name, go to their site then download there usb controllers PROBLEM SOLVED*
This does nothing but hide the missing driver message (which is bad). If you have this issue, it's probably just a missing driver for your usb3 port. Go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and download the usb drivers and install.

I was skeptical at first too. But forcing windows to reinstall those drivers in this way actually helped get my Attack3 joystick to work after fruitless hours of troubleshooting.

ty this works if followed correctly, Id be willing to bet most here that were not successful failed at following his steps, took me a moment to realize he was going into the bottom option twice after right clicking the faulty device and clicking the update option, once you get into those driver files, your basically manually reinstalling each one and the last step is simply using generic unknown device driver,,so simple its brilliant,,probably should slowed down a bit and dropped that music but it does exactly what was claimed.
those who are here for mtp fix....just update the needful driver for example the exclamatory drive and do it manually as he does...sadly you will have to fix each and every time you connect a new device on your computer

Lol windows will take you to your driver file locaton if you follow the video, not following directions well thats on you, this works exactly as shown if you do however you really need to pay close attention on wich option you use and follow it to the letter,,ignore his directory and just let windows take you to the driver files by selecting the bottom choices twice after right clicking update for each problem driver and you will see the options as shown unless you have the sm bus issue as well in wich case intel has that fix.

So you need a magic directory called "D:\Serial Driver" on your system.

A way to fix if this doesn't work:
Get the right drivers.
Easydriver makes it 'easy' if you don't know what drivers to download.
