I believe the redundant gear loop on the outside of the pocket is for lashing shock cord across the front pocket. Then you can hang things to dry while you hike. Great video helpful
Glad you found the video helpful , you are right about the gear loop. I should've added the shock cord before I made the video then it would've been clear to me and anyone watching exactly what the loops are for.
There's also a loop on the other side of the pocket so you can run a strap across the pocket if you wish,also the loops are at the top ,mid,and bottom so you can strap large items to the pack. It's always good to have options ! ✌🏼

I'm 5'8" I ordered the 70 liter pack with the 30 in hip belt. It adjust from 30-34 inches

Nope. I will be making myself one for a trip this fall but it won't have the volume or weight capacity that this pack does
