Dustin I had to send the X8 back as it can only transmit video with terrible lag...Dealing with Gearbest was a nightmare so I had to get PayPal involved, case pending..Buyers beware..I'm an experienced pilot own several drones including the Inspire 2...Like your reviews, always professional without silly music..
I'm still impressed with this "just" 1080p camera. Landscape looks great. I think you really need to make comparation video with Zino 4k. I hope you will test this camera also at low light conditions. At bright light this camera shine. Also all other functions works great. Xiaomi made 2 great drones with FIMI A3 and X8 SE. (Y)

One of 2 batteries I have for this all is a sudden died. No matter what I got 3 min out of it. I made sure it was balanced and never dropped too low on voltage. I noticed the date on it was 2016! I don't know which one came with the drone. The other one is Jan 2019, same as the date on the drone. I took the old case and soldered wires to it and strapped my 2200 3s on it and got about 18min. Chapter than buying another battery that is hv for 40 bucks.

Would like to see a test using FPV goggles and an external monitor plugged into the controller. It’s supposed to be able to do either. External monitor is supposed to have all the flight info on screen where as the FPV goggles will not.
Sometimes maybe it pays to wait. Earlier reviews of the a3 had some problems. You must have a newer version because you didn’t appear to have any of the problems reported by other youtubers. For instance The camera looked good (no blur at the edges), a little blue but could be fixed in post, and the motors didn’t have the whine others reported. Great review series 🤙
In case you didn't know this....many (if not most) issues can be addressed in firmware...so even if you purchased one of the first A3 drones it would be performing like Dustin's because you'd simply apply the firmware fixes as they release them. I doubt they've changed anything with the hardware.
Nice thorough review (over several videos) of this drone. I'd really be interested in seeing how well video from this drone can be tweaked for better contrast and color. Do you have any controls over exposure?

I'm grabbing one of these for my "higher risk" flights, so I don't kill my X8SE 2020 -thing needs a shorter name for 2021😜 Question: Does the bit of static we see on the controller DVR show on the analog display when flying, and if so is it distracting or bothersome?
I was a little rushed since battery was dying 😅. Basically, once you activate fixed wing it stays at the speed you choose unless you pull back on right stick. Rolling left and right creates banked turns and gimbal horizon seems to tilt with the turn.

@@stanlaus3883 ouh no, I fliew it with selfmade reflector dishes like Dustin uses in his videos. And I think to made two little refletor dishes for the both back legs of the drone, then I can fly it a bit further.. :-)
@@stanlaus3883 Zino has a better camera, but it is a problematic flyer. FIMI A3 is better flyer, but it has a weak camera, and his issues too. Take FIMI X8, or used DJI Spark Combo set on ebay, if you dont want spend more money.
(3 Fimi a3 questions ?) my 1st drone, complete dummy please help! I was thinking about buying a SkyRC B6 AC V2 balance charger along with a parallel charging board to charge 3 batteries at once. Because of the proprietary batteries with only balance female @ both ends charging cables = no main red & black 2nd & 3rd cables how should I connect to charge it? Is there no advantage between this & just buying Fimi a3 $6 one to 3 balance lead cable BG sells for charging 3 batteries at same time? Q 1) is there a advantage of a true balance charge? Q 2) would it change more quickly? Q 3) Would I be able to get a longer flight time?

Hey Dustin, I noticed on one of your reviews for the fimi A3 the horizon was at an angle. I am having this issue as well. when I yaw the horizon angles. I've updated it & calibrated camera gimbal. Any suggestions please?

Because it's not. Anyone who knows what 5.8ghz analog FPV is knows what to expect . It's hard to see in direct sunlight like most cheap screens and you can adjust brightness in the settings.

It look better than a Spark, except for range. But we can't use that anymore anyway🙈
