    Quality of filming looked great, Olli! Nice content you filmed, as well. it's inspiring to see such fine practitioners - failed breaks and all. Thank you!

      Thank you, sir. I'm happy to be back in making TKD videos with my new gadgets. Hopefully, I can be in the future competitions with my camera :)

    Those metal holders are ridiculous. Your form would have to be scary accurate to avoid smashing your foot on the metal.

    Excellent job!! However, the board metal holder seems dangerous. What if someone miskick with bare foot or hands on metal frame?
    They should come up with other design. Some probably cannot concentrate braking the boards bcoz of this.

      Jung Sean Metal holers might look dangerous. However, I ’ve seen probably thousands of kcks without any injuries due to the metal holders. Some even hitting the holders. After all, if you are not able to penetrate the plastic boards the reaction force is basically the same as if you hit the metal. Much more probable cause of injury is due to wrong position of ankle. I’ve experienced it myself, resulting in badly twisted ankle.

    Very unforgiving board holders.
    They probably said, 'Right we need board holders and we need them to last and be robust.
    We'll make them out of metal !!!
    What about skinning you ankles as you strike the boards?
    Oh, it'll be okay....
    Okay'

      Those holders work just fine for breaking purposes. I haven't seen injuries caused by hitting on them. Obviously, some accuracy is needed in order not to hit metal instead of boards. And the boards, they are pretttty hard as well :)

      Exactly why Board Brother is made of wood and has some "give". It's designed to somewhat simulate the shock absorbing nature of the human body.

      Have you seen the Gorilla board holder - it's plastic, f***ing brilliant, bit expensive though - i made my own out of wood, it's not difficult...

    Is this power breaking or just breaking? I’ve seen 3-4 board breaks at regular tournaments from gups. Heck, my 12 year old daughter broke 2 boards with an elbow strike at 11 years old.

    • @matkocmilansky5397
      @matkocmilansky5397 4 года назад +1

      Well elbow strike is the easiest one for power breaking i think. And its quite possible the tournaments you went to use different boards than those in this vid

    If you slipped with a punch or kick to those metal board holders you might have to have a foot or hand amputated.

    • @OlliLeino_sportstuff
      @OlliLeino_sportstuff  7 лет назад +1

      Not really... :) I haven''t seen anybody ever hitting the holder and got injured because of that. The peak force decreases very rapidly after the targetted point of impact. So, if the holders are 50 cm away from the surface of the boards, the risk of getting serious injuries hitting the holders is very low.
      Obviously, you must have some motor skills and the athletes in the video already know how to do power breaking. Beginners should first do target practise with less boards or with soft targets.

      i love you all my beloved non believing brothers and sisters including Jehovah's Witnesses,christians, hindus, Buddhists and etc :( i love you all from the bottom of my heart because once i too use reject the existence of God and instead, i use to worship senseless dumb idols and holy men(messengers who were sent by the one and only almighty God!!) :( but after deep studies and investigations done on comparative religions that are being followed all around the world from the beginning !! i excepted the universal truth and submitted my wills to one and only God that has been prophesied by all the messengers of God(ALLAAH in arabic and Eloh in hebrew ) most unfortunately christians are made to believe by the church that the man whom they considered as an essence of God(trinity) , died helplessly on a cross like a stray dog which is totally wrong and it even goes against the true teachings of the bible and this false belief troubled me a lot for years !!our beloved jesus is only a great messenger of ALLAAH like all the other prophets who lived before jesus and after jesus and similarly messenger Jonah (Arabic: يُونُس‎, romanized: Yūnus) is the title of the tenth chapter of the Quran. He is traditionally viewed as highly important in Islam as a prophet who was faithful to Allah and delivered His messages. Jonah is only one of the Twelve Minor Prophets to be mentioned by name in the Quran and these pure men(prophets) never claimed divinity rather they delivered the message of monotheism that is worship one and only God and none other !!! please wake up my beloved brothers and sisters :( before its too late its crystal clearly mentioned in the gospels as well !! please wake up my beloved brothers and sisters its time to realize our betrayal to the creator who created each and every human kind including jesus out of nothing !!!!!! so believe in one and only God(ALLAH in arabic)before its too late !! i am saying all these things for i love you my christian brothers and sisters and i am not going to get any thing from you people rather i accept great rewards from my creator for clarifying the misconception out of your minds thus opening all the closed minds to the path of truth "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish." @taekwondo wt taekwondo itf after this response, it has come to light that the english language may not be your native language and you might be using a internet translator. you seem to repeat the first inital sentence a couple of times in different words, and then at the bottom of your comments, they contradict the previous words. but again i think thats more down to you not know what to say and the translator not allowing your words to come across correctly

    Those holding machines are stupid and dangerous.

    • @OlliLeino_sportstuff
      @OlliLeino_sportstuff  7 лет назад +2

      In my opinion, the biggest problem with the holders usually is that they are too light and they give in. Especially when breaking with side kick. You can see the machine getting airborne in some of the side kicks of this video. Of course, it is also an indication of a pushing kick, not penetrating kick.

      I would not use wooden boards in breaking competition because the quality varies so much. I am actually planning on conducting a research project on how much plastic boards lose their strength after successful breaks.

    • @Roarkethemerciless
      @Roarkethemerciless 9 лет назад

      Vihdin Pallo Do not diverge the conversation. In the documentary you will see that anybody can brake boards without any training.

    • @OlliLeino_sportstuff
      @OlliLeino_sportstuff  9 лет назад

      Roarkethemerciless
      In my understanding, the point in the video was that if the boards are really dry, they are much easier to break. And the most commonly used breaking style, also presented here, downward punch/elbow/ is the least demanding techically and easiest to apply power (simply letting your body mass go down with the attackin tool). So they are among the easiest breaks there are.
      Link to the video in case it is not visible in earlier comments:
      ruclips.net/video/2lY-dIKU8Vs/видео.html (breaking part starts at approx 33 minutes)
