At the time i had to get a permit from the IDF for a year to leave, but if I didnt return at the end of that, I wasn't allowed to return for the rest of my life. I failed to return in that year as I was a student and never had a penny to spare. The problem with Nazis is not concentration camps (those have been used since the 18th century by every more powerful country to separate civilian population from active guerilla force - British in South Africa on Boers, Germans in Angola, Portuguese in Mozambique, French in Indochina, Dutch in Indonesia and the list goes into hundreds).
What was unique for the NSDAP party in Germany - was the existence of dozens of "extermination camps“(Vernichtungslager - extermination camp, Todeszentren - death centres, Todeslager - death camps) . So industrially made ovens and gas chambers with the help of Siemens and Volkswagen - capable of killing 2 million people leaving no traces or at most ashes - per each six-month period.
If Israel had done that - there would be not 1 Palestinian alive by 1949. Instead, their population grew from 700.000 Palestinians in 1948 to about 9 million today on just Isreal/Palestine territory - and from 400.000 to 2.4 million in Israel alone.
