Truly incredible. If I had an EMEO 30 years ago, I’d be 5x the player that I am today. By far, the most important tool in my arsenal. I use mine every day.
Thanks for the update video. It’s always good to hear that something you showed us a while back is still, not just working for you, but also improving. I got my Emeo, based mostly on your past review. My own story is that I was returning to the sax after a 3-4 year break and the Emeo was so critical to my redevelopment that I can honest say that I’m I better player than I was before my hiatus. Very grateful to you and this company that really made a prefect practice instrument.
I love my EMEO. I was an early adopter and can safely say that I am a better player because of it. It allows me to play at the house when everyone else is asleep or trying to rest/study. Plus, the people who run the company are super nice and have been very helpful when I ran into issues.
My Emeo came with 2 necks, and I epoxyed them together to make one longer neck, really made a big difference for my playing comfort. While I have a good practice room for my tenor, so don't need the emeo on a daily basis, I did need it earlier this year when I got some facial paralysis after a dental incident ] : At that time the emeo was the only thing I could actually play and I realized that when I get really old that might be true again so I'm hoping that the Emeo remains relevant and updated as the years go by. Love your channel Jay
@@leenok11 Hi Lee. I bought an adapter with lightning, headphone and USB-A on on side and lightning on the other (you do need a continuous power supply). I then turn on spotify or ireal pro and garageband and can play along without latency. The garageband sounds are not what I am looking for, but i'll find better ones.
Thanks, Jay, for your reviews on the EMEO. I've had mine now for about 2 months and I love playing it. The quality of this instrument is exceptional and is exactly like a conventional sax. It is great to be able to play with headphones so that you can practice and not disturb anyone and also take it on trips to keep up your practicing. Mine came with the new silicone mouthpiece, but I like playing just with the bent tube alone, which I think gives easier articulation.
I also played the EMEO for more than a year now and I really like it. I play it for at least an hour every evening with my headphones and with the usb C cable and there is no lag and I can play fast things att fast tempos. Much depending on what typ of sound I'm using. If I must complain at something then it would be the Respiro. Some sound are great for the Emeo but I feel there is not so many that I like to play but I usually just use 3 or 4 different sounds and they work just fine.

I’ve had my EMEO for over 2 years now and it’s a game changer. I don’t use it every day, but when I can’t practice at night, I use it. It’s the closest thing to a real saxophone in terms of feel. Paired with SWAM, the sax sound is as close as you’ll get and it’s enjoyable. I wish there was a soprano/EMEO and/or Tenor/EMEO combo case. I like to bring it on trips, but carrying 2 cases is cumbersome. I guess I’d have to have something custom made.
i have had my EMEO about a year now. i love it and use the EMEO to practice with GarageBand. so easy to plug in and start playing at my desk. using the SWAM Sax software.
when I placed your Emeo onto my right leg, like you Jay, I couldn't blow the Emeo any more because the outlet hole at the bottom would be closed by my leg. I therefore brought my Emeo to my favorite sax shop. The guy installed a metall bracket over the air outlet which solved the problem. I wonder why you, Jay and no one else in the commentaries mentions this rather problem since it is a significant design fault.
I had an akai ewi 10 years ago and i sold it on because it was like breathing into a really narrow tube. I couldn’t breath into it like a real sax. It made me breathless. In hindsight maybe it was faulty.
EMEO for sale!!! If you live in Canada or the USA. I always liked the idea of a wind controller. Problem is that I just haven't been playing for a while. I have a brand new EMEO that has been played twice and it would be better off with someone who had the time to play it. Message me if interested.
In Jays original he said a short coming was the length of the neck. I got an EMEO and figured that I could use a regular alto neck grafted on to one of the necks that came with the EMEO, which worked better than I thought. I just wrapped the EMEO neck with cork and it just so happened to fit exactly for a pressure fit into the cheapest neck I could find on line. I also found out why EMEO did not ship with a longer neck, the connection between the neck and the instrument is not strong enough to not wobble unless you hold your head VERY steady. I also got use to length of neck that comes with the EMEO.
Hey! How are you? How was your experience with the normal alto neck? I was thinking on doing the same. It wobbles too? I printed out a 3d neck that is as long as a regular neck and i have that problem, cause the conection with the emeo is not as strong as for example the really short straight neck that comes with it
If the EMEO is your favorite EWI for practice, then do you have a different favorite or recommendation EWI for performance? What is the difference between a practice versus performance EWI?
I have been playing this beautiful instrument for around a year now - almost daily. I've hooked it to my iPhone 7 loaded with SWAM tenor and bring in backing tracks off my iPad through a small 3 channel mixer. My playing has lifted dramarttically as I no longer feel restrained by the sound level kicked out to my neighbours from my saxes. My only mild frustration is the tonguing using the standard alto mouthpiece. I struggle to get the speed up as noted by an earlier responder. Any tips ?

The Emeo is advertised as a practice instrument. With all the sound possibilities, why is it not suitable for the stage?
It can definitely be used as a performance instrument.
