The FT-60R still has the absolute best complete feature set for a FM voice dual-bander. One feature that sets it apart from 99 per cent if the others: its battery situation. Affix the optional FBA-25 AA case on it with either AA alkalines or AA NiMH cells, and you have FULL TX power available. (If you really need it.)
Have all the above mentioned radios, plus the FT-2 and FT-3. My experience is that when visiting my city’s central business district, there is only one radio to take with me. The FT-60. Whilst I love all my Yaesu HT’s, the 60 is the only one with front end filtering adequate for the heavy intermod in the CBD!
Great presentation guys. I have 2 FT 60s and an FT 65. Frustrating that Yaesu won’t fix the speaker mic issue on the FT 60 after all these years. Wish we had HRO up here in Canada! Cheers!
Lol ft 60 I wanted another so bad I got 3 best raido for analog dual band for over 20 years hope yeasu never dumps this raido it's a perfect beginner raido it has loud speaker o if u haven't tried the speaker mic try 1 I got ft 2980 7250 mobile s so the other raidos ic 2000 ic 2710 out of all those raidos I get more comments clear clean crisp signals and yes it's my ft 60 w speaker mic my only complaint is battery life battery 1400 ma it s amazing how many hrs it receives 30 hrs on bat save no other raido so multi purpose !
Great video about time you did one so many stores went out of business you got other products do more video go in detail on them customers want to see the store selection video best way to show them
Got to love a Yaesu Radio, I have just one wish with my FT70DE and that is I wish my battery would last longer than 4 hours, but it's great when I use it with my HRI-200
The gents at the HRO near Beaverton OR were curt, abrupt, seemed put off when asked a question, failed to answer some questions and rude to myself and the other people as snippets of their interaction moved closer to mine. First and last time I’ve ever spent money at an HRO. These two gents are a delight. Glad I found this video.
Sorry you had such a nasty experience at the Portland store. I'll speak with the manager about it. I think you'll find it will have been a one-off experience... everybody has a bad day once in a while. Thanks for the compliment on the video! 73.
What would be nice is to see a less expensive option to the FT5DR that would still give you the ability to operate Wires-X via VOIP like the FT5DR with the proper cables. So maybe an upgraded FT70DR??
True! However, we also supply the inks to the product page of each radio in the video description, so it's not hard to find information we may have missed. :-)
I’m a Yaesu guy and I spend a lot of money at HRO. But, the website needs a major improvement. It really sucks and the salesman will admit it. It’s very difficult to search and find a lot of items. I know some of the stuff is there and in stock because I see it in store. But, damned if I can find it on the website, other than the obvious big ticket radios and items. If I can’t make to the store and need to purchase online, I tend to purchase from the competitors because the websites are so much more user friendly and better.
The website is being updated, but that's something for the future. However, it's very easy to find a product using the basic or advanced search features that are listed at the top of every HRO web page. If you know the product name, type it in the search box (eg. "ICOM IC-R9500-02 BLKD"), or any part of the name (eg. "IC-R9500-02" or "9500"), either with or without punctuation (eg. "ICR950002"), or part of the description (eg. "desktop receiver"), or just the manufacturer's name (eg. "icom"). All of those will show you the ICOM IC-R9500-02 BLKD. You can go to the Advanced Search feature and select "Receivers" from the Categories pull-down list. From there, either leave everything checked or deselect everything with just one click and select only "Communications Receivers" and you'll get it too. In the Advanced Search, you can search based on price, manufacturer, or category and you can choose how to view those results. 🙂
@@HamRadioOutlet I’m glad to hear the website will be updated in the future. Hopefully, not the distance future though, because I’d rather spend my money at HRO whenever possible and it makes sense. Sometimes, I like to shop and buy online after store closing hours when I have the time and pick up in store. Good bunch of hams working at the store and always run into someone I know shopping in store. Thank you
I had problems trying to find the Nifty guides. When searching for the Yaesu HTs, I think the VX-6 was being left out of the results. Think I had a similar issue looking for the mobiles, where 1 or 2 were left out of the results. Also had problems trying to find all the charging cradles for the HTs.

Well done Julian and Jeff ! Great overviews of Yaesu HT's.
Thank you!
Love all my Yaesu Radios!
I have the VX-6 and the FT-70 both are great radios
An updated VX6 to add the WiresX capabilities from the FT70 would be my perfect radio.
Still using my VX-5R great radio.
I only get the FT-65r. I have two. I am a basic type of guy and am not into bells and whistles that I know that I will rarely use, if at all.
I enjoy all my Yaesu radios. I have two of the vx-6r HTs.

Honestly I'll buy all that line-up of handys, Yaesu make rock solid radios! No giveaways?...😃
I want a current FT-2. I know Yaesu won't do it, but srsly I want one.
The ft5dr was a big let down many things wrong with the handheld
It's a shame they discontinued the vx-7r...
Hi great Video what kind of antenna connection is on the Yaesu ft-4xr ?
It's the SRA-15 antenna... female SMA connector to match the SMA Male connector on the radio.
@@HamRadioOutlet thank you you for answering my question I may try another antenna but the stock one is good
@@Ross13ful Cool! If you decide on getting another antenna, try the SRH77CA: hro.net/RzNwSi91anY
@@HamRadioOutlet ok thanks I’ll look into it

Love my Yeasu HT KW3ZAP
You need to mention if alphanumeric because people want to know the name of their station, not just a number.
